The Tater Shack has a unique spin on the tot. A tater tot never had it so good!!! You can basically can put any meat, cheese or veggie on a tater .

Recommend by a coworker and was not disappointed. The portions are huge but they give you reheat instructions. Everything is made to order and it was fantastic. I got the buffalo chicken on regular French fries with the fried chicken tenders. The chicken was delicious and the toppings complimented the whole thing. We were greeted immediately and they gave us a rundown on how things work. Super nice staff and felt very welcomed there. The inside is pretty small but the seating is spaced out nicely and they even have bar style seating. Super cute inside as well! I will definitely be going back!

This restaurant is a shining star in Roanoke! The options, price, portions, staff, and atmosphere are all absolutely amazing! We felt so cared for by the staff. One order will give you two meals, so the price is unbeatable and totally worth it! Amazing value. They are super accomodating with changes to the "pre-built" options or you can build your own. They give you reheating instructions if you get it to go with is just such an nice touch. Do yourself a favor and head over to the Tater Shack!!!

Amazing is an understatement! We have been talking about trying this restaurant since they opened but were skeptical about what to expect. We ordered the Rail Dawg special on fries and the Chicken Philly on a potato. The food was off the charts great. Portions were huge, food was made to order and fresh, service was impressive, and the restaurant was clean. The owner went over the menu choices which included your choice of base (potato, tots, fries, sweet potato, and sweet potato fries) with so many topping options or create your own. Prices are comparable to McAllisters spuds but they do not skimp on the toppings. We were not able to finish our meal (because it was huge ) and were given reheating instructions. This wonderful family owned business is a new favorite and we cannot wait to try more items on their menu!
