“Came here after a hike at McAfee knob. Easy to find via gps. I would recommend going on a sunny day but not a rainy day. I went on a overcast rainy day which sucked because I couldn't see the views from the vineyard or walk around the grounds. The building is really quaint but not huge, the expectation is that most sit outside on the picnic tables grass etc. I guess the price is average for a bottle at the vineyard $30 for Cabernet Sauvignon. Not bad-decent wine. Like most wineries you can bring your own snacks etc to eat with your wine as long as you clean up after yourself.“
“Just made our third stop at Stave & Cork. Salem is about halfway on our drive from South Carolina to PA, after visiting relatives. My wife and I like to go to a winery or a wine bar after a day of driving. Stave & Cork popped up on a wine bar search near Roanoke and low and behold, it is a gem! The wine flights are varied and reasonably priced, the small charcuterie board is perfect for two hungry travelers and the trout dip is to die for!! The service is warm and friendly as is the atmosphere in this nicely renovated storefront on Salem's Main Street. We, of course, will be back!“
“The char board is ridiculous. Was not expecting that size/quality at all and the bacon jam is so good. Dinner was great too! 3 filet style surf and turfs, pasta dishes… Just not sure we actually needed it after the apps and salads. We didn’t leave without a complaint tho, they won’t sell their mashed potatoes ala carte. Actual real potatoes like grandma’s and they are seriously delish. We will be making our way back when visiting the kid in college.“
