“Nice find in Roanoke. Visiting a relative and looking to sample local eatery. Village grill didn't disappoint! Very friendly staff and we happened to be there on thursday, half priced burgers! Sooo Hokie burger it was. Everything was fresh and delicious and served quickly. Highly recommend. Thanks guys.“

“Fun hipster place with a great beer selection. Food is really good too. Best omelets in Roanoke by a long shot, made with foodie ingredients. My only complaint is that the ice tea is terrible. I don't know if they skip filtering out the chlorine for the tea or if they are not fresh brewing with quality tea bags. Almost tastes like instant. Unfortunate since they obviously care about their offerings otherwise.“

“Best dive bar in Roanoke. Wings were the bomb. Staff are great and on point. Prices are great. Patrons are some of the kindest folks you ever want to meet. You’re missing a good time if you pass on it. Just don’t drink as much as I did.Once again, I visited the Pirate Sip. Wanted to be sure that my review was on point (my first time there I got blitzed). My first impression stands 10 fold.If you enjoy a friendly atmosphere and good folks, there is not a place in Roanoke/Salem that can hold a candle to the Sip. It’s noted as a dive bar and, for sure, it qualifies as such. But, it is much more. I promise you, you will not be disappointed and you will return. The food is delicious, though I haven’t sampled the full menu and, probably won’t ( I’m a wing nut and I’ve never in my 67 yrs. had better), the folks I’ve spoken with (and my dates love it).Chef Joe, no need to respond to this addendum (get a splint on that finger, duh) The bartenders are the best people you ever want to meet. Enough said: if you snooze on this one you lose. If I’m going out on my own or taking some, it is the only spot I’m heading too. I don’t do reviews lightly. Try it. You don’t like it, your first drink is on me (Joe G.).Parking: Plenty of parking on site.“
