“I had the pleasure of eating at this restaurant during lunch. And it just so happened that it was Taco Tuesday! Beef tacos that are authentic and not skimpy, $1.50 each. I had the chili rellenos that came with a side order of Spanish rice refried beans soft tortilla shells and of course tortillas and salsa, before my meal came. I had iced tea which has free refills The service was impeccable! Very attentive! Checked at my table frequently, to see if I needed anything else. Gave me a to-go cup of iced tea as well as some tortilla chips and salsa to go for free. Highly recommend this restaurant! The prices are very reasonable and the portions are hugeVegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian options availableParking: Multiple handicap spots right at the front door, and an abundance of free parking in front of the restaurant not on the street“
“We love a good Mexican restaurant and this one definitely checks the boxes! The decor is actually really cool, the salsa is delicious and a little spicy. The lunch menu is over a page long and good prices/selections. Also, margaritas starting at $7!Definitely recommend (:“
“I’m a cook and anywho knows me know I I’m a excellent cook so when I tell you my salmon bowl is everything with that sweet and tangy flavor makes your dance little Mexico did there dam thang I’m never disappointed love the atmosphere they should be the #1 Mexican reds in the “
“I ordered take-out, quesabirria and shrimp ceviche. The food was good, the service was good also. I'm a southern California native, where I've had some of the best Mexican food, so for me this restaurant received 4-stars. I will be back with friends and family.“
“This is such a cute place by the canal! We went for dinner on Monday and had a lovely time. The food was delicious! I gave it 4 stars because I do wish their salad had a bit more to it besides lettuce (no, I did not have a Cesar). However, the mushrooms I added were seasoned and cooked really well. The queso, though!!! We scraped that bowl clean! Margaritas are top-notch, too! I had the blackberry and the fully loaded. I would get the blackberry over and over again. So good! Blake was our server, and his calm, patient demeanor was a breath of fresh air. He answered all our questions, provided great recommendations, and is very knowledgeable. I've seen some posts about auto gratuity and fees - we did not have any. When we paid, we could select a percentage for tip or type in any amount. I did get a paper receipt, and the only thing added was tax, as expected.“
“I LOVE LA Casita, I have been going there for DECADES! The atmosphere is fun, warm and welcoming. The owner, Naji, places a lot of importance on service, Hospitality, and quality. The food is Delicious with unique sauces you won't find at other Mexican restaurants. I live out of state now and miss this dining spot most! Can't wait til I am back in town again!!“
“11/10 with rice and beans. One of the best places I've ever been. Food amazing, atmosphere was nice, and staff was super accommodating. I actually ate here 2 years ago and remembered how much I loved the place so I wanted to write a review.“
“Tacos are excellent. Prices are reasonable. Took like 25m to get three tacos.Being in a used car lot these days honestly kind of adds to the ambience. But they had some picnic tables and a canopy for some covered seating.Parking: It is in a used car lot. There's plenty of parking spaces.“
“We went during the weekday it was moderately busy and service was excellent it came with complimentary chips white dip( Not cheese) and salsa.I got the enchiladas they were amazing!Excellent experience drinks never ran out .Very clean and small relaxing atmosphere they also have a small bar.“
“Wow excellent food. The food is authentic. The drinks are amazing. The drinks actually have alcohol. The place is very welcoming and the staff were really nice! I will be returning especially it’s 5 minutes away. I recommend if you want to eat good food and have a good drink with friends or family. It was so good that I didn’t even get a chance to take a picture ?Keep up the good work!!!“
“Tacos Mexico is definitely the best Tacos and burritos in town! They are making fresh salsa and tortillas everyday and it taste so good. I loved their food since I found this place about 7years ago. If you looking for authentic Mexican street tacos must try!“
“It's a solid choice in the city for a basic Mexican food experience. Salsas are decent, food is fast, drinks are as expected but there's a huge selection. The ground beef is surprisingly really good - I normally get that over the steak options.“
“Everyone was so kind here. My phone was dying and they let me charge it as I awaited for my to go order. The food was hot and flavor full. The portions were large. I definitely would. OneBack to done in.Vegetarian options: There are options labeled.Kid-friendliness: It was very colorful and has candy for sale.“
“Great little Mexican place in the city of Richmond. We are at GalaxyCon and needed to take a break and grab something to eat, so we went for a short walk and ended up finding Ay Caramba. It wasn't overly busy, so we were able to get seated pretty quickly. We very much enjoyed everything. My wife got a little taco bowl, and I got a couple of tacos with some sweet plantains. First thing the plantains were out of this world! The tacos were very fresh and tasty, and my wife liked her food as well. Thought the salsa was really good. They have a nice little bar area. Not a huge menu, but it seems like what they do have they do very well. They do have a little patio outside with a couple of tables, so if it's a nice day, you can enjoy the sun.“
“Came for lunch. There weren't many people in there but it filled up really quick after about 10 minutes. Make sure you know some kind of Spanish because there is only one worker there who speaks English. The tacos were decent sized and the prices weren't bad just less cilantro and onions and more meat was needed for them. The place is small so depending on how many people are in at the time you mat be waiting for a little bit. Not bad I'd come back again.“
“My husband and I stopped there on the way to a doctor's appointment, service was so fast. I love that they serve the white sauce with the red with your taco chips. Everything was delicious. This was our first time at this location We usually go to the one out by the airport. We will definitely back to this location, so much closer to our home.“
“I ordered from DoorDash. I got a Chorizo Breakfast Burrito. It was not bad. I was just really missing some red hot sauce. It's very filling and easily two meals. I didn't expect whole beans, but didn't mind it.The grilled scallions were huge! It was just missing some lime.Nothing major stood out.“
“Ive been living in VA for about a month, and have been let down by several restaurants that were recommended as good and to me they just passed as edible establishments. But Rico's, they are worth my time and money. Nice Ambience to the place, a true vibe to a Mexican restaurant . I want to give thanks to our server Mauricio, told him what I was in the mood for and he told me what dish to get and how to amend it to my liking. Spicy is what I wanted and the Carne a la mexicana has a red tomatillo sauce that is HOT! First time I ever needed guacamole to calm the heat from a spicy Mexican dish. But the flavor kept me wanting more, I cleaned the plate. Speaking of guacamole, Mauricio made a fresh bowl of guac for me and my wife it was on point, not a single ingredient was overpowering it all Blended well together. My wife ordered the street tacos, they have six varieties and you get three to a plate , great deal in my opinion. They were flavorful and are great as an appetizer. I would recommend this place to anybody who's looking for good Mexican food. See you again soon!“
“First time visiting this restaurant as it was recommended by a friend. 3 adults had dinner and two with soft drinks and the bill was under $55.00. I don’t know of anywhere within the Richmond area where you can dine with reasonable prices. So much food I had to use take out boxes for the remainder of my meal. Great atmosphere and great service.“
“OMG, we ate so much food here. That we couldn't eat again until the next day. The food is fresh, hot and very tasty ? ?. AND I have a big appetite, so the GENEROUS PORTIO S were greatly appreciated. This is truly a hidden gem in Va.“
“The food was good, but not great. The food was well worth it ($19, no tips). The cheese, the sour cream, rice, and beans were delicious. The stake was alright, but the smell was different. I was probably not ready to eat a stake for breakfast. Would I come back to eat? Yes. The atmosphere is not the best. It feels like more like a hole in the wall, which is great if that is what you are looking for.“
“What a wonderful place! If I could give them ten stars, without hesitation, I would do it in a heartbeat! The service is 100% unparalled. You feel like you are eating at a family member's house. The staff is so sweet, warm, kind, helpful, and genuinely caring. They were so sweet to my baby boy that he adores them and cannot wait to go back. They treated him like they were just one of his aunties, and he loved it!The food was great, absolutely flawless! We had pupusas, tamal de gallina (hen tamal), and atol de elote (thickened cream cornstarch drink - just try it! So comforting and warm, like a big hug!). My son and I loved everything! The tamal was definitely up there with the best I've ever had. It was packed with chicken and flavor, and had a nice balance of meat and veg. Everyone thinks they can make good tamales, but these people really can! Tamales are to Central American and Mexican food what mac and cheese and potato salad are to Americans--your ability as a cook is just mere talk until someone has tried your tamales. That is the real test. The cooks here pass the test with flying colors! The pupusas were flavorful and so tender with the perfect amount of filling. I am so serious when I say you feel like you're dining at Grandma or Auntie's house. SO much care is given to everything.Did I seriously forget to mention how clean this place is? It is impeccable, and it smells great. Even the bathroom looks and smells clean. It smells like Fabuloso/Mistolin and happiness haha! I am just waiting impatiently to return and try the pupusa loca (the mini). It has all things delicious in it, and it was calling my name last time, but the cook that makes them wasn't there, so I just had regular pupusas. I also can't wait to try their delicious-looking soups. Yum! Please support this business, people! Few businesses like this exist. PLUS! They play great music too! You just feel so great here, and you leave here with that same wonderful feeling! What a great place! No frills, just great people and great food!“
“Good food and friendly service. Stopped in for dinner and got the #2 dinner combination. Really good chilli relanos. Will definitely stop in again next time I'm passing through New Kent. Restaurant is close to interstate 64 off Hwy 249.“
“We love coming back here because the owners and their family members have been there consistently for years. These are some of the hardest working, most kind-hearted individuals you'll ever meet. Our boys ask to go here at least once a week. Thankful for a local restaurant with top-notch service!“
“Coming from a Mexican, this food is very authentic and delicious. They have a wide variety of food on their menu and big portions. Patio is astonishing and service was great. Everyone is always friendly especially the owner. This will always be my go to spot for Mexican in the Richmond area.“
“I was glad that my white found this place on our recent travels, I liked their pupusas so much that I stopped by again on our way back home, but it was worth the detour and despite that you have to wait at least 15 minutes for the order to be fulfilled it's worth it because the pupusas are made fresh otherwise they wouldn't taste as good.If you haven't had or don't know what pupusas are, they are a typical food from Central America, mainly from El Salvador and they're delicious, not everyone that sells them know how to make them, or are as tasty as these, they're very good, also their fried yucca (cassava root) is good with chicharrones (fried pork meat chunks). The only bad thing is that I live four hours away or this'll be my place to go whenever I craved pupusas,“

“Great food and loved the smell of grilled chicken. I tried chicken stew and was awesome. Their fried rice is really nice. Not like regular Chinese with all that soy sauce and vinegar but just great fried rice. Will visit again to try some other great offerings.“
“The food could have been seasoned more so its very bland I thought everything was just ok the price is good DO NOT GET THE FRIED ICE CREAM I REPEAT DO NOT GET THE FRIED ICE CREAM it was a ice cream ball rolled in frosted flakes I wish I took a picture of you want there version of fried ice cream the buy a tub of ice cream and a box of frosted flakes and there you have it.“
“Excellent experience. The food came super fast and the service was excellent. Loved the atmosphere of the place. It was a pleasant surprise when we went there. We had driven past that area many times and never noticed that a Mexican restaurant was in the area.“
“Great food! Closest to authentic Mexican food I've had in RVA. I highly recommend the fried potatoes as a side.Tip: I should've ordered guac as a side (instead of black beans) for the free chips. The chips come with pico de gallo.“
“Reviews are spot on. Service fast and friendly. Chips were warm and had right amount of salt, the salsa while it's more tomatoe base it had a kick.My soup one word, delicious. The fajitas salad was different from what I'm used to, it didn't come in a shell, but different is good and I'm hooked, I'll skip shell at other Mexican restaurants. Had mix chicken and steak both cooked good and came hot.“
