“I had tons of gelato when I traveled to Italy with one of our favorite spots being Venchi. Since coming back, we've tried other gelato places but none have been anything like what we had there. Imagine how giddy I was to find out that the same Venchi was located in the States and close to my house!! We promptly tried the stracciatella ( my daughter's favorite) and it immediately took us back. It was rich, creamy, perfectly sweet, and delicious just like I remembered. We will definitely be back!“

Every meal, appetizer, and desert was delicious. we had the lamb shank meal, the New York Sirloin entree, Moussaka, Imam Baildi, lamb gyros, Greek salad, homemade potato chips (best ever), pita and hummus sampler, and more. Deserts were the lemon cake, apricot baklava, sour cherry baklava. Yeah we overdid it on our order, but we enjoyed a smorgasbord of delicious Greek food that made you think it was from a top 10 upscale downtown restaurant. “This place is a neighborhood classic. They keep the prices low (by Arlington standards) and the decor is awesome "mom's kitchen throwback". May it never, never change. I don't love everything they make, but since they make about 87,000 different things, you can find something. Their emphasis is old style German baking with Christian and Jewish calendar seasonal flourishes. This is, for instance, the first place I ever had a "hot cross bun"-- like in the children's poems. (They had them for Easter). And they have a great sandwich bar where I always get egg salad. The quiches are good too. They have coffee and real German sausages that look delicious too. And a nice seating area in front of a huge window. There's always room. So basically, you could spend all day here eating, drinking coffee, reading, looking out the window, and planning your next meal. That would be a great day. (PS: parking is annoying but do-able)“

Their coffee is top tier and so are their pastries. My personal favorite is their banana bread and almond croissant.They are always busy, so keep that in mind when visiting. Getting to sit here seems like a privilege!“

“I had to pick up items for a work breakfast the following morning to accommodate some attendees gluten sensitivites. As I walked in, tge glass case proudly displayed the beautiful offerings and I only wish I could have tasted everything. While there, I purchased a savory mushroom turnover, latte, and a chocolate heart cheesecake. The turnover was delicious. The pastry was flaky, savory, and mouthwatering. I'm not the biggest coffee drinker, and the kind lady that waited on me suggested the latte. Her assistant made a beautiful heart pattern with the frothed cream and it was delicious. I had the cheesecake dessert in the afternoon. It was not overly sweet like many. It was a good balance. I highly recommend the pastries and latte and will go back to try other itens. Definitely give this bakery a try.“

“A fine if small bakery tucked into the back of a strip mall, the Fairfax Bakery brings Turkish inspired foods and pastries to the area. Their pastries, of which we have sampled a number, are excellent as are their breakfast sandwiches. The Turkish breakfast platter is a Mediterranean adventure as is the baraq (sp?), something like a filled bagel. Their Turkish bagels are a real treat, and for those who like sweet coffee so is theTurkish coffee. Go early in the day for take out pastries as by lunchtime they are often sold out. Recommended for take out and for a quick breakfast in the small sitting area. Pleasant service.“

“I have been to this location for dessert back when it was a Gelato spot, a crepe spot, etc. Once I found out it changed, I knew I had to try it! My friend and I were looking at the menu weeks in advance of our visit to see what we wanted to order. We knew in our hearts and belly that we needed the pistachio cake. Once we arrived (after eating a large meal at the Ethiopian restaurant), our eyes were bigger than our stomachs....yea that's a real thing when you're in a bakery!!! We were feeling a little nutty and ordered the following items: -Nuts about you (pistachio, hazelnut latté) -Almond succés $8.20 -Almond croissant $5.35 -Pistachio cake $6.90 They were kind enough to split the latte into 2 cups for us and it was just AMAZING. I was a little confused about the almond succés flavor/texture, but my friend disliked it. The almond croissant was good. the Pistachio cake just deserves its own moment and I would highly recommend it!!“

“Highly recommend! Sweet Pia is a local baker in Alexandria. Sometimes I get overwhelmed placing an order, but not with her system. The cake and cookie forms are both straight forward and thorough. She’s very responsive and gets back to you within 2-3 days (as mentioned on the forms). My experience was wonderful from start to finish. I had a last minute change in my schedule that caused a conflict with my original pick up date. I immediately reached out to her explaining my situation. She was friendly, understanding and flexible. My niece’s 8th birthday party was under the sea themed. I ordered the medium sized lemon raspberry cake flavor, vanilla buttercream and raspberry curd filling along with a dozen regular sized and mini sized vanilla-almond cookies. The cake was moist, firm and the perfect combination of sweet and tart. The cookies were whimsical to look at, they were absolutely delicious. The hint of vanilla-almond flavor made it even more tasty than the everyday sugar cookie. Also, the cookie was baked to perfection. It wasn't crumbly or overly crispy. I'm not that familiar with the area but it was easy to find the shopping center and there was PLENTY of parking. It shares a space with a catering company so make sure to look for the sign outside to ensure you're at the correct place. There is nothing at all spectacular about the inside of this establishment. It doesn't even look like they would sell cookies. I was greeted pretty much right away and informed that because cookies are made to order, there would be a 10-15 minute wait. My one piece of advice is to order ahead if you can because you'll end up ordering online anyway from their QR code. I ordered three cookies (please don't ask why I ordered an odd amount): chocolate chip, M&M, and sugar. They all tasted great and I wish I would've ordered more ...for later of course. “This is an Asian bakery and not European Style. That means much less sugar, very unique flavors, lighter and more flavorful. My daughter and I love the Soufflé and we call in advance. I love the artichoke and spinach, egg tart, and pork and onion bun. If you're open minded and want to try something different, then this is an excellent place. If you want fried sugar or baked butter/sugar then maybe try something else.“

“I heard about Levain and was in the Bethesda area, so I had to make a stop. As soon as you walk in, you’re hit was amazing smells of baked goods and fresh coffee. The options are simple and straightforward. The staff was all business; get you in and get you out - order and move out of the way.I tried four different cookies. Were they worth the hype? Yes! Absolutely! Maybe some of the best cookies I’ve ever had. At $5 a piece, they’re expensive but worth the cost. “A solid baked goods shop. Great customer service. They had three section:outdoor seating area, indoor seating and your typical order and lay set up. My experience at the spot was brief. I order a bagel with cream and cheese. They just have one option for cream cheese( original), no option for toasted, and you have to prepare it in your own( spread the cream cheese). The place looked pretty busy for a Friday mid-morning. I may come here again to try their other selection besides the pastries.“

“I discovered this little cafe on my way out to Great Falls for a hike. I stopped by for a coffee and croissant but ended up with coffee and a couple of other things entirely! It's a very cute café with a small amount of indoor and outdoor seating.They have a pretty impressive assortment of baked goods here. I appreciate the thoughtfulness of labeling all food offerings on display with descriptions so that you can try something new! I have to come back and try the Nutella croissant, but the Kouign Amann was perfect! I only wish they had asked if I wanted it to be warmed up. I also tried the sunny side up Crogel and it was very good, although the bacon to everything else ratio was off (too much tomato, generous amount of Mayo, and a nice size egg. But not enough bacon!). I loved the croissant-bagel hybrid concept itself. Coffee was unremarkable but still very solid. I had a caramel macchiato. I will definitely make this place a regular stop for my morning snack before a hike!“

“honestly a hidden gem in good fortune market in eden centre! I saw this recommended amongst the Chinese community and had to try it out. They sell Portuguese and Hong Kong styled egg tarts, one for $2. It doesn't show in the photo but the egg tarts were huge, larger than the normal ones I get from bakeries and also cheaper. the lady is very helpful if it is your first time there, and will explain to you if a bread contains fillings or what type of filling.“

“Saturday 11/11/2023 The customer service was some of the best I've ever experienced, it was amazing. The woman working was very helpful and enthusiastic in assisting me with what I should order by throughly explaining all the baked items I had questions about. I ended up getting a Cronut $3.50, a glazed donut $1.85, 3 Cinnamon buns $2.50 per bun, and a carrot cake slice $8. The Cronut is a croissant donut and it was definitely my favorite item I got: airy and great texture & taste. I would definitely come back just for this item. The glazed donut was decent but nothing special. The cinnamon buns were what I was most hype for but it ended up being underwhelming: the bread wasn't moist and it had more of a dry/stale taste. The carrot cake slice was surprisingly better than I expected and was pretty good BUT $8 for a single slice is pretty expensive. Overall, my experience was great: amazing customer service with a wide variety of delicious baked goods. I would definitely recommend and return to this bakery.“
