“I did not dine in here so I wasn’t able to comment on service or atmosphere. I gave this location a 4 star far as food because the chicken and broccoli was just “ok” nothing special. The chicken teriyaki on a stick was extremely dry and overcooked and didn’t have any sauce on it. Would not recommend. The lo mein was good. General tso chicken was all breading. This used to be the #1 Chinese place in va beach town center but it no longer stands out.“

“I try to bring everybody I know to this restaurant. A lot of people are hesitant. “It’s so expensive! Why is this Chinese food $20 for a meal!!” I have to explain that it’s a blend of traditional with some Americanized dishes. That this is a completely different experience from any of the thousands of ‘No. 1 Chinese’ restaurants across the country. I have to explain every time this is NOT P.F. Chang’s. P.F. Chang’s is NOTHING compared to PETER CHANG.The fried rice? The best fried rice I have EVER experience. This fried rice is LIFE CHANGING. Perfectly cooked. Excellent portion, even as a side to the meal. Now look, I’ll be honest. I’m a little scared to try new foods. Luckily, they have a dish here that I like so much that if it was the only thing they served (as long as it came with fried rice) I would be perfectly happy. Golden. Mountain. Chicken. Spicy. I’ve had the non spicy version. But it just doesn’t compare in the unique flavor profile that the spicy version has. If you like spicy food and you, like me, are afraid of eating pigs feet, or whole fishes, or chitterlings or whatever other traditional Asian cuisines us Americans are not accustomed to, get the golden mountain chicken (spicy). It’s like a general tso or sesame chicken, but the meat is fresh and the flavors are great.I just wish they had a lunch sized portion….“
