“Visited the Fat Canary Downstairs on a rainy day after my plans suddenly changed looking to eat great food with a great cocktail. It was one of those days where I really needed a win. I've heard the Downstairs is amazing and it definitely lives up to the hype. This experience made my day. Located in the wine shop below Merchant's Square, Fat Canary Downstairs offers a cocktail menu, a limited menu as well as the upstairs Fat Canary menu. I started off with a Gold Rush cocktail. It was refreshing and the Makers Mark still shone through. For my meal, I chose the Wagyu Beef Burger. They asked how I'd like it cooked and I said medium. To my delight, it came out a perfect medium. This isn't my experience with burgers at many places, so it was exciting. The burger was flavorful and juicy. The fries were also delicious. The way they were stacked made me laugh when my meal arrived. The plating, while simple, brought some whimsy to the table. My server was very nice and attentive. She checked in on the cocktail and food after each were served and then gave me my space to eat until I looked ready to leave. While it is a small space with few seats for diners, below the fancy Fat Canary, the atmosphere was cool and made me feel like I was in a place slightly out of time, away from the world. My experience wasn't loud or rushed. I had a great time and would definitely come back.“

“My husband and I really enjoyed Gabriel Archer Tavern. It's right next to Williamsburg winery however they are completely separate businesses. Their flights are all Williamsburg winery wines however sometimes the flight selections differ from the wineries. The food was amazing. We ordered from the rotating daily menu. The service was fantastic and our view of the winery made it worthwhile.“

“I've been here twice within the past year and it has become a must whenever I spend a night in Williamsburg. The breakfast is has been on point both visits. The pancakes are fluffy, meats are tender and cooked just right. I can write out an entire list, but just know if you're looking for breakfast, head here. Service is also great as well. They take care of you and are quick to rectify any issues.“

“Booked a reservation for my wife and I for our 5th anniversary. They didn't have our table ready for 30 minutes after our reservation time, which was frustratingly annoying. Once we finally did get seated, the meal was good, and the service matched.“

The Social Terrace American

“Drinks and appetizers at the adjacent Restoration Bar. Delightful service from Marie and the bartender. Sorry didn't get her name. The charcuterie plate was delicious and I enjoyed one of their signature cocktails, Linus' Boxcar. We then were seated at a lovely table in the dining room where we enjoyed a superb steak with savory mashed potatoes and wonderful roasted root vegetables. ! We had asked to share and was delivered beautifully split and plated. Our server, Linda, was delightful attentive and welcoming. We always love the ambiance, service, food and beverages at the Williamsburg Inn.“
