Papermill has been a staple for weekend breakfast for our family for over a decade. Their food is always delicious, service is great even when they're full with a line out the door. Their pancakes are not to be missed, as well as their chipped beef gravy over biscuits. ?
The food is ok, however there needs to be some attention to toasted items like english muffins and toast. These items should not be hard and have butter in clumps. The scrambled eggs should be fluffy and not chopped and over cooked. The service is good. The kitchen is slow. The ambiance is not welcoming. The staff was told to not talk to the customers, other than to take an order (especially the regulars). I find this offensive. We've been a few times, and food is always good. Service can sometimes be perfunctory...I get the feeling that the place really caters to locals. The kitchen does seem to be a bit single-threaded, but the food has always been good when it comes out. We particularly like sitting at the counter and watching the food being made.
