“The Hillsville Diner is a town treasure and has been a much loved eating establishment for several decades. I got a bacon cheeseburger and French fries this trip. The hand-patted burger was cooked just right and was juicy and flavorful. The generous serving of golden French fries were delicious. The atmosphere is friendly and casual. They have many plate lunch options with a variety of sides along with sandwiches, burgers and hot dogs. They have phenomenal country breakfast until 10, too.”

“The owner & operator was at the counter as we entered and was not only prompt and polite, but also courteous, patient and pleasantly aired. He shared the shops story as they worked through economically challenging times and kept the shop afloat.The shop itself was immaculately together (in both seating and cleanliness) with plenty of variable seating offered. The coffee was perfect to our taste! No food was tasted.Parking: The vehicle was parked at around 11 am on a Monday, with no trouble pulling right in.Kid-friendliness: Plenty of space but may disturb the tranquility of the somewhat religious ambience.Wheelchair accessibility: In the downtown district. Very accessible within including the bathroom.”

“I would suggest these wonderful people for all of your sweet baked goods. They did the wedding cake for my wife and I; and it turned out spectacular. We have them make the cakes for all of our birthdays and showers. They prepared cupcakes for our daughters housewarming shower for tomorrow. They were ready when I arrived, and the little lady inside was so friendly.”

“A convenient place in Pipers Gap road. They offer most convenience store items and made to order food reasonably priced. This is the only store around this area for quite a while so if you need a drink or some food or the various other things this is your last chance for many miles heading towards Lambsburg MTN.”

“I traveled to Galax for work from Richmond, VA. I got the Miss Piggy with Cole slaw for take out and it was the best barbecue and cole slaw that I have ever eaten.”

“Nice old town atmosphere with character. I arrived before the band in a Friday night. Several good menue choices.Started with the fried brussel sprouts with an outstanding smoked honey aioli.I moved onto the Galax Country Club sandwich with rub pub chips. Fresh and good.I finished with a warm brownie drizzled with caramel and chocolate.For take out, a Space Jam pizza.A Black cherry cola was the perfect drink!Service was prompt and friendly.Yes, I would recommend this place.”

“Been here multiple times. The first few times I was not impressed. The last time I came in the food seemed to have been cooked by a different chef. I was vary pleased with the shrimp Alfredo I ordered. Still a little pricey for 4 and a kid. But if I keep getting food when cooked by whoever made the food my last go around I'll order again...its a hit and miss it seems.”

“Best pizza in the area. Contenders supported my wife’s birthday on last minute, which was a big order during the week. We live in Jersey and frequently travel to New York (originally from Hillsville VA) and their pizza is definitely on the same level as the great spots up here. Friendly service, good prices and family environment. Being from Hillsville, I wish people supported local establishments more so go give it a try ??”

“My husband & I wanted to enjoy our last Valentine’s Day together before welcoming our baby in a few days. We’d never eaten here before or heard of it so figured why not. The prices are amazing compared to a lot of similar places. You’re looking at roughly $10 per person. Food was tasty, I got the steak fajitas & my husband got the Luis Special. My only complaint is the service could be better. They did seem a bit busier than maybe they’re used to being so I’ll give some grace. My husband’s tea was not sweet and the waitress just brought back the same cup with sugar at the bottom of the glass. Lol. Other than that, everything was great & we had a good time. We’ll be returning for sure.”
