The place seems a little old fashioned and small town but don’t let that deter you if that’s not usually your thing. The food was tasty, we were seated quickly and the service was great! My husband and I split the onion strings as an appetizer. Not usually my thing typically but good enough. I had the lemon chicken with mashed potatoes, stuffing and green beans and my spouse had a burger with onion rings. It was a lot of food; enough for leftovers! Everything was delicious.
This was the most standout meal I had during my one-week stay in Vermont. Every course was excellent. The maple carrot soup was an ingenious concept carried out flawlessly. The house dill dressing made my simple salad extraordinary. My entree was the grilled trout, and it was just beautiful - delicate, flavorful, plentiful, and far more satisfying than many unhealthy fried meals I've had. I went here for dinner one night not really knowing what to expect and thought maybe I’d have trouble being seated because it was like an hour before closing and it was packed. However, I was seated very promptly and had a very helpful and friendly server.The food was okay, and in my opinion isn’t going to knock anyone’s socks off.
