“Formerly the Mark Skinner Library for 100 years, the building has been creatively reborn(a few years ago) as an upscale art-filled restaurant. Buckminster Fuller designed the addition in the 1960s! Definitely make a reservation as early as you can. A number of side dishes are vegan, and we ordered the ratatouille with bread & greens and the tower of mofungo. Owners have lived in San Juan and impart the tastes and styles of this city into their cooking, a delight. We took food home, very large portions. I wondered if I would have to dress up, but styles are casual in New England, even at fancier places in cold weather, it seems. Really nice wines by the glass and bottle. Friendly service from Keller. The owners invited us to look in the kitchen which used to be book stacks. They still have the card catalog.”
“Everything was great as usual, especially the ambiance and the service. Cocktails are also creative and well prepared. Our only complaint was that the coffee AND espresso (especially) were on the weak side and not piping hot.”
“Stayed for the 2 night weekday Epicurean stay and could not recommend it more! It is exactly what you would want out of a Vermont Inn/Hallmark movie and I will be back. The price point was better than expected for 2 nights, including breakfast each day, a wine and cheese plate upon arrival, birthday treats and a 3 course meal for 2. (499 before extras and taxes)The staff were all pleasant,. Our room was perfect,; loved the remote fireplace, the library esthetic and the jetted bathtub. Parking was easy and plentiful. I cannot wait to return.PLEASE go here for a romantic and cozy night. You will not be disappointed.”
“Nice little spot near center of town. Didn't try the pastries but they all looked wonderful. We had a sandwich which was rather delicious. It escapes me which one it was right now as I am writing my review a week later, so my apologies. Along with the sandwich we had some limeade, also delicious.”
“Superb! Akee like butter, complimenting the salted fish and peppers wonderful shredded salad, caramelized plantain, whipped potato and corn, peas and rice. Add some hot sauce and Bombastic!!! Already looking forward to more.”
“Delicious, delightful, and around wonderful breakfast experience. Everything on the menu is delicious, there's outdoor seating or you can pop in and out eat your sandwiches on the go. There's also a confectionary store right across with glorious stuff worth checking out!”
“I’ve been to a few other breakfast places in the area but I think Little Rooster Cafe’ is my current favorite. The food was great, the prices weren’t bad, and they got me in and out efficiently. My only complaint was they sat me in a weird spot at the counter where I had figurines and other things in my way but other than that I had a great experience.”
“It is a family tradition to visit the Marsh Tavern Veranda to celebrate my wife's birthday. This year it was equally enjoyable as past times. Sitting on the veranda in the summer with a view of the Vermont sky is always special. Our lunch selections were quite good. Service is fast and friendly.”
“Comfortable stay..very romantic spot..lots to do..shopping hiking pool hot tub steam...dinner...pillows and bed very comfortable..liked the large mirrors ..very walkable to restaurants and shopping..also bikes available”
“The food was pretty good! My family and I had a lobster roll, clam chowder, breaded wings with fries, calamari and fried oysters. The calamari, fried oysters and fries gave everyone stomach aches. But the lobster roll was great! We came early like around 5:45-6:00 pm but when we were leaving there was a huge line and it was veryyyyy crowded. Overall we enjoyed it but the food gave us stomach aches and if you don’t come early you might get stuck in a longgggggg line.”
“I ordered the Corned beef special for St. Pats day. It was the best I ever had! The Chef specially crafted the dish and came out twice and checked on us. Superb!”
“Delicious Sausage McMuffins and coffee. Location was clean and modern. Staff were friendly and efficient. They need a dine-in drink machine, but that's all.”
“I’m so glad we gave this place a chance regardless of sub-par reviews. Atmosphere was cozy and sweet. There was a good mix of people: couples, larger parties, and families. Food was pretty good, service was great, atmosphere was even better. We had 7:00 reservations and were able to be seated right away. The hostess recognized on our reservation that it was our anniversary and wished us a happy anniversary. Drinks were great, appetizers were great, meals were pretty good. All food was garnished and presented beautifully. Scallops were a little under cooked but overall delish. Moral of the story: don’t let the negative reviews steer you away!!What we got to eat:Cocktails: bees kneesApps: bread service & fried goat cheese (10/10 recommend, highlight of our meal easily!)Mains: diver sea scallops & grilled wagyu burger.”
“I absolutely love the food here. Everything is always delicious and I never had the wrong order. The staff is always polite and courteous. My only complaint is that the hours are kinda wonky. They used to be open for dinner, and now they close in the early afternoon or some days beforehand. Wish they had better hours.”
“Had the Farmers omelette. It tasted like they had gone shopping at a farmers market that morning . Friendly, and comfyWheelchair accessibility: As the name implies, you have to walk up a flight of stairs”
“Burger is fairly good, keeps me coming back. Milkshakes are great. Only thing that keeps it from becoming a couple times a month vs. couple times per year is the price range. Cost me $31 for a double burger, fries, and a milkshake. Very good food but I don’t think any burger meal anywhere is worth that much. However, it is Manchester so prices reflect the customer base and competition.Overall recommend it. If you find the prices affordable I don’t see why you wouldn’t come in multiple times a month, it’s good food.”
“Such a treat. Authentic feeling Italian in a small mountain town. Excellent cocktails, wine list favors northern Italian wines, and the pasta is all handmade. Really enjoyed my evening here and highly recommend.”
“The Dorset Inn is a great jewel! Every time we dine there, it’s consistently wonderful. The staff makes all extra too and they are all very professional and delightful know their food, cocktails, wines and small gift shop products. Kudos to the chef and management!I adore their locally made maple syrup candles in our kitchen that continually remind us of the Inn!”
“This is an amazing Turkish restaurant. They have really great authentic small and large plates. Good wine and beer. They also have a huge store of furniture and home goods from around the world. A very interesting place.”
“Fantastic selection, good prices for all varieties of fish and some shellfish. Wish there were more oyster varieties but we're in Vermont, not the cape so I guess I'm just spoiled.”
“WOW! Absolutely delicious Burmese cuisine! Literally the best I’ve had, and I’ve only had it at BurmaLove in SF. I got the chicken Nan Gyi Thok, spicy and SO GOOD! Such a cute and quaint little restaurant in Manchester, VT! Definitely drop by if you’re in the area!”
“Great place! Had the melt in your mouth venison. Lovely, warm and unique restaurant. Really enjoyed it, the snow made it that much more cozy. Server was perfect and punctual. They have a mock-tail apple punch or something like that that was refreshing and would be perfect for even younger patrons. Already trying to recreate it...Worth making your visit, as I left a very happy camper! Thank you, as I will visit again.”
“A very nice, welcoming restaurant. Barrows has a family friendly, and a warm atmosphere. The food is excellent and the drinks were even better! Highly recommend.”
“This garden center is so hip with lots of places to sit and music. Very tasteful flower and landscaping arrangements. A great place to find a gift for a gardener. Selection of tools, decor, and books that all looked really nice. Enjoyed my expresso. They also have plants!”
“I have always really enjoyed eating at Nipper’s Cafe. It’s a delicious and interesting menu so it’s tough deciding what to get but the breakfast burrito is one of my favorites. A maple latte in a real mug is a special treat. It’s warm and cozy with comfortable seating for any size group. The kind and friendly staff and sun shining through the large windows top it off for me.Dietary restrictions: They have vegetarian and gluten-free options.Kid-friendliness: This place is for all ages.”
“I literally drive hours out of my way to get to Mother Myrick's! Their Buttercrunch is the best--it's the most authentic I've had in the U.S. It tastes like the best of Austria! Everything is outstanding!”
“Diamond pool table in great condition... Need I say more? Home vibes with fire place, and puppies running around Nice ambience with dive bar prices. Only reason it's not a 5 star, is cuz they charge $2 for ice cubes...”
“Had a great time service was great staff was polite and went above and beyond. Don't forget the food was great. I will go back if I'm ever in that state again. We even bought tshirts there we liked it so much.Vegetarian options: Staff will work with you to make something epic for you”
“Super accommodating, party of 12 phone in same day. You can tell this is the locals place. Food was surprisingly good. Mac n Cheese bites were gone in seconds. Chowder exceeded my expectations and was very large! Brownie Sunday was a tad dry and wasn't "sizzling" the time it got to table. Everyone else enjoyed their burgers and prime rib. Stacey, are server, did a fantastic job!”
“Overall, this isn’t a bad substitute for a Chipotle kind of restaurant in the area. I got a burrito bowl and while it was a bit pricey, the food was good and the staff were super friendly. I also appreciated the multitude of drink options.”
