It was our first time at Toscano's.The hostess seated us quickly and shortly after Phillip arrived to share the specials and take our drink orders.He was lickety split quick in returning and asked if we had decided... I decided to order the baked meatballs appetizer. He patiently let us ponder the menu and specials as he retrieved us a half loaf of lightly toasted Italian bread... when it arrived there were 2 sauces... and not like other Italian restaurants, what looked like Marinara was actually a red pepper and tomato puree, and what appeared as herbed olive oil was actually an Italian verde dressing with just the right amount of vinegar.When Philip returned with the bread we each ordered one of the specials and hubby ordered a Ceasar Salad.When that salad arrived with a freshly sliced lemon piece we should have gotten a hint for what we were for in next... as that salad was perfectly dressed in dressing with a sinful amount of freshly grated Parmesan Cheese...Shortly after the salad arrived, out comes the baked meatballs. They were about the size of a small baseball! Covered in Bolognese sauce with traditional carrots ? The sauce tasted so similar to my OWN Sunday Ragu that I fill with vegetables and 3 varieties of meat that I simmer for 6 or more hours. This sauce was that same dark red near mahogany color that says that all the natural sugars have come out of the tomatoes... if you've never had long cooked vegetable and meat red sauce, you gotta try it at Toscana's and your opinion of a sweet tomato sauce will change!My hubby's short rib Tortollina came with roasted mushrooms and a horseradish hinted side of Marscapone cheese (soft white Italian cheese similar to cream cheese). After the first taste it sounded like he was purring like a kitten because he was so pleased, he eventually started to dip his meat filled pasta into the Marscapone that he had ordered on the side due to a previous bad horseradish experience. He reported that the creaminess just enhanced the mouth feel and taste. When I sampled it with the huge roasted mushroom chunks it vaguely reminded me of an Italian style beef stroganoff! Very yummy in my opinion.When my plate of gnocchi in a cream sauce with peas, roasted mushrooms and HUGE pieces of lobster claws was presented, I thought that I had died and went to heaven! The gnocchi were so very soft and pillowy and surprise filled with cheese. OMGOSH where has this luscious dish of rich cream with a hint of spice/heat been all my life?!?! The lobster pieces literally melted in my mouth and tasted fresh, not water logged at all! The cream sauce left a nice and comforting sensation while the mushrooms were roasted perfectly and were meaty.I could not eat my whole dish and when Phillip returned to ask us if we wanted dessert I could not resist when he said lemon/citrus Ricotta Cheesecake with mountain berries. (Ricotta is an Italian version of the US's cottage cheese but way smaller curds.) Whenever I hear Ricotta Cheesecake I jump on it, cuz the texture is heartier than cream cheese and they are typically less sweet.I could not get over how clean everything was! And their decor is typical of an Italian Cafe'.The prices were reasonable for the quality of the food but they were not cheap. I would consider our overall experience as delightful.Don't worry Toscano's we'll be back!Vegetarian options: There is a wonderful beet and blue salad that I want to try, as well as a vegetarian risotto.Wheelchair accessibility: The handicap stalls are very close to the front door which reduces the amount if time spent in the elements. There is a van accessible stall in addition to a regular handicap stall. The sidewalk ramp is shared by both.“

“I stopped in for a Stromboli calzone. It was delicious! The crust was delightfully flaky and crispy and the innards were lovely. The side salad was Unnecessary. Our waitress was very sweet. “Hubby wanted to try something different so we decided to explore beyond our Burien bubble. This place is a gem. We shared the pear and gorgonzola salad. They split it to two plates which was nice. We also had the Pompeii but added sausage. The sausage is delicious.I saved room for dessert and we had the Nutella calazone. If you love Nutella as I do, well worth the calories. It is so good. Save room.Service was great. As said, a gem in Des Moines.“

“Vince's Italian food was okay. The staff was very friendly, myself I prefer a little more spice in my Italian food, I couldn't get what I wanted so I had Italian meatballs and spaghetti. What I really wanted was a seafood fettuccine as they had shrimp fettuccine, so I asked the staff if they could add other types of seafood they had on the menu to my fettuccine and I will pay the increase in price, but I was told that was against Vince's policy. The atmosphere was very nice, but I probably won't go back the last time I was in one of the Vince's restaurants was over 30 years ago. And I can cook very well myself it's just nice sometimes when somebody else does the cooking but if I'm paying for it I would like to get what I want.“

We came the day before St. Patrick's and they had fresh (still warm!) soda bread. “I live right by Romio’s and go fairly regularly. It’s one of the best pizza spots in Renton. The ownership has changed hands at least a couple times in recent years but the people who run it now are great! My big nitpick is that the prices have skyrocketed astronomically. The prices have been altered at least twice in the past few months and have gone way up. Of course I understand running a business and having to profit but it’s getting to the point where I will have to come much less frequently. My go to meal has jumped over $10 just in the last 3 months. Everything on the menu is much more expensive. The food is great, the service is great, but ultimately the prices will keep me away and this will be a 3-4 times a year place instead of at least once a month. I hope they revisit their pricing and drop back down to past prices. I can’t imagine with prices where they were a few months ago they weren’t still turning a profit. My $20 meal in the past is now around $32. Be prepared to spend.“

“I had take out for 3 meals. Linguine with scampi, spaghetti with meat sauce. Fettuccini Alfredo with added mushrooms on the 1st and last meal. I Live appx 2 1/2 miles away from the restaurant. We opened the meals after I got home and all 3 were cold. After re-heating them they were really good. The only complaint we had was the mushrooms didn't really ever leave that sort of brick appearance? that and that they need to give a little bit more time between getting a salad and getting the main course of the meal brought out. I admit I was a bit skeptical when I walked in but was pleasantly surprised when I opened the box and the pizza looked extremely well put together and tasted even better than it looked! It had just the right amount of meat/veggies that seemed perfectly placed and not greasy at all. Totally worth trying!“
“Pallino has a good range of meals despite being a small place. I had a pepperoni which was fresh and the right size for a quick meal. The ingredient mix was great but I wish they’d out a few extra slices of pepperoni. Service is ok, though they kept reopening pizzas to check what order they were for - something they could improve on. The place has no own seating area so one must find a table in the public food court. I’ll try their calzone pizza next time.“

“Great thin crust pizza, quick service and plenty of places to sit. Every now and then we order a whole pizza to go cuz 1 slice is pretty pricey so we get our money's worth and just buy a whole pizza. The slices are pretty big, I rarely order their pastas or salad but I always order a couple sides of the marinara to dip my cheese pizza slice into. IMO this is the best pizza in auburn which is weird cuz its mall pizza but as selena gomez says "the heart wants what it wants." :]“
