“My wife and I stumbled across this gem by accident and I couldn't be happier we did. Great atmosphere, a deep bar if you're into alcohol, fabulous service, but above all, the butchery. I didn't take a photo of my wife's NY steak, which was excellent, but I did take one of my 9oz coulotte which was cooked to perfection and was absolutely delicious. The crushed potatoes are also not to be missed, cannot recommend this place highly enough!“

My only complaint is that the food is actually so good that I find myself over eating to the point my eyes are bulging out of my head, and then I still order dessert. They're also dog friendly (they don't serve food, just have rotating food trucks). I am sober-ish and I'm always able to find root beer or kombucha available for those days I want zero alcohol.“

“Pretty chill place. Good drink selection and the service is good. Went to a couple birthday gatherings there. The outside area is nice and has plenty of seating. I wish they had more heaters though. “Alive with friends, it is a quintessential local watering hole. The food is okay, but a few tweaks could help it. For example the hamburger comes on a roll that is too big, usually dry, hard, and simply doesn't add to the experience, no matter how much care goes into the patty. In general the menu is tired and doesn't get much attention, even though it is a big part of the ale house. There is a new place going in across the street, related to Ridgewood by the Red Mill Burger joint. Competition is welcome and needed, but I feel the pricing at the new place will be high, like Ridgewood, and the regular Ale House crowd will stay put. The Ale House clientele seems to be in the 50s. I like it in general, now lean more on the tap beers and eat before coming in.“

“This place is amazing. In my trip I had the luxury of Cierra as my waitress, the term waitress is used loosely as she knew the menu perfectly and had the most amazing customer service.
