I'm always on the look out for a good Jian Bing. Its such a classic Chinese comfort food, so I was excited to see that this place existed in Alderwood Mall. I only got the traditional because that's all I really need. To be honest this really isn't close to what I would find at a street food stall back in China. It's similar but just missing something. While I was initially disappointed since it was everything I hoped it to be, the flavor of the crepe is still good. The sauce inside of it is sweet yet savory, and the outside crepe is soft and contrasts the inside crispiness. Though I do wish maybe they added some more green onion to lettuce.I think the other flavor options could be tasty and would be worth checking out as a mall snack.

Ordered the ham and cheese which was exactly what a ham a cheese would taste like lol. Debated on the Peking duck but got the crispy chicken one instead. That was pretty good, it tasted like a katsu burrito. The gentleman making the pancake/crepe was so skilled. Very cool spot to check out while shopping!

This place is a must have for my family during mall trips, form the amazing food to the amazing people it is something that we can't forget. We always get the duck and/or the chicken and it never disappoints. My younger brother is always mesmerized when watching the food get made and all the time is asking for the duck burrito in the mall. All in all I would definitely recommend.

It took about 8 minutes to get my pancake. They make it right infront of you and there was one person in front of me. The inside of the pancake was a lot for me. The flavors made me ooo feel a little icky afterwards. I had the veggie pancake and I think if I had less sauce/ dressing it would've been a lot better. The cashier and cook were very kind though!

I’ve never had anything like this before and was glad to try it here. It was bigger than expected and was very flavorful. Friendly staff and I was glad to try the crispy chicken pancake. The cheese was an optional add on, I could’ve gone without it. I would definitely recommend this spot and come back

Loved it! Tried the ham & cheese and it was SO cheesy, they don't shy on the ingredients at all. $9 or so for a huge pancake, very worth the money. Also saw the chef make a couple of the chicken pancakes and the portion sizes were consistently generous. Would pick this stall over the options in food court any day.

Dinner and a show. As fun to watch get made as it is to eat, Mr. Simon's is a new reason to go to the mall. The crispy chicken was half chicken and biscuits, half tenders and ketchup, and all delicious. I'm looking forward to trying all the flavors!

I ordered the pancake with duck. It was delicious. Kinda like eating Peking duck with crepe instead of the soft buns. They used the same hoisin sauce used in Peking duck and added this layer of crunchy something that gave it texture. I'd come by and buy again

Ordered the Peking Duck Pancake and it hit the spot. Wait was 10 minutes for order but this means it was freshly made. The sauce was spicy but good, just the way I like it. Would not even notice place if someone did tell me about its location in the mall. Will definitely be back next time I'm in the area! Definitely recommend.

Simon's Chinese pancakes are delicious. A great addition to Alderwood mall, bringing a very well know and loved cultural favorite to a the area. When I am in line people have told me how it was a traditional breakfast made at home before school or found at street vendors. That is special to me to hear customers linking food to memories, especially other cultures than my own. I get ham and cheese ( personal prefer no ranch) when I want breakfast or lunch. I get a kimchi with extra crisp for a snack/treat. Don't get me wrong these are huge I can only eat half, so I get lighter sauce to keep it from getting too soggy. Their homemade honey fruit tea is a great drink option. Though being so close to Braganza bubble tea, most people may not even think to order it. My girls got the beef box and thought it was yummy, though somewhat greasy so grab extra napkins.

I personally like the Shanghainese style onion pancakes compared to the Taiwanese style ones here. But they do have the sweet sauce from Asia as well as an original bbq sauce available to those who want to try. Tastes amazing!!!!

Had been wanting to try chinese pancake for awhile but I was a bit disappointed. I ordered the cheese and ham pancake because it's apparently one of the most popular options. The actual pancake was softer and chewier than i was expecting, which wasn't a bad thing. But the inside of the pancake had an overwhelming amount of cheese, which completely overshadowed the limited amount of ham there was. The flavoring wasn't very vivid either, just really cheesy. The pancake was pretty sizable, but my stomach felt heavy after getting through half of it. I did appreciate that it's made to order and was really warm and fresh. Maybe I'll try another flavor next time.
