I've only ordered from here a couple of times, but so far the experience has been pretty good. The chicken fried rice I had was one of the better ones I've had in a long time (for the price point). The chicken was the most tender I've ever had in a fried rice. Will definitely be ordering it again soon.

Great menu items and nice cozy ambiance. I ordered chicken wings, Mongolian beef, and one of their soups. Rice was a bit overcooked. Did not offer proper utensils or napkins. I'll come back and review other items. Overall good place to eat.

Have gone here for over 10 years and food WAS good, got take out tonight for the first time in about a year and the food has gone downhill dramatically. We couldn't eat two of the dishes because the fish sauce was so strong and the chicken tasted very old and the food was lukewarm. I also took over 40 minutes to make. Very sad as I like to support restaurants on the island but we will not be going back.

Anise Thai Cuisine is a great gem find on Mercer Island. My friends and I came here last week for dinner on a weeknight and were glad we did. The only downside about Anise is that the parking lot is VERY tight, especially during peak hours. You may be waiting a while for a spot as Anise shares parking with the rest of the strip mall tenants. Note that the entrance to the lot is off of 77th. I ordered the PAD KHEE MAO with chicken ($16). My companions ordered the PAD SEE EW with chicken, the GREEN CURRY, and the Northern Thai Ground Chicken Curry (I forget the actual name of this dish on the menu, but it's listed as one of the most popular curries in northern Thailand). Dishes were definitely reasonably priced, considering that it's Mercer Island. I thought it was strange that our waiter didn't ask us for spice levels, but I guess I could have clarified how spicy I wanted the dish. Regardless, the PAD KEE MAO was very good and came with lots of fresh veggies including bell pepper, onion, and tomato. In terms of heat, the dish was maybe a 2 star in spice level. Portions were large and they gave a very generous amount of chicken. It was definitely enough for at least a meal and a half. I'd say that their version is comparative to other Pad Khee Mao I've had at other Thai restaurants on the Eastside, but I'll have to ask for more spice next time. My friends enjoyed their dishes as well with no complaints. One of my friends said the curry had more heat than she was expecting though, so perhaps the curry dishes are more like a 3 star in spice level. Service was good. Our waiter was attentive and we received our orders within 15 minutes after ordering. In terms of atmosphere, Anise is warm and cozy. It's also both casual and trendy, making it perfect for getting together with friends. Bathrooms are clean. Overall: 4/5 for food, 4/5 for service, 4/5 for atmosphere.

Restaurant is understaffed, ok food, nonexistent service, management/ownership doesn't seem to care... pick some other Thai place would be my advice!

We walked in for lunch and ordered Basil Chicken Rice, Tom Kha and Fried Spring Rolls; what an epicurean delight. The soup was spicy yet fresh and flavorful. The Rice was full of veggies and softly fried chicken and the Spring Rolls were crispy but their delicious contents spicy and full of interesting flavors!I can not wait to return to sample more of theses delicious meals from the menu!

Love this place- it's our celebratory pick up food location, Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve, other special occasions. Quick and delicious. Pad Thai with chicken is our favorite.

My friends and I finished playing sports and we were super hungry and tired and wanted to look for a good place to eat nearby Mercer Island. When we got there, it was near closing and empty, but the waiter still let us dine in despite being originally reluctant. I got the Chicken Phad See Ew which was very flavorful and relatively spicy, but could be spicier for max spice. My friends got Chicken Phad See Ew which I had a taste of and it was also very yummy, it was sweet and a little sour, and the noodles were soft and easy to eat. The waiter was extremely helpful and friendly despite it being close to closing, which I highly respect. My group and I recommend this place if you're in the area!

Order chicken pad see ew and we got like 5 pieces of noodles. Big chunks of broccoli lots of carrots, no noodles.

Love the fried rice from Anise Thai. We usually get the chicken fried rice, 2 stars spice, and added vegetables, and it's so good! The stir fry vegetables and chicken dish is also great. We haven't tried anything else from here so can't speak to the other dishes but they do these dishes well! The staff is always nice and they're very quick with take-out orders. Highly recommend if you're looking for fried rice on the island!

This place is delicious!!! My husband and I have both been to Thailand and miss their incredible food and this place fills that void.Do yourself a favor and get the Khao Soi. The flavor is deep and delicious. We can't wait to come back when it's raining.

Not sure why this place isn't rated higher, the food was excellent and the staff was wonderful! Only been once but the khao soi was maybe the best I've had since last in Thailand and the other dishes were excellent. We'll be back!

The food here is hit or miss. Inconsistent portion sizes, flavor, and quality. It takes them forever to complete a simple order. This time, I was told it would be ready in 30 minutes, but it actually took 45.The lighting in the restaurant is bright fluorescent — better suited for an office or store than a restaurant. These guys should just shut this restaurant, let Pon Proem take the north end Thai business and allow a new and better restaurant to take the space.Parking: Limited parking available in the Tabit Village lot.
