Wow, cutting edge sound system and i suspect some of the singers were pro's because a lot of them sounded like it. This place has always had strong drinks and they still do!

I wish I could give zero stars. We had a horrible experience. There was a group that was leaving this bar and decided to punch my husband. It was the scariest experience I have ever had and the staff, nor anyone there helped or called the cops. It is in a very unsafe location, and only takes cash, which that alone is suspicious. For your safety, I highly recommend to stay away from this place.

The food is great priced for what you get. The drinks are strong, if you're into that. I've had so much fun here anytime I've gone. Great and fun place. Karaoke is amazing and some of the regular karaoke goers are so fun too. The culture of a good bar includes its regulars so this is just wonderful

We came in with a group for karaoke and had a terrible experience. The woman running the karaoke was beyond rude to us right off the bat, we continued having fun and dancing and cheering on the singers anyways. We spent money and tipped well, had absolutely no issues with anyone during the hour or so we were there. As soon as the music shut off the karaoke Karen came over and started YELLING at us that we needed to move to the back bar. Everyone in our party works in bars and restaurants, we are super understanding when it comes to stuff like this, however, it is absolutely not cool to scream at us the second the music stops. She literally could have just said the same thing and we would have happily obliged. I told her we would move no problem but not to scream at us. She called me a "fat c*nt"! The bartender came out from the back and hustled over to me like I did something wrong. I was not belligerent or violent, I didn't even say anything bad back to the horrible karaoke woman. I asked the bartender who I could talk to, to remedy this situation and was told the owner wouldn't care and I could talk to a manager but I got the impression they wouldn't care either. The Clipper has always been a dump but this is next level. Apparently it's ok for the staff there to speak to guests this way and when they do you just have to take it. I don't know if this person was waisted or on drugs but it's definitely not a safe atmosphere.

I'm a Brazilian traveler who spent about 8 months living in Olympia last year, and let me tell you, the Clipper is where the magic happens! No place on Earth hooked me up with friends like this joint did—it's practically my second home. The crew at the Clipper? Super friendly, like, the friendliest folks you'll ever meet in any bar. And let's talk about their karaoke hosts—they're hands down the coolest in Washington and maybe even the whole wide world. I've swung by three times since leaving Olympia, and each time, it's a blast at the Clipper.Oh, and if you're LGBTQ+, this place is totally chill. No vibes of exclusion here—everyone's welcome. I always felt safe, too. Bartenders got your back, even had an ex go nuts on me once (seriously, she's a bit crazy), and the Clipper staff had me covered. They even kicked her out, major props!I can't express enough love for this spot, and I'm pumped to bring my Brazilian buddies for a good time. And seriously, don't forget to grab a Jell-O shot—it's a game-changer! ?

I always feel welcome at The Clipper! They have specialty liquors you can't find everywhere, for good prices. The staff is always friendly and fast! This is the best sound for a karaoke bar I've ever heard. The karaoke hosts are friendly and encouraging. It's the prefect place to try singing for the first time. Some of the regulars are really good too! It's just a fun place to be. It's an original Olympia favorite for good reason. It's also one of the only places for late night snacks.

Definitely favoritism in who gets to sing. Been here a few times now and they let you sing the first song after a short wait, but any other song takes 2-3 hours. Might as well leave after singing one.

Great dive bar, very affordable! Karaoke is six days a week from 9 pm to close. Great staff, drinks, and food. They have food specials, which are usually the best thing on the menu. It is very LGBTQIA+ and women friendly. At least half the staff are women or LGBTQIA+. The security is great and they don’t put up with bullying. There is a sense of community for those you want to go and sing regularly. Highly recommend.

This place should not opened still. First off the atmosphere is really not welcoming to new comers. When you try to point out any hate speech you get 86d on a dime. This place IS NOT LGBTQIA friendly. There are soo many other bars that do it better. Certain karaoke hosts play favorites and if you are not in their clique then Goodluck getting a song in. The main bartender over serves which is a huge issue.

I have been going here for 2 and a half years, and it's been a sinking ship since. Like my experience started off really positive but once you start to peel back the layers of disorganization then you start to see what's really wrong with the place. First and for most the illicit drug use is killing this bar. Main bartender starts flings and relationship with regulars which is highly unprofessional. When people have legitimate safety concerns they get asked to leave by the owner... It is honestly sad and ridiculous in a community that boasts that they are LGBTQIA friendly... However the food is good though and if you get the right bartender they will do their best to keep you safe... The over serving has been causing problems... I can't even drink rum and coke anymore because the main bartender doesn't know how to pour a proper drink to save his life. This bar is tanking and losing money fast... Now another concern is the overall atmosphere like the ambiance of the place is that of a high school cafeteria for adults. The sound system is not the best and honestly it depends on who is DJing on any given night. This is unfortunate because there are not a lot of solid karaoke bars around the area... Management needs to make a change and fast the overall future of this place depends on it... It is a bars job to ensure the safety of every patron that chooses to spend their hard earned money. Right now your money is better spent elsewhere honestly. The one star is food it's the only thing at this point that is keeping this place going... Mark my words if the Liquor control board came in they would have shut this place down a long time ago...
