The food is actually not Vegan or Vegetarian friendly. We pulled up the restaurant to find out that the Rice and beans are cooked in Chicken broth.Do not recommend for practicing Vegan/Vegetarians. There is just no 'Visible meat' in the "Vegetarian Dishes".

My family has been going to El Rancho Viejo for generations. And there is a clear reason why. The food is amazing. Takeout and Dine in is super fast, and they always treat us with care and respect. Great vegetarian options for my wife allow me to guiltlessly order some Carne Asada. Some of our favorites we recommend: Arroz Con Pollo, Fried Jalapeños, Enchiladas (chicken or cheese), any of the soups, Avocado tostada, Taco Salad, Carne Asada, and Chicken Mole!Vegetarian options: Great vegetarian options for my wife allow me to guiltlessly order some Carne Asada. Big pro: we have never had a mess up with our 1 person vegetarian and 1 person meat orders. Some of our vegetarian favorites we recommend: Cheese Enchiladas, Avocado tostada, Taco Salad, and Fried Jalapeños!

Great food. The Birria beef is a rare find on a menu and was very good. Also had the chili relleno and pork tamale also very good. Lunch came with rice and beans and chips and salsa. The salsa is excellent. Friendly staff. More food and less expensive than the food carts down the street. Worth a visit!
