out of all the fine dining places in seattle, this doesn’t necessarily have the best food, but it undoubtedly has the best service and atmosphere. i appreciate that there is a formal dress code as it really elevates the ambiance of the meal. the service is truly unmatched; you feel very welcomed and the staff takes care of every aspect of your experience. the view is probably one of the best in seattle. however, for the price point, the food is merely good. there certainly were dishes that blew my mind, but this was maybe 2 out of the 10 dishes we tried. the drinks again were good, but not particularly special. again at this price point i would expect the food and drinks to be more singular.

On my first visit to a fine dining establishment in Seattle, I was treated to a truly exceptional experience. Despite the set menu, the staff graciously accommodated our requests, showcasing their dedication to personalized service. From the moment we arrived, the valet and welcoming staff set the tone for a memorable evening. Each expertly prepared course was a masterful fusion of rich flavors, with every bite a testament to the chef's culinary artistry. The entire experience was a symphony of warmth, elegance, and gastronomic delight.Note : This is not a traditional dining experience in Seattle so make sure to dress up with suits, sport coat and dresses.Vegetarian options: They have a vegetarian set menu.

I want to know why the employees at this place ignore people when they enter the establishments? I went to talk to an Asian employee and he pretended he wasn't listening to me three times. Do I need to wear a suit and tie or be an authority figure for someone to answer me? The Asian man looked at my face and ignored me!

The service was amazing, like a well choreographed, but not overly formal dance. The food was of course amazing I love you spectacular. We never felt rushed and felt incredibly well taken care of. Of course be prepared to leave a hefty amount there but one would not go here without knowing that.one nice thing was that we went to her birthday meal and were unable to get in on my wife’s birthday, but put our names in on the waiting list and several days prior and opening on her birthday appeared and we were able to change our reservation so that might be possible.

Service and atmosphere was top notch. All food was good, except the dessert. Could have found a better cheesecake at the Cheesecake Factory. Cacao Nougatine was equally bad. They accommodated all my dietary restrictions.

Absolutely incredible dining experience. Was fortunate enough to attend a dinner lecture series in the upstairs section. Some of the most delicate and delicious cuisine I have ever had. Most amazing salmon I have ever tasted.Dietary restrictions: Staff were very considerate and careful to ask about dietary restrictions and offered vegetarian/options for their set menu

Still good service and a nice view, but the food keeps going downhill and fast. Butter for the bread service was clearly rancid. The soup was cold and dried on top. Venison was tasteless and so-called "wagyu" was un-chewable. No wine pairing!?! We will not be back. It's sad to see the decline of the icon.

Service and atmosphere are top notch. If you have dietary preferences and sweet tooth however, the dessert is a complete let down. We had what was on the tasting menu, which was good, but not 5 stars. My husband got poached apples and pears... That was very disappointing and not a high not we were hoping for to end the meal. The staff was wonderful.Dietary restrictions: If you have dietary preferences and sweet tooth however, the dessert is a complete let down.

The food tastes just as mediocre as it did last year. The dishes haven't changed much, but the plateware is very pretty. They lack creativity in all of the dishes. It seems like they are working with the best ingredients but don't have the skills to elevate them. Also, I asked for my meat to be cooked a specific way, and it wasn't. I didn't ask for it to be corrected since it happened last time, and I had to send it back twice, I didn't want to bother this time. It's unfortunate because the atmosphere is amazing. We will be returning to the lounge area to listen to the piano. Just because a place has a good reputation does not mean the food is good.

The one thing that stands out for me is their attention to detail. Everything is so meticulously planned and you are treated like royalty while you dine here.Food was great. Couple of items didn't quite hit the note with us. But that's just nit picking.View was amazing. We would have liked a seat where we sat facing each other rather than adjacent. They arranged a tiny cake as well as we were here to celebrate a birthday.Would definitely visit again for another special occasion.Parking: Valet parking available. No worries there.

Canlis stands as an epitome of culinary excellence, and my recent dining experience (Jan. 2024) was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I stepped into the restaurant, I was enveloped in sophistication and warmth. The panoramic views of the city set the stage for the experience. The menu was masterful, clearly the finest ingredients. What truly set Canlis apart was the genuine passion and dedication of the entire team. Their commitment to creating unforgettable moments, infusing every interaction with warmth and authenticity. Any interests you express, the staff takes notice. I even got to meet the chef along with a tour of the kitchen. Canlis was more than a meal, it was an unforgettable five-star experience. Sorry it took so long to write the review ?

Loved most of the non-menu courses, with the major exception of the Canlis salad, which doesn't fit with the menu, was overdressed, had limp lettuce and was salty. For ordered courses, I had the sablefish which was delicious but not an impressive preparation. Then the sea bream escabeche, which was a failure - overcooked (fish was dry), vegetables were not well incorporated with fish. Vanilla parfait dessert was lovely. Service was great after our somm stopped being an impatient jerk. Setting can't be beat!
