One of the classic wineries in Seattle, the owner is from China, so the name is red envelope. The type and flavor of beer is still mainly American beer, but there will be some special wines.

Great beer with novel options and old stand bys.

Awesome, chill brewery with a great selection of sours and interesting flavor combos! I really liked the Pineapple Passionfruit Lemonade Sour and my friends enjoyed their IPAs. Plenty of seating both indoors and out, as well as the usual brewery amusements like board games and merch for sale.

My personal favorite of all the Ballard breweries! Great beer and awesome owner and staff.

Great brewery. Fast and friendly service. Flights available, the tray is for 8 beers but they are individually priced so you can get as little or as much as you want. Nicely decorated. Very clean. Indoor and outdoor seating.

No food trucks around. Wished they had some food options of their own. We went to another place for food and beer, but did come back to try the beer at Lucky Envelope and I have to admit it was better than the first place we went to.

Lucky Envelope Brewing was not on my radar AT ALL. But after getting the recommendation from multiple beertenders I knew I had to stop by. Lucky Envelope Brewing is a family-friendly craft brewery in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle, Washington. Their brewing philosophy is centered around "Culturally Inspired Beer". The brewery's recipes draw from modern and historic brewing styles and techniques. I got a flight of their beer and was impressed by the quality and ingenuity of flavors. Peanut Butter Cream Stout: A Cream Stout infused with real Peanut Butter. Smooth nutty flavors flow with the chocolate and roast of the base stout. Not in your face sweet, but just enough to bring back memories of PB chocolate ice cream. As a PB lover, I loved this beer. Italian Pilsner: An Italian-Style Pilsner brewed with Weyermann Eraclea Malt that was grown off of Italy's Adriatic Coast and hopped with Saphir and Hallertauer Mittelfrueh during late, whirlpool, and dry hopping. Crisp like a lagger, strong hop bitterness and spiciness. A great version of the Italian Pils. Halo Halo: A Sour made with Ube, Mango, and Coconut. I'm not usually a giant sour beer guy, but this was my favorite beer of the bunch. Reminded me a little of a tropical lassi drink with nice sweetness that wasn't cloying and strong mango / coconut flavors with just a medium-low acidic tartness. Helles Lager: A Helles that checked all the boxes of what you are looking for in a good Helles style lager. _____

Red envelopes, more commonly known as Hong Bao (in Mandarin) or Lai See (in Cantonese), are monetary gifts presented by elders at social and family gatherings to the younger generations. The red envelopes symbolize good luck, prosperity and are thought to ward off evil spirits. Lucky Envelope Brewing was born from the owner’s cherished memories of these gifts growing up, and particularly around Chinese New Year. Our favorite two beers were the “Tropicoolship” and their “Raspberry Sour Ale.” Tropicoolship is a barrel-aged sour that’s funky (in a good way) and peachy. The Raspberry Sour Ale is perfectly tart with lots of raspberry nose and flavor. Lucky Envelope Brewing makes a wide variety of traditional and modern brews, but as this is a Melissa post – I stuck with sours.

I really want to love this place. The beer is great. Atmosphere is great. Food truck selection is great, but wow....point of sale efficiency is borderline infuriating. The line to get a beer is nearly 20 minutes. With at least 5 other breweries right next door, it's an easy way to bleed customers

The pandan almond milk stout and halo halo sour were two of the best beers I’ve ever had! Honestly so impressive!

6th and final stop on our "pub crawl". We all were looking forward to this stop because they were the only place that had a pumpkin beer on tap. Unfortunately this was the only beer that we tried, because most of the other offerings were IPAs, sours, or just too hoppy for us. The style of this pumpkin beer (cream stout) is one we haven't seen too often. Two of us thought the beer had good flavor and picked up subtle spice characteristics, but I just couldn't get any of it no matter how hard I tried. We took home a four pack to enter in our annual pumpkin beer tasting party, so time will tell how it ranks. Our 6 stop pub crawl adventure was a great way to spend our last day in Seattle. Now we're heading to hopefully enjoy a nice dinner before our flight back to Central California tomorrow morning.
