I grew up in Louisiana so I was really excited about this place. The atmosphere and service were great, and after starting off with the bread and cajun butter we thought we were in for something really special. The entrees were okay, but underwhelming for the price. After dinner I got the beignets, they were burnt and crispy and tasted like they were fried in really old oil. Long story short, not worth the cost and quality control should be better.
Restaurant was undergoing repairs (02/25/24). No beers on tap. Sunday brunch menu was significantly limited (no soup/bisque, gumbo, jambalaya). Prices have crept up unreasonably high. Shrimp and grits = $24 and side of collard greens = $12, but both tremendous. I am rooting for this place to be successful.

This is my first time here. Very nice rustic place and lends to a comfortable atmosphere. The sazeracs where great. The gumbo really wasn't gumbo, but it was good anyway. It's hard to find real gumbo in Washington. I saw someone with a poor boy sandwich and it was huge. Nice people. I will likely go back. Remember, Washington foodies, the law changed requiring a living wage with servers getting around $20/hour. There is no longer a requirement to tip to supplement server income....read full review
