“We had their thanksgiving dinner for 8-10 which had plenty of food. The scalloped and sweet potato sides were excellent. We were a little disappointed in the collard greens, but their smoked turkey and pecan pie made up for any shortcomings. We had 7 adults and 4 kids and still ended up with plenty of leftovers. We'll definitely be getting it again next year.“

“These tamales are absolutely fabulous. We bought a whole slew of them for friends and family for Christmas. They made the perfect gift and everybody raved about them. The only thing I will say, is they say they take about an hour to cook but we found longer than that with a pretty intense steam, was what it needed to get the masa dough cooked all the way through. we love the jalapeño and cheese the best but really, you can’t go wrong with any of the flavors. The staff is kind and pick up and ordering is pretty simple if you read all the directions. Don’t miss out on those awesome salsas!!“

The entire process from tasting the food to the execution on the big day was such a breeze. I still think about the food and drinks that we had at our wedding. All of our guests raved about it! Special shout out to the tuna poke tacos because those were definitely a hit. The waiting staff was great as well and they made it seem like we were in a 5 star restaurant. The bartenders were also super nice. “This was our second visit to VJ. We adore the warmth, tough love, and service of the owners, and the lovely, attentive staff. The ambience is chill and relaxed if you go in for an early lunch. Food is always wholesome, fresh, and comes in huge portions. Proving the adage that the best things in life are free, they bring in hot chips, salsa, and a cabbage pico de gallo which we just cannot get enough of!I remember their dishes were more spicy and flavorful the last time we visited. This time they were slightly less seasoned, but that could be entirely because we didn't ask specifically for heat, or order spicy items. Online menu shows old prices. Unfortunately, the restaurant ran out of some pretty big essentials like limes, chicken and steak, because of the busy sunny weekend, but our bartenders made our trip great!
