Stopped in for a cocktail, and to get some food to go. Service was really nice sitting at the bar. Bartender was knowledgeable. It was a nice atmosphere, but also a TV over the bar to entertain a solo diner. So my experience in the restaurant was really nice, thus the 3 stars. Problem was the food. Ordered the rabbit to go. Be careful with this dish. Bones were found while eating, which is not uncommon with rabbit since they are so small and difficult to find. So that still doesn't reduce this to 3 stars. The issue was the seasoning. Someone has been watching too many cooking shows and being told to add more salt. I think they dumped the box in this. All you could taste was salt. It was the saltiest dish I have eaten in my entire life, except for the time I baked cookies and accidental put salt instead of sugar. It was inedible. I would have sent it back, ordered something else and given them a 2nd chance, but as I said, I ordered to go. Maybe this was a one-time fluke, and overall the food is good and not over salted. But my experience was a waste of money for food. A+ for drinks and service. D- for food.

Run.... Don't walk !!! Went here for the first time with my husband for our first year anniversary and this was one of the worst experiences we've ever had. This place had absolutely terrible customer service, seating and food. The bbq shrimp appetizer tasted awful, so I decided to play it safe for my entree. After waiting over an hour for our food, my medium rare steak ended up coming out burnt. I only took one bite and my appetite was completely gone. I'm writing this to hopefully save someone else from wasting their time and money on a place that has surprisingly good reviews.

Recently had lunch here. The host left a lot to be desired. I was standing in front of him and the phone rang. He completely ignored me and took the call instead. A server saw me standing there for several minutes and came over to help me. There was a hair on my napkin and the food was substandard. Muffaletta sandwich and crab stuffed beignet was cold. I know from a former cook they used to be served warm. I talked with a manager and she was dismissive of my concerns. The only thing I took away from my expensive lunch was that my server was fantastic. Still, not worth the money and I won't go back.

Friendly service. I arrived at 6pm and had no problem being seated. Normally if I'm somewhere that has fresh seafood I like to get a half dozen raw oysters. This time my server mentioned he personally liked the grilled oysters so I said why don't I do half and half. The grilled oysters were perfectly cooked! They were like "medium rare". The inside tasted still very soft and tender while the outside you can taste was lightly grilled. The sauce on top was chefs kiss! Then it followed up with everything else. All delicious. Signature cornbread. Delish. Crab beignets. Surprise delight. Crab tasted fresh. Normally I've really only had dessert beignets so this was a treat. Then the main course of the evening the rabbit etouffee. Rabbit was juicy and tender. Would definitely eat here again!

Food and atmosphere are 10/10! A great place in Spokane that's different and offers a wide variety of food options!

Thanks, fellow Yelpers, for recommending this place to me! I was in Spokane for a work conference, looking for a foodie-friendly place to wrap up my trip. I walked across the river to this place (side note: it felt very safe walking there and back from downtown, even at night as a solo female traveler--the restaurant is in a nice part of town). It was a busy Saturday night, and they quoted me a 1 hour 15 minute wait time without a reservation (Note to my fellow foodies: make a reservation! Don't be like me! lol). One note of constructive criticism for the restaurant manger/owner (doesn't affect my review): please put a little heater in the outside waiting area during busy times so people have a warm place to wait. They said you could "wait inside by the stairs" but one hour is a long time to stand against a wall with servers and patrons busily passing by. My feet were tired from walking around town all day, so I mostly waited out on the cold patio (where there were chairs). Brrr! In any case, my wait wasn't nearly as bad as they said, because I was flying solo and said I'd very happily sit at the bar (only about 30 minutes, which ain't bad for a poppin' Saturday night). I got a nice quiet seat by the window, and the bearded barman was very attentive and friendly. I wanted to try as much as possible, so I got three appetizers--the famous cornbread (raved about in others' reviews), the barbecue shrimp, and the fried green tomatoes. The cornbread definitely lived up to the hype--it was more like a dessert than an appetizer. It reminded me of french toast sticks (in a good way!). The fried green tomatoes were very good (if not earth-shattering), and the barbecue shrimp was tasty. I do think the shrimp were just a smidge overcooked (I can't help it, I notice these things), but the sauce they were in was delicious, and the fresh bread was the perfect accompaniment. The bartender consistently asked me how I was doing, which was nice (sometimes, when you're on your own/quiet, it's easy for people to ignore you or forget about you--the bigger parties tend to demand more attention). If you happen to find yourself in Spokane, I highly recommend this place. Good atmosphere, friendly service, and good food. What more could you ask for?

The food is great and the actual restaurant is very cool. The service was slightly off. There was this could-care-less vibe when we were there. I chalked it up to a bad day or whatever - it happens - but got it again when we called to make a reservation. I'd still recommend the restaurant. The food really was great.

If looking to wow your friends/family this is the spot!! I could eat the shrimp and grits until I burst. The gumbo is southern spot on, heat and flavor. Don't question it GET the cornbread, live a happy life!! Staff was funny and friendly. Had a blonde waitress that was speedy and efficient. MUST GO !!!

Food was amazing and the atmosphere was great! Cornbread was delish, as was the fried green tomatoes! We got bacon wrapped shrimp and grits and jambalaya. Both were excellent! Cocktails were unique and delicious as well. The service seemed a little slow, but the room was so enjoyable, we hardly noticed. We will definitely eat here again.

Lack luster atmosphere. There were 3 or 4 customers at lunchtime. I think one was the owners mom is one consumer. A restaurant rescue is needed. The one and only waitress is wearing frumpy clothing. The location is perfect, but they're not using it to their advantage. Will not recommend to good friends.

My only knock is that there could've been more grits with the bacon wrapped shrimp. Grits don't cost an arm and a leg. Just give the people a little moreeeeeee!

I'm absolutely in love with this place! From the ambiance to the service and the food, this place checks all the boxes. I met here with my boyfriend a couple of friends and we were all very impressed. My boyfriend and I got the Catfish w/ cheesy grits & Linguine Carbonara - yum! We also started off with the cajun crab cakes, whipped honey corn bread and hushpuppies! OH & definitely get the beignets for dessert..I highly recommend it all. We will be back for sure!
