Reading other reviews I expected acceptable food and possibly marginal service.Wrong.Very friendly and prompt service on a reasonably quiet Friday night.Bartender gave me her suggestions.Brussel sprouts and clam chowder are my go to if a place has them, and an even platform for reviews on my travels.Sprouts a tad different than I have had but would eat them every day. Very tasty.Chowder I was very happy with and teased my sons as they enjoy it as much as I do.Don't hesitate. It's a gem that should not be missed.“
“Went here while visiting my good ol' hometown. The owner showed us the entire concept and layout. He even gave us a shot & drink on the house. Amazing hospitality and concept. Yakima needs more spots like these -- reminds me of spots in Wynwood (Miami) and Puerto Rico! Great atmosphere and hospitality by everyone at Avenida Cantina! Highly recommend. I had intentions to return but unfortunately had to cut our trip short but I will be returning when I am back in town!“
“Yep, it's a dive bar, but that is sometimes where the best food is made. We met the owners at a Car Show at the Elks Lodge where they were serving up burgers and BBQ from their food truck. They sold out of everything before any of the other Vendors and had to leave early. We talked to them and told them we'd stop by for lunch while we were still in town. Locals were sitting at the bar when we arrived, and we were greeted by Randi the bartender with a cheerful hello and "what can I get you to drink?" Many selections of beer on tap and they were ice cold. We shared the Black and Bleu Burger and Crispy Fries. This was absolutely, by far, the best black and bleu burger we ever had, the onions were grilled and topped with a balsamic glaze. The fries were too the best we've ever had! The only reason I didn't give them a 5 was the interior looked like they are going through a renovation, BUT, it is clean. If I could give it a 4.75, I would. Randi was delightful, the Cook came out and was cordial, happy when I gave him a thumbs up! When we come this way again, this is a definite stop over for lunch or dinner!“
“We sat at the bar and ordered beer and sandwiches. It was a busy lunch time but we were served quickly. They serve a variety of beers and ciders. They are not super heavy on the IPAs. I ordered a cream ale with my sandwich and had a 5 oz stout for dessert.“

“went to continue our 3 year old tradition of going here for my birthday dinner and as always the food was fabulous! I always get the crispy chicken sandwich as it never disappoints. The menu has changed a bit and added some new additions like the Mary's chicken that was so flavorful and delicious. the drinks here are always good too. my go to is usually the farm water. however this time i tried one of the special which was so yum! the egg white foam did take me aback a little as it did have a fishy sort of smell to it. otherwise all was well as usual!“
“A little bummed today, we are 100% Taj supporters and have gone here since the initial owner Jessie and her husband opened it. This was the first time we’ve been back after they closed their buffet for awhile. No rice pudding, which was always a staple with the mango and empty hot food bins, sauce but no meat. They’ve also moved the buffet right in the way to walk into the restaurant, so when there is a line, you can’t get around for the restroom or you have to wait for people to move when you are being seated. I dunno, not a top 10 day there today in my book, however, we’ll still go. I appreciate that they finally reupholstered their booths.“

“We have always enjoyed the non...children experience. Relaxing and no worries.However, we attended our first Tuesday night where the tickets are $5.00 each. I thought we should be able to have the movie experience for about $30.00. Much to my surprise...the food alone was $50.02 which means we spent almost $70.00. The food being chicken strips and fries, sliders w a small pitcher of beer and a Arnold Palmer. It sounds like a lot of food for the $50.00 but it wasnt. That doesn't cover the gratuity either. The movie was fun and we will go again but will have to share our meal as we are a retired couple.“

I wouldn't call this a lounge but more of a tavern. “My husband I went here tonight for a quick bite to eat for dinner and as soon as we walked in people were saying hi and the food was great. Large servings of hamburger, chicken bacon ranch wrap and the fries and tots. Very friendly atmosphere. If we lived just a little closer we would go more often.“
