“My husband and I visited the "Shinsen" sushi restaurant in October 2024. The reason we post this review much later is we just returned home in London, UK. We were very pleasantly surprised from the moment we entered this nice restaurant. The interior design of the restaurant is made from the heart with attention to detail in the theme of the Far East. Next, the friendly atmosphere is created by the restaurant staff. Restaurant chefs prepare dishes right next to you and you can watch it being prepared. During our visit, we tried many dishes and drinks. I must admit that my husband, who is a very picky person and stingy with praise, found the food very tasty and delicious, giving much praises to the staff. I, however, was enchanted by my Violet Eyes cocktail being served "in the fog". We wish this nice restaurant every success.“

“We usually have a good time here, but the food preparer in the front had a bad attitude each time we asked him for something like it was annoying (bigger guy with glasses, Sunday 5/31 around 3pm). One example, we ordered salmon roe and he made a salmon roll, then argued with us like we didn’t know what we were ordering. Please have these food preparers learn the menu and to treat customers better.“

“Sushi very nicely prepared, fresh, and tasty and enjoyed by all members of our party. One person reported that the eggrolls ordered as an appetizer dough and undercooked inside. Another party reported bento as ‘ok’. Service was OK, but not enough chopsticks or napkins were given for the table and we had to ask for more. We would return for the sushi, but maybe not order the non-sushi menu items.“

“For conveyer belt sushi I thought this place was great! Is conveyer belt sushi the best high end sushi in the world? No of course not. Lots of siracha mayo dishes, lots of California roll variations, lots of little sweets and extra things. But if you are looking for the best high end sushi in Vancouver WA, you probably aren't going to a conveyer belt place! I like this place a lot, I've liked everything I've eaten here and the people who work there are friendly and helpful. This is my go place whenever I get the conveyer belt sushi itch!“
