“This little place has a homey feel. It took a moment to learn how it works: there's a large refrigerated case with shelves of menu items packaged to go, which can be heated and served to your table, an unusual approach, but one that worked well. There is a large selection of teas and other packaged food items, and the teacups are beautiful and varied. It was easy to select from plentiful vegan options. We had kichree and tofu curry, along with Beyond momos, which were amazing. The three chutneys were greasy and delicious, served in their squeeze bottles.”

“Why does May's Thai food taste so much better than Thai food in the Seattle Metro area? Is it the country air? Is it because you have to take a ferry to enjoy it? I don't know the answer, but it is delicious! Make May's Kitchen your destination restaurant experience this summer.”

“I had the redfish tacos for take away. The guys in the kitchen were really friendly and the tacos were great. Lots of shredded cabbage.
The tortillas could do with being a little bigger to as the ones included were overflowing! Thanks!”

“Solid Neapolitan Pizza, tried the Margherita (as anyone should for their first try at a pizza joint). Crust was light and fluffy with a light charr, flavor was solid, & no flop/solid undercarriage on each slice. Sauce & cheese were tasty and the whole pizza tasted very fresh!

Also tried their Moscow mule, with house made ginger beer: delicious!

“Beautiful space to spend time with family and enjoy fantastic wine! Their whites in the tasting were top notch "pearlescent" was 10/10. It was a magical experience and will definitely go back. There is one very bad part though - they only supply single ply toilet paper in their bathrooms, so thin you can see through it ? next time I go I am bringing my own personal roll”

“Our family loves Norma’s tacos! If we’re going to be around on Saturday we make sure to find the post Friday with the weekly special and then message Norma the order for Saturday. Always delicious. The taco platter easily feeds our family (2 kids & 4 adults) with left overs. We love the rice & beans and wish we could order a quart of the salsa that she makes for the chips. It’s amazing.”

“Andrew Will makes some of the finest wines around. The winery iteself is beautifully tucked away in central Vashon. If you're coming for a visit, I'd suggest planning to do so in the late Spring or early Summer when the weather is more ideal. The owners are extremely nice and they are wonderful members of our community on Vashon. You can find their wines @ Thriftway!”

“My bf and I are in town for a meatsmithing class and it’s important to us that when we travel we strictly eat foods that support the community that is hosting us. We struck gold today when we visited The Ruby Brink! We left with the Meat & Noodle, as well as the Braised Beef on Rice. Not only was every ingredient locally sourced, both dishes were rich in flavor, excellently and skillfully prepared, and were incredibly satisfying! We felt the love that went into these dishes❤️”

“Been eating at Sporty's before it moved across the street and was called The Islander ran by Pete and Najia Chorak. Pete Jr runs it now and does a fabulous job. Food is wonderful. Prices are very reasonable. Many groups eat there regularly like the church ladies every Tuesdays @ 10 am and the men's group on Fridays @ 11:00.”

“Employees are super nice and friendly both at the coffee shop and gift store area. Such a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere with people sitting outside on the porch. We were driving around and came to a stop sign outside of this place and the aroma of roasting coffee made us pull over and come inside. I would rate their espresso quite high - definitely way above average. Bought some light roast Guatemalan beans and honey.”

Their coffee wasn’t the only highlight—pairing it with one of their fresh, homemade bagels made for a cozy, quiet morning that I hope to return to one day.”

“Can't recommend O Sole Mio enough!

We wanted to treat our wedding guests to late night pizzas from O Sole Mio (one of our favorite spots on Vashon). They typically do dine-in/pick-up, but Chris was kind enough to hand-deliver the pizzas to our Vashon wedding venue. The pizzas were a huge hit with our guests and added the perfect touch to our celebration. We couldn’t have asked for a better late-night (and early morning) snack.

“I think this place is really cute. but the hours are slightly inconsistent and a bit confusing. ALSO! the little seaside chapel has been converted into a free library! I go in to look at books all the time and i love that its there

The staff is super knowledgeable and always ready to recommend something new or hard to find. The laid-back, welcoming atmosphere makes it a great spot to relax and try something different. If you're into discovering great beers in a friendly environment, Pop Pop Bottle Shop is definitely worth a visit!”

“We moved off the island to the east coast almost 12 years ago and Pure was one of my favorite places to get clean, healthy delicious food. Used to walk miles with a toddler on my back. We sold our home to RV full time and one thing I was most excited about was eating here again.

I was so bummed to see it was a new restaurant until I checked the menu and saw the same Buddha bowls on the menu. I was even more overjoyed to see it’s still owned by Stephanie!

Everything was just as I remembered-absolutely delicious! Definitely recommend trying the sorghum! Please support this local business.

“Perfect place for a breakfast/lunch. We came as a large group and had excellent service. The menu choices were varied enough that everyone found something for them. The food was all excellent. Good coffee too! Now off to find a christmas tree.”
