Coffee with Pips visited Emperor's Kitchen on April 16th, 2024 This restaurant is located on the second level of an above-average retail space. The big windows overlook a large parking lot surrounded by several upscale businesses, including Kopp's Frozen Custard, which is a must-go place when visiting Wisconsin. We were seated immediately at a clean table, nothing fancy, however, there was ample room to dine, unlike some restaurants. The decor wasn't anything special, however not distracting either. Only minutes after we were seated, our waitress acknowledged our presence and was very kind. We had a little time to study the menu, and we were very pleased with the selection, the menu was basic, but it did offer a nice selection of items. I ordered the Sesame Chicken Sesame Chicken which is a dish commonly found in Chinese restaurants throughout the United States and Canada. My assistant ordered the Beef Chop Suey, which she appeared to enjoy very much. The Sesame Chicken was absolutely out of this world, not bad at all, I enjoyed the tender pieces of battered chicken coated in sweet sauce and tossed in sesame seeds. The portions were huge, definitely enough for two meals... guess what I'm having for dinner tomorrow? We both ordered a Diet Coke, however, beware... this tasted more like seltzer, not like Diet Coke at all, and at $4.50 each, the small glasses of what was said to be Diet Coke were a disappointment, to say the least. We mentioned this and were told, "Hmmm don't know what could be wrong with it." Because of the high cost of our drinks, and no real concern shown by the staff, is the reason why Emperor's Kitchen earned a 4.5-star rating instead of 5 stars which they would've received if they had taken these drinks off the check. Don't get me wrong, Emperor's Kitchen is a 1-restaurant operation, and we applaud small businesses that struggle to stay in business, but it's the little things that customers remember, and some may be turned off by, resulting in negative feedback. Taking the drinks off the check would have been the right thing to do. But overall, our meals were well worth it, and no complaints, other than the seltzer water we were served. I will definitely visit Emperor's Kitchen again, and I highly recommend this restaurant, minus the sodas, stick with the free water. I have grown up eating here and it’s the only place we get Chinese takeout from when I’m home visiting my parents. Super affordable and always solid. Kung pao chicken, broccoli and chicken, and shrimp chop suey sub gum are favorites.

Went for lunch and the food was very good except the egg foo young was very salty. Our waitress rushed us, packing our food up into doggie bags before we were ready. Also, when we questioned our bills (we had separate checks), the waitress told us that she added the tip onto the bill. If you're going to do that, you should note that on the menu or place it separately on the bill and not include it in each item listed on the check. This, to us, was a scam to get a double tip.

We came here because my grandkids love the pan fried noodles. The rest of the menu is so-so. The kicker is that they charge $4.25 for a soft drink. The manager proudly said we could have free refills. I said we would take the refill to go, along with the dinner-size portions they serve for lunch. He said we had to consume leftovers in the restaurant.

5 of us came for lunch. Food was good & plentiful as always. Service was kind of slow, but they were crowded with only one server. The hostess could have helped.... They pass on the 3.5% surcharge for anyone using a credit card.Wheelchair accessibility: On the 2nd floor. Elevator in the building, so accessible to the handicapped.

This restaurant doesn’t offer a buffet as stated on google maps. No lunch or dinner specials…everything is full price. Additional 3.5% charge when using credit cards. Food is always very good, but not spectacular for the higher prices.

Always Excellent! Fresh food, personable employees. Nice looking, modern, clean & well kept restaurant. Owner pride shows! I have eaten in & more often, takeout for my hungry family. My kids have loved the food, no matter their age(from little kids to adults today). Excellent portions, always leftovers for tomorrow!
