“For DECADES, the Gerndt Extended Family has patronized and enjoyed getting together at Family Table. It was my Parents' favorite place to go and they were very regular customers there. When in town and since I moved back here from Ioea to help care for my parents in their last years, they lived to 95 with Alzheimers, up until the very end I took them to Family Table where we were always treated very well. We especially love the portions having another meal or two to take home, and previously free desserts with the meal which understandably due to the economy even many years ago, that bonus was stopped. But we still love there dessert assortments with me loving their Strawberry Cheeseake! My daughter and I especially carry on our Family Tradition at Family Table, getting together with my son and his wife, my sisters, my nieces, friends. We would love to see them open again on Sundays as it was a great place to go after Church. Hopefully they can get staff to open Sundays again. Even during the Pandemic we loved the way they all learned and properly wore their masks as we continued to patronize Family Table using their carry-out, especially their Friday Night Fish Fries which are spectacular!!! Today, my sister and her husband are here from Lake of the Ozarks near Camden, MO, and where did sister invite us to meet? Yup. Family Table! Great Food, Reasonable Prices, Large Portions, Excellent Service, Wonderful, Comfortable Relaxing. Quaint Atmosphere. I had the Pork Chops Special, w Pork Chops fried covered in mushroom onions gravie meal which included my Baked Potato with Butter and Sour Cream, Salad, and Corn. Super Delicious!!! Every one else's meals were delicious as well. Ehen my Dad and Mom passed away, i told the Manager and staff and they remembered them well and would miss them. I have not been able to frequent the Family Table for several months due to medical issues, but as things get better I/we will be back for sure on a regular basis. Thank you Family Tanle Management and Staff! Great Timrs! I don't think there's a booth or table that we have not sat at through the decades.”

“Classic bar that all the same people have gone to forever. Just like being in a small rural town, but with sirens and car chases going on outside. Low prices, but you need cash, or you are going to have to use the ATM. Typical bar food.”

“This restaurant has a very intimate setting inside (has outdoor seating as well, but since it's fall, it's not open). Service insideis at a bar which seats perhaps 20+ persons. Its really like eating at the chefs table as the kitchen is right behind the bar. I found it to be a unique experience with incredible food. My salmon dish was superb and perhaps one of the best I've had. Served fresh and hot from the kitchen. My husband and the couple we were with had other dishes with pork, beef brisket and salmon. And we all agreed that the meats were tender and juicy and the flavors incredible. Absolutely loved this place.”

“This restaurant has made a lot of changes for the better over the last few years. The order was correct, and food came out fast and hot. Inside, the seating area has a clean, refreshing minimalist feel. Staff was very pleasant.”

“The service was on time, our family could tell the food was made with care, the sandwiches were fixed so pretty hot and fresh with enough portions of meats, toppings and vegetables. The soup was made at a perfect temperature. The fries could be more alive ( thicker/ juicier):) and warm but that’s not their fault; the company could really use a different method or different fries. Unfortunately this was a Dash order because if I could see the people working tonight I would personally thank them. We appreciate your service and care.”

Sampling a few amazing menu items and cocktails prior to walk about. They have some killer skills with Moscow mules and Maggie gave crystal clear directions making sure we were safe! She even gave us some pointers which made our experience all the more rocking and fun! Hailey and Cricket were some of the friendliest bartenders I’ve my near Brady Street! Megawich is a light hearted & fun concept with silly names, but their sandwiches are no joke!! The balanced flavor & textures absolutely astonished my taste buds! Bold spices & seasoning... perfectly executed meat/cheese/sauce ratio, all on a local Sciortino's fresh baked Italian bread! ... “This review is LONG OVERDUE! As a SAHM, this place is my go to. I typically take my daughter once a week and we always have such a good time. I love seeing the same familiar faces each week, I love the fact that they know mine and my daughter's name, and Evan knows exactly how I like my iced latte! It just makes me feel so welcomed and apart of their inviting community! I've been to many other play cafes and this is BY FAR THE BEST! From the aesthetic vibe, to the food/drinks options, the hours (9-7 PM) compared to other places that close earlier in the day, and no blocked times for play so it caters to everyone's schedules. I also really ADMIRE AND APPRECIATE seeing so many different faces and backgrounds. It's just so welcoming to ALL and I will forever be apart of this village!”

“Such a cute spot with very friendly staff and AMAZING food! I love that it’s family owned them having the Safina family as the executive chef was a very cute touch lol. Family photos on the wall when you walk in is also such a cute detail.

We got the bruschetta (with Brussels sprouts which was a fun seasonal spin), pistachio pasta which was so unexpected and delicious, and the shrimp diavolo pasta which is a classic but was done very well and used the top tier bucatini.

As an Italian who lives in Chicago I know good Italian food and this is truly amazing. Definitely worth a visit, we’ll definitely be coming back next time we’re in town!”
