La mestiza is mine and my husband’s favorite mexican spot! We love the Chamorro special, green salsa, and the tacos al pastor. there is usually an open table but would definitely wait if not.
I ate here three times while visiting Madison over Christmas '22. The food was consistently excellent, especially the dishes with mole. I am probably being too strict in terms of quality of service, as some of the difficulties arose from the large number of diners over lunch. But that is itself something positive - proof of how good the food is.
