The one and only is a fine madison, wi restaurant in Monroe street. Parking in the street is usually available before 6 pm. After 6 pm you may need to drive into nearby residential streets. The food is consistently delicious except for most of the desserts. The Keylime pie is always delicious and has big fans. I love bread pudding, however, it was cooked in a very different style that rendered it dry and more crunchy.l - not what I preferred. The appetizers are delicious and varied. The entrées are fantastic most recently the special chicken Parmesan was incredibly tasty and very nicely breaded. I enjoyed the polenta previously, and they were very kind to add some pork belly on top of it, which is a delicious twist. as a homage to prior establishment in the same location, brasserie v, they have a delicious collection of Belgian ales. For those that like brown drinks, they seem to have a pretty good collection of rye and bourbon as well though I haven’t tried it overall this is a great new favorite restaurant and the prices are reasonable for a medium higher end restaurant.Parking: You can generally find parking on the street pretty easily before 6 PM. Things get crowded after six and you’ll have to look for parking on the side streets. You can find parking on the residential streets about one to two blocks away pretty easily.

Excellent food and service, the cocktails were excellent as well. Our server was attentive but not overwhelming. Prices were pretty reasonable, at comparable places you can expect to pay $30-50 more. My only complaint is that entree portion sizes are pretty paltry. If you don't get an appetizer you should probably expect to leave still peckish.

I hestitate to write this review for fear this place gets as popular as it should be. Food tasty, creative, and varied. Great beer list and oysters.Service professional and personable. Ambience welcoming and - best of all - quiet enough for conversation. Would give this 6 stars if I could.Vegetarian options: Starters, salads, pasta.

If you like pretentious service and overpriced mediocre food, this is the spot for you. The atmosphere was gorgeous however and made for a nice photo.

Pros: Okay service, nice people, pretty & clean space. Hashbrown casserole was tasty. Cons: No oysters available on a Sunday during brunch service. I ordered the $19 Shrimp and Grits (with two eggs) to only receive a schmear of grits. I'm not exaggerating. Photo is attached. I took the photo after eating one shrimp and moving the rest off the grits. For $19, this dish should be more than a sampling of cheddar grits. Super disappointing. Taste was fine. Grits were a little runny but the cheddar flavor was good. Overall just an okay experience and nothing special.

Sucked. Three of us went and bill was $200 plus $40 tip, God knows why. After 75 minutes, had only been served appetizers. Manager came over to clean our table thinking we had been served main course. Apps were luke warm. Luckily, main course was better. Did not tempt fate with dessert. Instead of being The One and Only it should One of Many. Never got apology. For $240, left a bad taste in my mouth

Such a cute spot! Service was great, we each ordered a cocktail, entree, and dessert to split. The waiter brought over a complimentary digestif, which was so kind! Both the pork and the duck were very good, very tender. The chocolate mousse was out of this world-- very tempted to keep trying out other desserts in the future, but it'll be tough to beat the mousse. Glad this spot is on Monroe!

Love the atmosphere and the cocktails were the standout for sure. Food was ok...pasta was a little bland and the burger was overcooked but I'd try different things maybe for dinner instead of lunch. We got dessert and the Key Lime Pie was great. Would definitely try again and was overall a good first experience!

Went in last night to support Madison Restaurant Week. The place has a great simplicity vibe & felt a little like home. Our server Jaz was Aaaahmazing! Friendly, information and on top of service. The food was delicious, would love to come back in for that short rib dish if it ever goes on menu. Also look forward to going back for the beers on tap, Duchesse de Bourgogne Sour specifically! Oh, and they even had some a amazing mocktails that my kid could enjoy!
