“Tuy is amazing, she always remembers who I am, remembers my order, and remembers that I have a food sensitivity to avocado. She literally makes my day! I always stop by when the line is short, even if I had other lunch plans. Worth the wait always.“
“WOW! Milo took my order at the state street location, and his service was spectacular. I cannot speak for any of the other employees, but this young man is something special for sure. He answered all of my questions, made great recommendations, and created the perfect bowl for me. My only complaint is that the pickled onions were a bit thick, but that is not Milo's fault.Vegetarian options: Tempeh, tofu, lentils, lots of vegetables and other proteins“
“I placed a togo order. There appears to be no inside seating only seating outside. The order was prepared from scratch and packaged excellent for travel. We found the food very fresh and flavorful. The heat was as advertised and the seasoning balanced well. Great experience.“
“I came to eat here on the recommendation of my boyfriend, who used to be a regular customer here. The dishes we ordered were delicious, the tableware was beautiful, and they even provided hot water, so overall it was very good. I didn't give it five stars because there was a little incident. The Chicken Satay we ordered was delicious, but there were some crispy parts in the middle of two skewers. The texture was a bit bouncy, and I felt like it wasn't fully cooked, which made me worried about parasites, so I didn't finish it and reported the issue to the waiter. The waiter took it back to the kitchen and then brought it out to show me, using the flashlight on the phone to ask where I could see it wasn't cooked. I explained that it was mainly a texture issue. Later, the waiter told us they would report the situation to the kitchen manager and waived the fee for the Chicken Satay. My boyfriend said the waiter seemed to look at me with dissatisfaction at the time. I felt a bit wronged, but we finished all the other dishes because they were indeed delicious. It was just this Chicken Satay that had a strange texture and we left alone. We didn't want to make trouble for no reason, and today we came here to celebrate something happy. In conclusion, this is a restaurant with very good flavors, still recommend to try.“
“Date of visit: March 7, 2024Little store front eatery on Atwood Avenue. Not familiar with the neighborhood and all I saw was street parking. We did park in a little neighborhood about 1 1/2 blocks down; weather was pleasant for a walk.In our party we ordered the Fresh Rolls, Pad Pik Pow with beef, Pad Thai Hor Kai chicken and Drunken Noodles.Fresh Rolls were satisfying. I felt the accompanying peanut sauce was a little thick. I actually enjoyed the rolls better dipped in the remainder of the dressing that was on my side salad.I enjoyed my Pad Pik Pow with beef very much and will order it again. The spiciness was just right. This came with a delicious side salad and I loved the dressing, but cannot put my finger on what components of the dressing were. One daughter ordered the Pad Thai Hor Kai, which she felt was a little too sweet. Presentation was beautiful. My other daughter loves Drunken Noodles and although good, these did not quite meet her standards.Atmosphere of the restaurant is pleasant and it looks like outdoor seating is available in warmer weather.Overall, we enjoyed our experience and I definitely enjoyed my meal. Given the opportunity, I would return.“
“We've been ordering from Thai Basil for years. They are a staple in our family and I'm happy to see them move into the expanded location. I've had great noodles, curries, salads, and appetizers, and the fried rice is easy-mode for the kids.“
“Food is so fresh and delicious! Highly recommend the Laos sausage. It takes about 25 minutes to get home, and the food tastes just like we were dining in the restaurant! The owner is very kind and sweet as well. Looking forward to the next time :)“
“This restaurant was in a little strip mall, and, although my wife is very discerning about where we go out to eat, I wasn't expecting much.I take it all back. Each dish was amazingly good AND the total bill was very wallet-friendly.Dietary restrictions: We have gluten allergies and my wife is sensitive to dairy. We had no issues here.“
“We ordered Sala Thai for the first time ever and got it to-go. When your husband asks, “Do you need some time alone with your food? You’re like moaning,” you know it’s delicious! ??? He got the C6 curry which was the sausage stuffed chicken he said the spice was perfect! Not too hot that it lingered but a nice kick while he ate it. I got the shrimp pad Thai and pad Thai is always hit or miss for me - but here it was a HIT! It came with noodles perfectly done, not all mushy and stuck together, with fresh cilantro, green onion, crushed peanuts and a lime wedge on top. Our baby got the chicken fried rice which was also very delicious! We got the crab Rangoon’s to share that came with the most delicious sweet and sour sauce we’ve ever had and also shared the satay which was mildly marinated, cooked perfectly with grill marks and had a really yummy dipping sauce with a bit of a kick. We will CERTAINLY be eating here again soon! Absolutely delicious!“
“This was our first dinner in Madison and it really set a high bar on what we expected for the rest of our meals during our visit. This Laotian cuisine was appealing and intriguing and seemingly draws influence from other Southeast Asian cuisines such as Thai and Vietnamese. Our group of 14 tried several items: Thai iced tea, vegetarian egg roll, chicken satay, pork tenderloin satay, drunken noodles with beef, Lao Laan-Xang fried rice with combination meat, three mushrooms with tofu, spicy peanut curry with mock duck, stuffed chicken wings, stuffed pork tenderloin, and sweet sticky rice with mango. We thoroughly enjoyed every item but there were a few that particularly stood out. The stuffed chicken wings had vermicelli and pork tenderloin had a blend of herbs and spices. Both were excellently executed and a must-try. Keep in mind that both of these require more time to prepare. We have four young children with minimal patience. Therefore I placed an order for both items while we browsed the rest of the menu. The drunken noodle was a huge hit for us. It is similar to the Thai version except I think this does not have the fish sauce and therefore not having that sour, tangy flavor. The sweet sticky rice with fresh mango was their only dessert for the evening and we ordered three bowls to share. My husband and I are generally not big fans of coconut however we made the exception for this. The coconut was not overwhelming and instead well complimented with the mango, sesame, and sticky rice. Not sure what kind of sticky rice they used but it is very different from the white ones that we usually have. Parking was a bit difficult and we had three cars. We had to circle around the blocks a few times. The staff was helpful and told us there is street parking across the street, parking behind the restaurant, and parking at United Way after 5 PM.“
“Yall went off. It was my birthday weekend and have been away from home for about a decade and only really cook lao/hmong food for myself. I came with my partner and in laws. We got pork belly, crab rangoon, papaya salad, quarter of chicken, sticky rice, and khaopoon with clear broth and the best chicken fried rice. I felt at home and everything was on point. Thank you.“
“Food came in very generous portions and was absolutely delicious. We were left in awe of the Pho broth, Pad Thai, Panang Curry, and the Papaya Salad. Oh and can’t forget about the excellent customer service as well. Definitely will be a go to whenever we travel to Madison!“
