“We stopped in with friends while visiting Mercer over a four day weekend and to say the least we weren't disappointed. Our first impression of the outside pulling up wasn't much... However, the inside is quite exceptional. Such a warm and cozy environment decorated with such detail. Dark woods ornamented with unique hand picked decorations fill the place. It was quite busy for a Saturday afternoon but there still was plenty of room for us to sit. We were seated near the back of the establishment and our server was quick to get us menus and to take our orders. The drinks came out relatively fast and were priced competitively with other similar establishments in the area. We went out back to check out the grounds persay and were surprised to find a creek and wooded area that added to the ambience of the place. We didn't eat there that day, but all agreed the food we saw both offered and being consumed at other tables looked delicious. We will definitely return the next time in town.”

“I was very impressed by the food I love the gyros, my wife got the chocolate chip pancakes and the atmosphere was calm, and very cute decore on the walls! It's a little on the higher end for price but you know what it's the experience to me that matters!”

“First visit to Lake Placid Inn was fun & delicious. Love the authentic "honesty" and relationship building. The sweetest thing you may encounter is the complimentary donut holes. I had the Loons Nest(formerly the Weed Bed) smothered in sausage gravy, bacon, raisin toast, with a perfect Bloody Mary. She had the eggs Benedict with ham. Served piping hot, our food was delicious. We enjoyed the "entertainment" almost as much as our food. If you're into "Hi, my name is ____, I'll be your server today" - this is not your place. If you like Seinfeld, you'll probably enjoy Lake Placid Inn. Hope I don't see you there as I don't like to wait.”

“Turn down your pizza oven. I can wait 5 more minutes. You burnt my crust and my cookies. How are your hours 3.5hrs a day? You will never have a successful Pizza business with hours like that. I can tell this is a side business by how this is ran. Good luck. Throwing my punch card away.”

“Great pizza but serviced SUCKED. OK I know I came in 10 minutes before closing, but the service was horrible because of this. I even tipped $10, and the kid was still grumpy as hell. I stayed polite for the fact that I didn't wanna spit in my food or something. The New Yorker Pizza is GREAT N DEEP DISH!”

“Went for drinks and was surprised by the atmosphere! Staff and guests all had a sense of fun and happiness. Going back when in town. Get a marker and staple gun from the bar to prove you were there, and then try to find your proof next time you visit. Good luck.”

“Food and service were top notch! Large portions, came out hot, and tasted homemade; everything was delicious. We were cramped as a family of 5 at a booth with the chair on the end. I would recommend at least one table with a seating capacity of 6 for the restaurant.”

“Made the mistake of going to Starbucks first. Ordered a double espresso with a splash of cream and got a full cup of coffee. They messed up three times. Went to Caribou and not only were the Barista's friendlier, they got my order right the first time. We will be going to Caribou when we are in Minocqua from now on. Clean, friendly and great coffee”

“Coming here is such a treat. A few pals and I have begun an annual girls trip to a friends cabin in Minocqua, and both years we've stopped here for a prolonged visit to journal, read, and sip away at their coffee. The way to describe this place would be "ultra-homey"-- the staff are all friendly and welcoming. I overheard one of the baristas chatting with a customer about being back from college, which added to the small town feel. They have a great selection of cards, photographs, and paintings from local artists. Both years, I've bought a beautiful card and written a letter to my grandmother on it. It's the kind of place that puts one in the mood to write letters to family. I'll be back next year.”

“My husband and I were craving a fish fry and just happened upon this place on our way through to Wausau. We were both very pleased to be seated by the window overlooking the lake. The interior is classy, our service was fantastic, the food came fast and delicious! We had calamari and walleye bites appetizers. We both enjoyed the fish fry we were craving.”

“North Woods Mexican restaurant that gets it right. The molcajete was as good as any I've had in SoCal. Service was perfect. Chips, salsa, margaritas... Great place.”

“Definitely worth the stop!!! It smells absolutely amazing and have way more flavors than I imagined. I only grabbed the Nutella and the cinnamon sugar mini donuts and they were SO good! I did feel a little sick afterwards but I had so much to eat before these so fingers crossed it wasn't from the donuts haha, I'll be going back when I'm in the area again!”

“Sheri’s the great Northwoods Soup and Salad Bar experience perfect! I was so excited to get there! 2 home made soups that were delicious. A beautifully kept salad bar with perfectly sliced veggies to jazz your salad up. Every wonderful dressing you could hope for plus a yummy pasta salad. Throw a little cottage cheese on top and you will be smiling! Grab the menu and pick from daily specials or menu favorites. Every dish has been spectacular and our bartender was wonderful! Each time we have had a nice and friendly upbeat drink master crafting our bevs. ❤️☀️”

“Pretty solid stop passing through up north. Embodies a proper Irish pub.Food: they’re known for their Ruben sandwiches/wraps. It was pretty good. Huge serving for $16. $3 to swap chips for fries - which are absolute crack. We also got the fried cauliflower for an app - def a recommendation. Now, id stay away from there wraps here. Partner wasn’t a fan - a bit vinegary and bland.Service: it all ended up working out. She wasn’t real focused and making her job a lot harder than it had to be. Nothing terrible though.Atmosphere:Such a cool spot. Plenty of dark hard wood throughout. Big bar. Large booths. Lots of late sunshine pokes in too.”

“Always consistent quality. Went for a treat, and they didn't disappoint! The classic buffet and a few new items. Go during peak time (dinner rush), there's no time for the food to sit under the lamp. In fact, we had to wait a bit for fresh stuff. SO WORTH IT A Much better than the other place in town with consistency.”
