“I stopped by for Friday night supper. Walking in, the bar area overlooked the lake. What a sight! There was also a custom wine rack on the side and the menu offered wine suggestions to complement each entree. I sat at a table. The interior is all wood and was decorated for spring. They had three tempting fish fry specials, but I opted for sauteed shrimp and a baked potato. I ordered an amaretto sour while I waited. The staff was attentive without hovering. My drink came promp. The entree came with a fresh side salad and a breadstick. The salad was lettuce greens layered with vegetables. The sautéed shrimp was 5 very large, perfectly cooked and delicious shrimp. The baked potato was medium-sized, fluffy and light. I finished my meal with the birch brownie (brownie with vanilla ice cream). The brownie was warm and chewy contrasting with frosty ice cream. Bottom line--it's well worth the visit.”

“We were looking for somewhere to have Sunday breakfast and we referred to Lisa’s pub and grub. We had their southwestern omelette and bloody Mary’s food was awesome. If you’re looking for great food go to Lisa’s pub and grub. They have weekly specials also tacos sloppy Joe’s just to name a few. We also had a great conversation with Lisa and Sam.”

“All the buzz about this pub is on point. South of town on the main highway - easy to get to. Very clean and very nice staff highlight the big menu. Apps don't disappoint but the burgers are the big deal. Heard a lot about them and they are very good. Nice place to watch a game or just hang out for a bit. Don't miss this place.”

“A fantastic northern Wisconsin bar, if you haven't been you must stop by! They throw a variety of themed parties throughout the year that are always a lot of fun! The bar is clean and the bartenders are friendly. I love the outdoor space in the summer with great views of the river and the northwoods.”

“Very fun, great service. The staff is great and very attentive. We did spend the weekend in one of the cabins. It was newly remodeled, very cute and comfortable. Make sure you have some Swamp Water, but be careful they are good and can sneak up on you. When you stop in or stay, tell them I said hello. We will be back!!!”

“This is a redemption visit after a not so great one in August. Tuesday night we came with another couple and had a very good meal. All of us had burgers and they were very good, my husband said it was the best he's ever had. Food came very fast, but it wasn't busy at this time yet either. So we had a nice meal and listened to the Bingo game going on in the bar! I would like to see if a beer list can be printed and available to look at while ordering, the waitress told us we could go look at the list at the bar. which we didn't do.”

“There’s something for everyone anytime of year here. My partner and I had a great dinner here on a snowy Saturday night. I ordered a bowl of their homemade soup to start. The soup of the day was chicken dumpling, my favorite! He had a patty melt which looked great and he finished all of it! I also ordered the cherry bomb shrimp and a side salad which made for a perfect light dinner, all while looking out the window to a view of lake nokomis and one of this years first snow falls. The perfect November view. We browsed the extensive winter drink menu also and overall had a great visit. We will be back again soon.”

“All you can eat shrimp special and plenty to eat with 1 basket. Tasty food, great service. Drinks were on table as soon as our group arrived.The things missing, otherwise 5 stars, 1. Billy Bob, and 2. Bar pizza as an appetizer choice.Bonus was the Diet Mountain Dew drink options, which is never an option in some other parts of the US when asked if you want a Coke and what kind of Coke.”

“The food here is good and I've gone multiple times but being mostly a bar there aren't a lot of good choices. I personally like the pork tacos and steak fajitas but the Spanish rice side is just fair. The chips and salsa are very good but don't order the guacamole it's not very good. I personally like sitting at the bar as the owner is the bartender and waiter and can be fun to talk to but if he's really busy he gets a little cranky. Good place.”

“Honestly do not make the mistake of judging this place by the outside appearance! It's an older building with some flaws but the owners are just amazing and the staff as well! Everyone is always so friendly and it's got a great atmosphere in general.”

“I've been stopping here as part of an annual trip for several years. The dining experience has always been enjoyable. Since the remodel and new ownership it has been exceptional. Most recently we were treated to specialty cocktails from the bar and appetizer recommendations. The main course was the best steak I can recall. The service from hostess to the bartender to the waitress was exceptional. This restaurant really is a hidden gem in the northwoods. I would highly recommend Bootleggers to everyone looking for a fine dining experience.”
