“We can’t recommend Sideways enough! Donna, Steve and their staff were exceptional in planning & hosting our son & his fiancés gathering of family & friends the night before their wedding. Donna & Steve were so accommodating with the use of the space. They offered the upstairs and their outdoor space to host the large group of family and friends. The atmosphere inside was charming & welcoming. The drinks and all of the food were amazing! Many family & friends commented on how awesome everything was. All of the staff were top notch -very professional and welcoming. It was perfect!”

“We were on vacation in northern Wisconsin and since we like enjoy dining at supper clubs we found Silver Birch. Everything was great, the friendly service, the drinks, the lake view and the delicious cheesy broccoli Alfredo soup, honey glazed carrots and steaks!”

Everyone was soooo helpful and worked very hard to make the day special and perfect...and it was!!!! From specialty drinks to making sure the buffet stayed stocked to having the most perfect wedding spot by the river and fabulous bar and pavillion area to setting up and cleaning up ... thank you all sooo much for the lasting memories!!!!”

“While we’ve been to Billy Bob’s many times (and loved their food — especially their burgers and FRIES are phenomenal!!) we were particularly blown away by one server’s exceptional service last night … her name is Cat 👏👏👏 Not only was she beyond accommodating, letting us change from an outside table to inside as it was cooling off, but we noted EACH TIME she checked on us — our food, etc. — it was HER thanking US. 😳 I was particularly proud — though not surprised — to find without my knowing prior, she is the daughter of a good friend of mine (Gregg), who owns a different local mainstay, Cockatiel’s Bar, also in Tomahawk. Be sure to check out both places, especially Harley Weekend, aka “Fall Ride,” and ask for them by name. GREAT customer service deserves to be shared!”

“Someone was complaining about the price for Cajun shrimp I don't think $ 16.00 for a shrimp dish is expensive actually pretty reasonable! Especially for how expensive all food is those days ?”

“Amazing food. Very fresh and authentic. I had the Stuffed Avocado and Chicken Tortilla Soup and my husband had the Street Tacos. All of it was amazing and very fresh. The server was very friendly and our food was served promptly. Definitely recommend”

“We enjoyed a wonderful dinner again tonight. There are few restaurants we return to during our stay Up North because there are so many great places here, but Besse’s is one of them. Our server was friendly, professional and knew the menu well. She welcomed us back, recognizing us from our previous visit 2 weeks ago. Two of us started with the sauerkraut, potato and ham soup which we ordered out of curiosity and really enjoyed. The other person in our party had the salad which was fresh, crisp and he liked the homemade vinaigrette. The pork chop was perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked, the Parmesan Crusted Cod was amazing and I had the Chicken Piccata again which was very nicely prepared. Last time we were here my daughter had the ribeye and said it was on her Top 3 list! She works at a high end steak house in Texas so she knows a great steak. During the day, the view from the bar is great and I imagine the patio seating is wonderful in nice weather. We are a group of foodies and have all been in the business. Don’t miss out on a great meal - give Besse’s a try!”

“We were in for chicken dinner last night. As always the food was great, but what also made the night better was our server Lydia. She took care of us very well the entire time, with a smile and conversation. Sometimes that's all it takes for a good experience is the staff. I'm glad Lydia was part of that experience for us. Tilted Loon staff have always been excellent and part of the reason we continue to go back time and time again. Thank you Lydia, you made our night.”

“I had the Buddhist delight vegetables on the lunch menu today.
The main dish was fresh and a very good quality. There was no fresh white rice coming with the meal only fried rice, which I don’t like because you can’t tell how old it is. The eggroll was good, especially after I soaked it in the soup.
The portions were medium small
The sweet-and-sour soup was not that good in my humble opinion, but it’s probably the norm for that type of soup The atmosphere was minimal, but clean. (although I think I recall a very subtle smell of mold entering the building)
Service was excellent and quick; wonderful people.
For a small town, mom and Pop restaurant I would give them a four instead of a five because of the atmosphere and the plastic dishes. Or maybe a three because this restaurant is putting out a large volume of plastic into the landfill. (Reminds me of Taiwan, where everyone eats in these plastic containers that can take hundreds, if not even thousands of years to break down in the soil And can leach chemicals into the food.) I didn’t eat the soup because I didn’t want to put a plastic spoon into a hot soup.
But comparing them to all restaurants (which is not really fair ) II would give them a three because of the atmosphere and the plastic containers.”

“Clean restaurant inside and out. Food delicious, hot fries. Tried the fish sandwich and would recommend it to anyone. We ate outside by the river. The seating area is set above a walking path. It was a lovely location. It was noisy due to the busy road nearby but didn't deter enjoying an outside meal on a warm, sunny day.”
