While Milwaukee is world renowned as a city of bars, bars, bars…and bars, the city’s bar culture is unmatched anywhere else. Every bar has its own personality and stories inside their walls. What I like about here is the old school, no-fuss feel but particularly their wonderful hot sandwiches. I started with their popular Italian Bomber with mushrooms. This little hole-in-the-wall bar is about as no-frills as it gets, and that's part of its charm. There's just one bartender who also handles all the cooking, so be patient—it keeps the place running. Every sandwich comes on garlic bread, which is a nice touch and sets them apart.
