“Enjoyed lunch on a Friday afternoon. Bar had great decor, good selection of music, great drink choices and delicious food. Only downfall was they didn't have peanut butter whiskey. My husband enjoyed the tap beer selection. Simple menu with traditional Irish food. Not busy at the time so good came out quickly piping hot. Great flavors, fries were cooked perfect and townie tots with some kind of garlic sauce drizzled on top will be ordered again, so good. Barbecue sauce had great flavor. Impressed all around.“
“I do have to say I enjoyed working at pollackin so very much. The customers are regulars that we would have daily and clientele we're just awesome. I remember lunches got quite busy most of the time was just bruising myself tired it was one of the most enjoyable jobs I had. The food is very good nowadays though some of the workers are pretty stuck up and snobby I think they don't realize one day they're going to get old too. And truthfully I can't believe that they're not open for lunch. It's a shame how this generation is no respect for the elderly no respect for anybody lazy now let pollackin was a great place and a great business too bad you messed it all up what a shame you shouldn't have don't know what hard work really is“
“They can be short staffed at times but I'm telling you the burgers are soo worth the wait, ok the fries as well. “They have REALLY good burgers! The people are very friendly. I suggest the Hill Burger, it is made from a proprietary fresh burger mixture (as are all their burgers). Charbroiled deliciousness! The fries are crispy & very good as well. With their new pool hall being built I say people should check it out for sure!“
“Tonight was our first time for dinner since this restaurant changed from Clubhouse to Prost Hill. We LOVED the food!The smoked wings were just as tasty & flavorful. Bravo! “They have the new tap beer service where you set the glass on it and it fills from the bottom up, like at sporting events. We got burgers, hand patties they were just so perfect and I'd recommend everyone to go try burgers ? also next I'm going to get one of their homemade pizzas ?. The atmosphere is great, just out of Wausau cornfields and peaceful people, it's a good relaxing place ?Features: Plenty of outdoor seating if you are concerned. They have a horse show area with seating. In a country setting..“
“I was staying in a hotel near Stewart Ave in Wausau and was traveling alone. I really didn’t want to go to a chain restaurant and wanted to go to a place where I could socialize with the locals. Man THIS WAS THE PLACE!! On top of it all I got the Ribeye which they hand-cut in house and I could order as many ounces as I wanted. I went for 18oz. ;). And ate every last bite. One of the best steaks I’ve had in a long time and I travel all over the world for work and eat at some really nice places…this honestly ranks as one of the top steaks I’ve had. And the clientele was really friendly too! Now I wish I lived in Wausau and not 900 miles away…because this would be my new place to go!!!“
“Came to this restaurant as was told about $.50 boneless wings on Sundays. Got garlic Parmesan and Chipotle sauces which were both good. I had the salmon wrap which was fantastic with beer battered fries and my husband had the Beast burger with crinkle fries. He said it was good just a little dry for his taste. We both also had a Bloody Mary with horseradish, mine was spicy and his was not. He thought my spicy one was too spicy but I enjoyed it that way! Definitely want to go back again! On top of the food being great, the waitress was great, it was my husbands birthday so she surprised us with 2 shots that were so good I asked her what they were, she said it was pineapple upside down cake. She even held a candle for my husband to blow out. then when we went up to bar to pay for our dinner, she gave an extra chip to get a free drink when we come back. Much appreciated great service!“
“Great dinner on a busy Friday night. Staff was helpful and accommodating. Wait was almost an hour at 6:30, which is expected when you're cranking out delicious fish. I had the pan fried walleye with their famous potato salad - yum! My husband had the fried walleye with chips - double yum! We also had our 3 kiddos with us who had a cheeseburger, chicken fingers, and a corn dog from the kiddie menu. Nice portions and prices - we will be back!“
