Muttley’s continues to be closed and has a for sale sign in the window.
Muttley's has been closed for at least a couple years. I'm not sure why google still has it listed, but you can't go there. When it was open, it was a go-to place for us.I do not personally know this to be true, but I have been told that it was due to illness and/or death. Muttley's was a unique gem where we made many memories.I gave it all 1s because they are closed. When they were open, it was all 5s.

Wanted to be go here while in town but found out from the locals they haven't been open in over a year! This still says they're open
By all means, if you're a masochist who enjoys lukewarm, tasteless food combined with off-color jokes cracked by the world's weirdest, skinniest chef, be sure to stop here. The experience was surreal and not in the interesting way. We felt like we had taken a wrong turn somewhere in WV and ended up in an alternate reality reminiscent of Deliverance. Or maybe just some offshoot level of Hell. The staff apparently had frequent training sessions in being incompetent and rude at the same time. The food barely qualified for the title. Literally no redeeming features whatsoever. Give this place a negative-one star and consider that generous.
These are caring business owners that make it happen every day. I appreciate their dedication to the community and their craft.
There are no words adequate to express our disappointment with Muttley's. It's been a while since we were there, but after seeing some of the other reviews I felt compelled to chime in. We were looking to sample the local fare a year or so back and this place looked inviting from the outside. Inside was a whole different story. The atmosphere was dingy with poor ventilation, the wait was overlong considering the number of empty tables, and the service was disinterested in eve

We were looking to sample the local fare a year or so back and this place looked inviting from the outside. Inside was a whole different story. The atmosphere was dingy with poor ventilation, the wait was overlong considering the number of empty tables, and the service was disinterested in even keeping up appearances of caring. The food, though, was truly horrendous. This place puts itself out there as a steakhouse, so of course we ordered the steak. I had a NY Strip and my husband got the ribeye. One was undercooked and the other was overcooked (how is that even possible?), and both had the basic flavor of congealed, burnt sawdust. The portions were tiny and the salad was literally wilted. The best part? The $70.00 price tag. Just drive right on by and go to McDonald's, it will be a better experience.
Awesome steak dinner, was there for private party. Go to deli next door for great sandwichs. they are opening back up slowly after pandemic. A must visit
Avoid at all costs. The food was half cooked and there were parasite eggs in the meat. I witnessed at least a dozen health code violations in one visit. The place needs to be shut down, cited, fined, and fumigated. Do yourself and your stomach a favor and go elsewhere--anywhere--except here.
Hasn't been open in over a year, despite what they say on Google Maps and their website.

This place is strange. I do not know how else to say it. I've eaten twice there in the past 6 months and both times my meal was excellent food, very tasty steak, overall good food. Strange? I called to see if they were open. Terse answer: YES. Do I need reservations? Some silence , then "Do you want one ?" Yes, dinner for 2 at 6PM please. "OK we'll see you at 6 O'clock." Clunk. I get there a little early. One table out of 6 visible tables was taken. After a short wait, we were seated. Two ladies came in after us wanting a meal. The waitress/receptionist asked if they had reservations. Answer: No. Reply: "Sorry." And the ladies left. AT NO POINT in the evening were more than 3 of the 6 visible tables occupied. I have no idea what makes them tick at this place. Almost an unhappy attitude under the surface ?
Excellent venue for good food and good friends! Steaks are always seasoned well and cooked to perfection . Crabcakes are awesome as well. Their friendly staff makes you feel right at home. Great meal!
Delicious food, excellent service. The pork with the mixed veggies was divine. Don't miss out on eating here!
Took my wife to Muttley's for her birthday dinner. We have lived in Canaan Valley for two years and have talked about going several times. Wish it had not have taken us so long to go. We loved the homey atmosphere and everyone that we came into contact with. My wife ordered Surf and Turf and I order a Delmonico Steak. The salad was just the right size and the bread was fresh. To our surprise Ron, the owner and Chef and two ladys that waited on our table brought out a free Apple Dumpling Desert with a lit candle on it. Please do yourself a favor and stop in to Muttley's the next time you are in town.
Prices are high - $30 for a steak, ouch! House salad looked like it had been sitting out for awhile - all wilted and sad looking. Petit fillets were over cooked but still tasty. The shrimp were a joke - out of a freezer bag and slightly grilled and small. Staff was average. The decor is ok. Not a place you would go to twice.
