Since 1932, Stewarts has been the first and arguably best drive-in restaurant in West Virginia. Driving through Huntington, we knew we wanted to get hot dogs, especially since the city is home to The West Virginia Hot Dog Festival. The festival is held every year on the last Saturday in July except in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We visited in December and the waitress came right out to the car. We got a Christmas tree while we waited on our food and it was all done and ready in 15 mins. She also recommended how to save money on getting the special.
I love this eatery and usually order chili & cheese hot dogs with a root beer/fries. They are a good value and on multiple visits when I order, they inform me of a way to order a promo or combo and save. The staff is always friendly and quick. I am not sure of all comments made by the owner, but I was under the impression that they were related to faith or beliefs and not hateful in nature. I would hope that is accurate. I enjoy this business based on the food they serve.
