Don't miss South Charleston's top Mexican restaurants, as recommended by Restaurantji.
“Very nice restaurant with some nice variations of the standard offerings. The area is a little lackluster but ignore that the food and service. My suggestion is the pineapple shrimp tacos. They are well prepared, topped and presented well. The option of getting sides that are a little uncommon in the local restaurants were nice as well. The black beans were well cooked and seasoned and the street corn was perfect.“
“This is the most cleanest Hardee's I have ever been in. I went the the bathroom it smelled so great snd was so clean! The food was so delicious. I have already bragged about thus Hardee's to everyone I come incounter with. Highly satisfied. Thank you for your service.“
“It was my first time going to a Qdoba. The interior was clean and streamlined. There was a line corral, but at the time I went (around 2), there was maybe one person ahead of me. I got the Adobo chicken bowl with rice and black beans. The toppings I chose were heavy on veggies, light on fat. I got Chile lime crema (I think) and otherwise no dairy. It was good, tasted healthy, and could have probably used more salsa, but that was on me. Never having been, I was a little panicky, not wanting to hold up the line like a dork! With an ice tea, it was about 15 bucks. It was a little pricey for fast food in the area, but the bowl would easily feed two. Overall, I'm glad I went.“
“Really great place. But always check to make sure you have all your food. I've had about five times now where I'll be missing some food. It's more my fault than anybody's because I didn't check but I really shouldn't have to.“
“ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!! ????? would rate 1000 ⭐️ stars if I could. This was the best Mexican food I have EVER had. Our Server and the staff was amazing as well and really affordable! Plate was finished ✔️ would 1000% recommend to friends and family ?“
“The food has an absolutely amazing taste, and the service is great. The waiters were attentive and made sure we didn't run out of drinks or chips and salsa. The bathrooms were very dirty. The restaurant atmosphere Is pretty decent, it could be a little brighter though.Parking: There are several parking spots!“
“Exceptional modern take on Mexican. You can find traditional Mexican special ties. The star attraction however are a wide range of street tacos. You can do 3 for $14. My favorites include Birria, barbacoa, shrimp, fish and tongs chicken. Atmosphere is sports bar, but not too much noise to distract.“
“I thought this place would be smaller but it’s actually pretty comfortable on the inside. The bar runs the length of the dining area with plenty of space between it and the tables. Since it was my first time here I let them order for me and I got the street tacos and it was delicious. The service was great and they were really kind to me. I am excited to go back and have more. They even brought me my own big bowl of chips. Which was nice as I was by myself and starving. I couldn’t have had a better first experience at a place. Nice to have a Mexican restaurant downtown and within walking distance in all of Charleston. The atmosphere is dark and the decor is really aesthetically pleasing. It really works for setting the mood. Good place to watch the games I imagine though none were on while I was in. I will be back with guest.Parking: Parking is limited but you shouldn’t have to park more than a block away at a meter or at the parking garage located on Summers Street. I believe it is free.Wheelchair accessibility: You can get inside the restaurant from the sidewalk and sit at the end cap of the table quite comfortably.“
“This place is on point! The salsa is legit, lots of fresh cilantro flavor. The El Patron burrito is massive and delicious. Service was super fast and friendly, They keep the place clean and clearly care about being an awesome restaurant! I will definitely be back very soon.“
“This is by far our favorite Mexican restaurant! They have had off for a family vacation for the past week and we were counting down the days to visit again and get our fix! Service is always fast and friendly. Tonight we had a big party ahead of us and still didn't even wait long for a table... They were packed!Tonight I went for something different and had the fajitas with chicken and steak. That's something easy to do low carb and not eat the flour tortillas that come with it. My husband has the Arroz con Pollo and my daughter had a side of grilled chicken with cheese dip and rice from my plate. Everything tasted great but I'm going for my usual next time... I missed my grilled chicken and cheese! Lol“
