I understand having new staff but all new staff with no one with experience/owner jumping into help until diners are in a rush to leave is just irresponsible. After waiting more than 15 minutes to check out, get a box, get checked on (other tables complaining too) I finally received an incorrect bill. To add insult to injury, the food was not good. Instant mashed potatoes (yes, I asked), grisly baked steak that was not a bit tender and cold Mac and cheese were not worthy of the wait much less the bill. The Coke was not mixed correctly (bluck)…luckily the rolls were good. The entire dinner was a huge disappointment.

The food is exceptional, fresh and well presented. The food is upscale, but the prices are very reasonable. The house is an old historical home with beautiful and interesting interior.

Booked online and reservation was ready when we arrived. We were seated in the large room overlooking the Coal River. The view was pretty and the light really was reflecting off the river which made for a delightful setting. Wine list was lacking. There was a bar that seemed to make whatever cocktail you were in the mood for. We both ordered the stuffed chicken. The food was good. Chicken was a little dry, but not bad. The spinach stuffing inside the chicken made up for the dryness. The sides were good. We were in envy of the seafood platters delivered next to us. We did have dessert as well, the hot fudge brownie. It was more than large enough to share and was the perfect ending to our meal. Overall experience was positive. We will return. The people around us were heard to be complimenting their food as well.

Thought we'd give it a try. Restaurant is in an old house overlooking a small river. Was seated with a river view, but it's not the most beautiful river I've ever seen. Had steak which had absolutely no seasoning and was mostly over done. The crab dip appetizer was good and salad was good except for the bleu cheese dressing which tasted nothing like bleu cheese. As others have stated it was way over priced for the quality of the food. Probably won't go back. Sorry guys and gals!

Such a nice extension of The Cafe if you prefer to have a more quiet dinner. Same great food that they serve upstairs.
