Kalu is great! (Local!) family owned and operated. Their tacos Al Pastor are the best in town, actually made on a trompo, the vertical rotisserie. I like that they have some other dishes from Latin American countries too, that’s unique. However when I eat here I go for Mexican. Staff are friendly and obviously want to get things right. Kalu also has fun events like Latin dance nights and other parties. Great place to hold your private event as they are very accommodating to your vision and needs. Also Tuesdays they have a great deal on Tacos, $3.50 each or something like that!

This is the first time I have ever left a negative review. We typically go to merry piglets. They were closed today so we came here and I have never been so disappointed even my kids were disappointed. The chips were stale and hard to chew like they’ve been under the heat lamp all day cheese dip nothing special my daughter would not eat the bean and cheese burrito ( I should have taken pictures ) and the Pozole was cold and full of bones. We don’t go out to eat often so it was definitely dissapointing. Brought fries when asked for rice and got the burrito wrong a few times just overall was a frustrating experience.

We love Kalu! The dishes are fresh, delicious, and creative. Fresh chips and salsa are fantastic. They offer many options from different cuisines of Latin America. We were looking for something a bit different from the traditional pizza, bison, steaks, and burgers that abound in the Jackson food scene. They serve great margaritas at a reasonable price. The service was attentive and friendly. Kalu did not disappoint.

We came here and had the chicken pozole! It was so delish! We loved the ambiance which was decorated for the holidays and the service was great! The young man keptChecking on us and made us feel so welcome! The chips and salsa were great too! So happy when I try a new place and I leave happy because it's so good!

Was super dissatisfied with the food. I love menudo, and confirmed on the menu that it included hominy. When it came out with bones and no hominy, I asked if they could bring me some and they brought me chickpeas from another dish instead, which ruined the flavor of the menudo. We had ok food the first time we went, but as the saying goes, “fool me once shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me”. Will not return.
