“The service here was outstanding. It isn’t a huge space but it’s comfy and inviting inside. The food was very good. Their menu is not overwhelming which helps with decision fatigue. We got shareable plates between four people. We ordered the mac and cheese, the bratwurst / lemon herb chicken sausage, fries and mashed potatoes. Portions are decent and definitely shareable. I also recommend their pineapple beer if it’s still available mmmm. Will be back.”

“Such a wonderful experience dining at Sempre Uno for the first time!The atmosphere was perfect. Some people were dressed casually, others a little fancier but no pressure either way. The staff greeted us right away and seated us at our table. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. I believe their outdoors is heated for the cooler days.Overall great layout.There’s an open kitchen and bar which is nice as well, feels very welcoming.Onto the service and food! The menu read very well, and it was hard picking. Our waiter recommended a few options, plus went through some daily specials which all sounded AMAZING.We ended up starting with the carpaccio, oysters (that were on special) and a classic ceasar salad.Everything was delicious. Our daughter had a smaller order of their Ragu bolognese and it was possibly the best bolognese we’ve ever had. (Highly recommend a full order!)For mains we had the Lobster Tagliarini , mussels/clams in a Yuzu curry base (was one of the appetizer specials) and Scallop and Prawn risotto. Every dish blew it out of the park. They were SO delicious. It’s hard to find a place where every single dish is a hit. This was it.For dessert we shared the lemon cheesecake and the Budino. Hard to pick which one was better but if we had to, the Budino!The service was also amazing. Our waiter was very attentive and friendly.The whole vibe of the place and staff were superb.We will definitely be back!!? ? ? ? ?5/5 experience (possibly even 6).Parking: Lower Lonsdale can be tough during peak hours but there is always the paid parking lots nearby if you can’t find free street parking. “The staff is so disrespectful! We arrived at this place around 12:35pm and the hostess said they would have a 35 min wait list. We said ok, got our names in the wait list and left. After 35 min I came back for a time check and the hostess said more 30 min wait. We have a toddler and 1 hour wait would be too much for the toddler. I asked to talk to the manager but the hostess said there was no manager on duty that day. I insisted since that wouldn't make any sense. After begging to talk to the person in charge, finally someone showed up. The manager was even more disrespectful than the hostess - she kept this ironic smile all the time and said that the hostess removed our names from the list by mistake but nothing could be done, not even offer us the top of the wait list and we had to go to the bottom of the list again. She also said they were doing the best they could - I left without saying a word since keep discussing was just pointless - when I walk out the door I just heard "and please don't come back". Just don't come here.”

“It was our first visit to this restaurant but not the last. We found this place by chance. We were starving and did not have a lot of time as we had to catch ferry. the staff person was very polite and understanding about it and our dinner was served super quick. Everything that we had ordered was delicious. My husband and I did not expect it to be this good. the staff person was very respectful. I ate good authentic Indian food after a long time. If you happen to be in North Vancouver and craving for Indian food, this is a place to go to. Nice family run restaurant. We will surely be there next time I am in North Van.”

“We were lucky to get the last 2 seats at the bar on very busy Saturday night. We started with the oysters which were a fantastic BC variety. In Ontario we almost exclusively see PEI oysters (which are great) but it was a nice briny change of pace for me. The grilled octopus starter was also superb. Sliced wafer thin and crispy it was hit in both flavour and texture.For mains I had the special, Halibut in beur-blanc and my wife had the seared scallops with squash ravioli. I'm not sure who won that round.. both were terrific.We rarely order dessert but I'm sucker for poached pears. They did not disappoint, it was really superb, served with house made coconut ice cream. The berry payola was also excellent but the poached pear outshone it.Service was very efficient but friendly and personal and we had a nice chat with the bar staff as they shucked shellfish and some regulars who were also dining at the bar.We found Fishworks by Google search. We happened to be staying at a hotel a block away. It had one of the highest ratings and best reviews of the restaurant in walking distance. Glad we found Fishworks, we will recommend it to others and we'll be back again.Thanks for a memorable meal.”

“We enjoyed dinner on a Saturday night during the hockey playoffs, so the volume in at the Gull was lively. Service was very friendly but quite slow when we first arrived. seemed like there was some confusion on who's table we were, once we had a server all flowed nicely. Enjoyed a burger and rib meal which the kitchen prepared gluten free. We love the Gull and will be back!”

He tried the Miso Glazed Eggplant Veggie Sandwich and gave his seal of approval to that as well.I don't know what it is about Breakfast sandwiches that's got our daughter hooked on them so much but I am definitely not complaining about it as she's learning to widen her taste palate and eat foods she's never really eaten much before, thanks to her new love of Vegan breakfast sandwiches. This one at Workshop Vegetarian was no exception to the rule. She loved this one, and the greens were not a detterent!Grilled Cheese Sandwich is a simple dish that I could make at home so I don't usually order it, but a vegan version of it is a real treat as we don't often have Vegan cheese at home. I absolutely loved this Vegan Grilled Cheese Sandwich. The cheese was just as ooey and gooey as a regular Grilled Cheese Sandwich and it tasted so good with the Marinara sauce!They also have a fridge and freezer section where you can buy ready made food to go, or plant based foods to cook at home. “I found a very delicious Italian restaurant in North Vancouver on late Saturday night. I went there for the first time and ordered a safe dish meatball spaghetti, a slice of focaccia and white wine. The portion of the spaghetti was just right, and the focaccia was better than expected, so I ordered another piece of focaccia. What surprised me was that there was a gentleman performing live on Saturday, or weekend perhaps. The waiters interacted with every guest politely and confidence. Table, seats and washroom were very clean. I will try other dishes next time with family & friends next time.”

“The food is delicious but the new staff need a bit of work to come up to scratch.We've had lunch and dinner several times here since this location opened off Lonsdale, replacing the one further up the road. The sushi is always terrific, a nice blend of classic and inspired creations with fresh ingredients. We noted some unusual items not usually on a traditional sushi menu but variety is the spice of life, so why no?The atmosphere is bright and new with lots of windows and an outside patio with heat lamps (once the weather dries and warms up) but the tall divider made it a bit hard to see the door from our seats. We mentioned we were expecting friends to join us and we had stand up each time someone new walked in order to see over the divider. Minor annoyance; we'll ask for seating on the other side next time.We understand good staff are hard to keep but new staff need a bit more awareness training. The table we were lead to wasn't cleaned before we were seated and we weren't offered tea. (Tea came in ordinary mugs; I miss the nice china teacups.) After the food arrived, we had to ask for small plates and the extra wasabi we requested when we ordered.During the meal, we had difficulty getting the waitress's attention (for more tea) and to clear the empty plates. She didn't inquire if we wanted anything else before she brought the bill. We might have... Small tweaks make the difference between mediocre and very good service and a larger tip.Overall, a nice spot for sushi conveniently located in North Vancouver, worth the short walk east from Lonsdale Ave, at 15th Street, across from Lions Gate Hospital. Limited street parking during the day but usually available within a block or so after 6 pm.”

“Shishlik offers an incredible culinary experience with its delicious Persian cuisine. I highly recommend trying the kebab and hot bread; they are simply amazing. Overall, I'd rate my experience at Shishlik as 4 stars. The food deserves a solid 5 stars for its exceptional taste and quality. The kebab and hot bread are must-tries! However, the service could be improved. The staff was not very friendly and seemed a bit ignorant at times, earning 3 stars. Despite this, the food alone makes Shishlik worth a visit.”

It's been pretty quiet the few times that I've been in and sometimes that means servers are busy catching up on other tasks. Here's why.....A "Vaziri" dish is a skewer of beef and a skewer of chicken which comes with rice and grilled tomato.....ok here it goes....In any Persian restaurant in the vicinity of Vancouver the lowest price for this dish is $28.00 going all the way to $34.00. The adorable fact about Farsi Food is they offer that dish for $23.99...and here's the real kick....The quality is just as good! So, let's do some basic math here.....at this place you pay less for the same level of quality. They're just not...all high up on my horse about it. If I wanted to pay nearly 35 bucks for a meal, I'd go to a steakhouse and order a filet mignon......get my drift?Loved the Vaziri.The chicken had a beautiful lemon-marinated aftertaste and tender on the inside. The Beef was also pre-marinated and grilled just right. The rice was actually impressive. Persian rice is cooked a certain way. The grains were fully extended and al-dente, which only means they were cooked right and steamed right....oh and it was seasoned. You'd be surprised how many Persian restaurants serve their rice unsalted, which is surprising considering that Persians salt everything generously. The tomato was fresh and had a super tasty bbq'd taste grilled to perfection finishing with a sweet bow.I also loved how the side onion for our to-go order was cut fresh. I mean super fresh. Yes, little bites of raw onion with Persian dishes is very tasty....it just goes....you should try it.Friendly Service.Clean Space.Fair Prices.Why would I go anywhere else? I won’t.”

“Wife and I enjoyed a very nice lunch at Genji today. We started with tempura soba, kind of 2 dishes in one. An assortment of lightly battered tempura on one plate and cold buckwheat soba noodles with ice cold dipping sauce on another. Very good.The salmon kama was another highlight, being a very flavourful, generous portion with very few bones.The star of this meal, however, was the boneless fried chicken, which appears to be new on the menu. We had the sweet and spicy version. I thought it might be more sweet than spicy but boy I was wrong. The sauce actually packed a bit of a kick. The chicken itself was nice and moist with a crunchy coating. Definitely a dish to re-order next visit.Finished with a refreshing bowl of mango ice cream scattered with chunks of preserved mango.The restaurant is quite bright and newly redone. We were seated in a "modified" or "westernized" tatami room. It was an enclosed room but the table and benches were regular height rather than the typical low profile in traditional rooms.Service was prompt, courteous and efficient.Dietary restrictions: Server asked twice about whether there was anyone with food allergies.”

Their main thing is chicken flame grilled which is delicious you can try different flavours it has an awesome flame grilled taste ….prices are reasonable and the food here is delicious my office is just off lonsdale we come to this location twice a week. We recently got a coupon which was sent to neighborhood’s in the area and had amazing deals. Clean restaurant and the employees are very friendly. Would recommend everyone to come try this place.”

They move the restaurant to Marine Drive when construction hit the area. Service is excellent. Food is excellent. We are blessed to have such amazing food without having to cross the bridge.”
