Lei'd Cookies 8588 Washington Blvd, Culver City Bakery • $

“I’m a super cheap so hate paying high prices and at $5/cookie, it’s a bit high. BUUUTTTT ITS WORTH It!- small and nicely decorated storefront. There’s meter parking in the front.- as you walk by, and then in, you can smell alll the goodness in the air- we got the brown butter chocolate chip, Mayan and mango sticky rice. We got the jumbo cinnamon roll, only available on Saturdays, which was good, but not mind-blowing. The cookies on the other hand, have lots of depth of flavor and hints of everything they say is in the cookie.Usually there’s one dominant flavor but everything is well balanced. Also, whenever there’s a fruit flavor, a lot of time at other place, it tastes like artificial flavoring but everything tastes real here. I could taste the mango bits in here, and I’ve previously had the strawberry passion fruit and ube matcha through friends, and all real flavors there too.Would recommend! Wish they had a stamp card or loyalty program though, cuz I’d rack that ish uppppppp!”

We started with the foccasia bread which was delicious and also had the rigatoni which was one of the best pastas I’ve have in a long time. The negative side was the uncomfortable chairs at the tables. They were hard and felt unsteady. Overall experience made up for less than comfortable seating.Kid-friendliness: They have a simple kids menu with the usual. “This was an adorable place for pastries and lunch. There is free parking in the structure nearby, and paid street parking around. My partner and I split the Chilaquiles, which was phenomenal with fresh and crisp chips. The pastry we ordered was an apple danish of some sort, and that was delightful as well. You order in the front before self seating, and enjoying a laid-back time with yourself or your friends. The staff were super friendly. The prices were quite high, but understandable for the location and quality of food.”

“I recently went on a date here and would absolutely visit again. The service at this place was amazing. I can honestly say it was one of the best experiences I've had at a place (not just sushi). They were so friendly, helpful, and organized. It can be awkward on a first date and the servers can sometimes make that worse and this was NOT the case here. The staff were very down to earth especially when we had questions about the menu. The set up of tables were also placed perfectly. We weren't too close to the other tables which can make things weird. Perfect spot for a date, especially a first date. The food was incredible and offered hand cut + roll options. We ordered a few rolls and the price for what we ordered was incredible. Completely affordable while giving off a fancy/trendy vibe.”

HomeState 10000 Washington Blvd Unit 104, Culver City Tacos • $

“I attend a family gathering, they served food from HomeState that was so delicious, I just had to write about it. A pre-order for 2 dozen tacos, tortilla chips and toppings was served. The tortillas were handmade and filled with a variety of protein, cheese and beans. Each was individually wrapped in foil and clearly labeled for your convenience. The food has a "Texas" flair to it, featuring brisket, pinto or black beans, diced potatoes, pickled red onions, Pico de Gallo, and vegetarian options too. I chose the "Don't Mess with Texas" soft taco. It was filed with Charro beans, bacon, potatoes and cheddar cheese. You can also buy a dozen flour tortillas as a side and save them for the next day! So worth the price ($8 a dozen). They are open 7 days a week, for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Try them and you will want to go back for more. Don't forget to tell 'em that Rosemary sent ya!”

Maple Block Meat Co. 3973 Sepulveda Blvd, Culver City Barbecue • $$

“Overall a nice experience. Staff were friendly. Food was delicious! My bf likes potato salad and he said it was good (I don’t like potato salad so to me it wasn’t). The Mac n Cheese was good nothing amazing, I would try something else next time. The broccolini was yummy could have used some garlic and salt but the lemon was a great add. The loaded brisket fries were absolutely mouth watering delicious! 10/10 must! Great flavors, crunchy but soft airy fries, cheese sauce was creamy and flavorful and the pico de gallo was perfectly flavored that complemented the richness of the creamy cheese sauce. The brisket was soooo yummy wish there was more on it, tender and juicy. Now we both got the Brisket old school chopped sandwich! We died it was so good! And came with pickles on the side, I normally hate pickles, but not yesterday! I add all of it to my sandwich and took some from my bf too. The sauce on the brisket sandwich was super yummy not too sweet and not too overly sauced. The bun was decent kept its integrity for the most part, let’s face it the meat was the star here!! They ran out of their Thursday special but thankfully the rest of the menu was still available lol. I’m unable to drink right now however my bf did try some of their drinks, a tall boy “Bunny with a chainsaw” caned it was decent a bit flat. Then he tried “Big Noise” which was a better choice! Overall our total for two came up to $118 not including tip.Vegetarian options: Mac n Cheese, Potato salad, veggies. It’s a meat restaurant though so yeah your choice.Kid-friendliness: Restaurant if your child likes upscale food this is fine.Wheelchair accessibility: One floor plenty of tables with option to remove chairs for a wheelchair.”

“I love Simonette. The patio is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy a cocktail and breakfast, lunch, or brunch. I’ve been there twice now and I can highly recommend the burger on the menu - the fried egg on top completes it! And the mussels in the light cream sauce are wonderful - especially with fries. A friend of mine ordered the fried Bronzino - the complete fish including the head - and she said it was delicious. There are great cocktails available and several wines and Prosecco available by the glass. The onsite valet parking is a bit steep, but there are many nearby options for parking in downtown Culver City if you don’t mind walking a few blocks.”

“After reading a variety of reviews, but my friend having been a few times, we knew that some people were just testy. We did stay away from the chicken potstickers, and instead went with the cheeseburger ones. They were huge, and you get 3, and were very filling. We asked our awesome server Michelle, what she suggested before that. Before that, we first did the garlic "broccolini (or some veggie close to that), and it was amazing. did the Wonton/noodle soup, which was awesome. She and the other two staff (one was the husband of Ms. Chi, and he and the other gentleman were efficient and friendly). The soup was perfect on an overcast day. We lastly had one of their cinnamon sugar donuts. Overall, they were so friendly, food was great, and was a lovely experience.”

“Ordered the Bambino with turkey substitute. Flavors are robust and plentiful. Baguette was the perfect amount of firmness and freshness. As you know sometimes it's all in the bread but the sandwich packs a punch with flavors. Although on the pricey side - ingredients taste and are fresh so you pay for what you get. I was a little surprised by the narrowness of the baguette - can be cumbersome to readjust the ingredients from falling out as you eat your sandwich - just an observation and not a deal killer.”

“This is the best pizza in Los Angeles. The 30 hour fermented dough makes the crust perfect. The selection of toppings is great. The names of the pizzas provide inspiration for an excellent playlist to listen to on your drive to pick them up. Plus Chef Brandon is just so cool. Park in front of Bar & Garden, go in and grab a bottle of wine, pick up your pizza you already ordered on the easy to use website, and eat the best pizza you’ve had. Don’t forget to try the sauce, ranch, and any side dish he has going on that day too.”

I would have taken pictures, but the food was gone before I could post anything. The tacos were deliciously crispy, while the meat was marinated to perfection. The garnishes on the side, cucumbers, and radishes, were the perfect addition to my meal. Ordered three of these bad boys with a side of Mexican Coke. Pure cane sugar is so much better than High fructose corn syrup. My wife had the burrito. It was juicy, had all the right seasoning, and fell apart like any delicious burrito should.. Also, I said delicious a ton of times. Because it is! It's delicious!!!”

“I finally came here on Wednesday this week and I am hooked. Been back 3 times this week already. The cumin soup first and second time having was smooth and clear enough to enjoy the entire thing. However I will say the people working Saturday afternoon shifts made the soup this time around way too oily, couldn’t even enjoy the soup. I think the staff should know the standard in quality and have a consistency throughout -otherwise it’ll be hit or miss just with the consistency of the soup. Or maybe be specific in terms of telling them less spice oilThe noodles are however cooked and pulled to perfection.”

Harold's Chicken 6000 Sepulveda Blvd Suite 1305, Culver City Chicken • $

“I’ve been following some of the reviews of this establishment and thought I’d check it out for myself. I ordered the 4 wings lunch which consisted of fries and potato salad. I also ordered a side of mac and cheese.First off I tried the potato salad which was really good . However, I will mention that the potato salad came in the same small container as the order of hot sauce and probably was no more than a tablespoon sample. If you want the potato salad then I would recommend getting a side order of it. I was a little disappointed though that I paid $21 for my order and the potato salad came in this small container. The mac n cheese was a little lacking in seasoning but cheesy nevertheless which I like. Overall it was good. The cheesy won over the lack on seasoning. The wings looked really good. They were freshly made and crispy, juicy and hot which I like. However the wings were a little bit too salty for my taste. I even noticed the excess salt sprinkled on my chicken wings. The fries complimented the wings but the saltiness took away from the flavor in my opinion. However, the hot sauce definitely made the wings more flavorful for me. Overall they were good but I would recommend easing off the salt a little bit to allow for the flavor of the chicken to shine!Would I go back, yes but I will be more critical if my chicken is just as salty as it was on during my first visit.”
