“Delicious ramen spot with really good deals! Been seeing this spot on Yelp for a minute and finally was able to come here a few times now. Service and staff here are really nice and the food comes out pretty quick. I like this spot for ramen because they have good combo deal with a Tonkotsu ramen + side + 1 drink for around $17.50 to $18ish. Totally worth it! The restaurant is cool and the decor is awesome. Definitely come through and try this ramen spot out if you're near El Monte. I don't think you'll be disappointed! Thanks Tonkotsu House Ramen!“

“Very small Ramen restaurant. The Daikokuya Ramen with fried rice is delicious. Edemame was lightly salted and really. I noticed a lot of to go orders, so it is a local favorite.“

“this is so good, really enjoyed the soupless noodles after mixing everything in, the spicy original had the right kick and perfect balance between all the flavors and noodles, they also give you a mini scoop of rice to soak the remaining goodness, nice staff as well fyi this place gets busy and there’s usually a waiting list“

“Awesome place to get some great tasting ramen! The restaurant was nicely decorated, the staff extremely friendly and of course, the food tasted great. We had the veggie king ramen with an egg add on and spice level 3. Very good. I would definitely add a higher spice next time I go. They have a cool custom menu that you fill out while waiting in line to stream line the process. Big fan of the organization! Highly recommend.“

“Finally got to try this spot in old town Pasadena after walking by so many times and seeing so many people! We came on a Thursday night and were sat down immediately. Service was very attentive and fast! I got the Koku Tonkotsu with an egg which was pretty good! The chashu was a little too fatty for me, but the broth was umami packed and the noodles were the perfect firmness for me. We also got additional noodles which were a little too firm, but not too bad! Overall, I do think it's a little pricey for how much they give and with additional toppings, the prices definitely add up! Nevertheless, the ramen was yummy and authentic!“

“We love this place :) The older gentleman who works there is always very friendly and helpful. It feels like a mom and pop restaurant, very cosy. I usually get udon and the popcorn roll and my partner gets the bento box. We've tried most of the dishes and enjoy them all. We keep coming back not only for the food but the warm welcome from the adorable older man who works there, he reminds us of our grandpa :)“

“It's a tiny shop, usually crowded but the ramen is unique because you have the choice between chashu or popcorn chicken (generous portion!) with any ramen, and the broths are hearty and flavorful. As it's a tiny shop, the service is quite slow... one table is served at a time... so if you look around and see 3 empty tables then you know you have quite a wait ahead of you.“

“Oh man it's been a while since I was excited for Japanese food. This place definitely hit the spot on a rainy day. The rubber ducky decor elevated the experience to an 11/10. We ordered the chicken karage, katsudon don, and soba noodles with tempura on the side. Lemme tell you, we were STUFFED. They were hecking busy when we went and everyone's food looked so amazing. Had an immediate food coma after this. Will 100% be coming back.Parking: Corner plaza free parking lot. Free street parking is available.“

“Their Tan Tan Men Ramen are the best! I love how I have the opportunity to customize our ground meat choices (I.e. ground pork or ground chicken). Topped with nori, baby bok choy, bean sprouts, hard-boiled egg, and ground meat, the ramen have the perfect flavor. Their chicken karaage were the best too!“

“Solid ramen spot in South Pasadena, great, attentive, chill service on a stormof a Sunday, served food nearly after I placed my order, reasonable prices for portions given, generous on your chashu pork & kimchi for kimchi ramen, appreciate they saved me from overeating & just took the small portion of food I wasn’t able to finish. Broth & noodles were warm with good texture on the noodles. Didn’t even ask for a tip, pleasant surprise beyond the meal before I took off. Ambiance is definitely relaxed and they maintain a clean restroom if you need to use it of course. -would give business again“

“Been to the one in sawtelle before but it was my first time at this location -- the food was great as always. Loved the spicy tonkotsu ramen I had. The sides were available as an add on at $2.50 each. There wasn't too much of a wait as groups come and go fairly quickly. The service was friendly and the Japanese music gave the place a nice vibe.“

“I cannot emphasize enough how exceptional the service was for me. The waiter had very helpful answers to my questions (about portion size) on what I should order.I ordered the half green onion, half garlic bossam for $42. I love the garlic sauce here—it's a sweet minced garlic paste that masks any gaminess in the pork. The green onion sauce was more of just a gochujang sauce that had shredded green onion on top. Not my favorite but that's just my personal preference.I didn't think I was waiting particularly long for my food at all. Maybe just 5-10 minutes into placing my order, the waiter came by to let me know my dish would be coming out kind of slow because they were making a fresh batch of the pork. They offered some refreshments on the house and refilled my banchan without me needing to ask. AND THEN they came around like another 5-10 minutes later to offer a plate of freshly fried gyoza for the "inconvenience." I really didn't think the wait was unreasonably long at all, but their dedication to good service brings me to tears. ? ?Parking: The plaza has a large parking lot, but it fills up quickly when busy. The road is also a little narrow, so be cautious and watch out for other cars and pedastrians (as you should anyway).“

“Pretty good and different options for noodles and noodle soup. Plaza it's in is also nice and has parking. However, the combos are sorta expensive and no longer allow you to choose the appetizer. And the biang biang noodles themselves don't come with meat. But still tasty“

“Sad this place is temporarily closed. Hope they open back up. Food was great and had the garlic ramen. Get it if you don't plan on seeing anyone or a vampire is coming after you. Each noodle pull was loaded with bits of garlic. Service was fast and food came out without having to wait long.“

“Still great since they moved next to 99 Ranch. Same big slices of sashimi in the classic bento. Same fresh shredded daikon (love it- I eat every shred). Same little side dishes (ocean salad. Salad, ginger, and a little Hi- chew candy). Keep it up guys!“

“We came here for dinner and I got the tonkotsu ramen and the sesame chicken. We also each had one hot sake. Ramen was solid and the sesame chicken was ok. Servers were nice enough and the place looked interesting. We ate this place once many years ago and I feel like it looks very different now. Would come back.“
