“Finally got to try this spot in old town Pasadena after walking by so many times and seeing so many people! We came on a Thursday night and were sat down immediately. Service was very attentive and fast! I got the Koku Tonkotsu with an egg which was pretty good! The chashu was a little too fatty for me, but the broth was umami packed and the noodles were the perfect firmness for me. We also got additional noodles which were a little too firm, but not too bad! Overall, I do think it's a little pricey for how much they give and with additional toppings, the prices definitely add up! Nevertheless, the ramen was yummy and authentic!“

“We came here on a Tuesday night looking for a quick but savory meal. It was busy but there were some seats open. casual place. The food came out quite quickly, and as a whole it was very good. We got chicken kaarage, which was a good portion for its price. The accompanying spicy mayo was unexpectedly quite nice. boy got the blaze, which he really liked. I got the classic ramen, which was flavorful and not too salty. The noodles were cooked very well, and the broth warmed me nicely. I have came here before craving the tsukemen, and it is for the most part quite good but always ends up tasting very salty by the end. will probably still come back and order it again though.“

“4/5 stars (Vegetarian here for a plant-based/vegan review):We visited Suehiro Mini in Chinatown after the Chinatown Neighborhood Night Market hosted by CCEDLA in October, but I'm posting this review after learning that Suehiro's Little Tokyo location is facing eviction. Suehiro is a small family run restaurant chain with two generations of history, and the location in Chinatown has a smaller menu and storefront than its other locations.We were seated around 10:30 pm and the store wasn't too busy but it took us around 20 minutes to get our orders in and another 20 for the food to come out. Service is on the slower side so if you're on a time crunch definitely factor that in! There are four vegan options: vegan tomato ramen, vegan mapo don, vegan vegetable udon, and vegan yakisoba. I ordered the vegan tomato ramen. The broth was super thick and flavorful, and topped with fried and battered zucchini, tomato, and eggplants. While the portion sizes are quite large, the broth had a bit of a one note flavor and wasn't able to continue eating after I got through half. They have to-go containers so I was able to bring home the rest and it served as another meal. My friends ordered a Haiyashi Rice and Curry Rice and both really enjoyed their meal too. Their portions seemed even bigger, so if you have a small appetite I recommend sharing! Though service wasn't the quickest, we still enjoyed our meal, and I would love to return to try the other vegan options. If you're in the Chinatown area, try this ramen spot (as well as other small legacy businesses who are being pushed out by wealthier corporations that are actively working on gentrifying Chinatown).“

“It's a tiny shop, usually crowded but the ramen is unique because you have the choice between chashu or popcorn chicken (generous portion!) with any ramen, and the broths are hearty and flavorful. As it's a tiny shop, the service is quite slow... one table is served at a time... so if you look around and see 3 empty tables then you know you have quite a wait ahead of you.“

“We love this place :) The older gentleman who works there is always very friendly and helpful. It feels like a mom and pop restaurant, very cosy. I usually get udon and the popcorn roll and my partner gets the bento box. We've tried most of the dishes and enjoy them all. “Oh man it's been a while since I was excited for Japanese food. This place definitely hit the spot on a rainy day. The rubber ducky decor elevated the experience to an 11/10. We ordered the chicken karage, katsudon don, and soba noodles with tempura on the side. Lemme tell you, we were STUFFED. They were hecking busy when we went and everyone's food looked so amazing. “This place is a gem. You can tell the owner cares about the food, if you come here and it's a long wait, that's the reason. Fortunately for me my food was prepared quickly and it was SOOOOOO GOOD! had the tofu ramen, my partner didn't love the broth, but my kid and I did. Regarless, the tofu was crispy and all the flavors worked. We also had the black serpent roll. HOLY MOTHER OF GOD Fantastic flavor. I ordered the bulgogi bowl. And wow wow wow. So freaking good. “Was visiting LA for a few days and was a little disappointed with some of the more popular ramen places I've tried in Little Tokyo. This is definitely one of the best ramen places (if not the best) that I've tried in Little Tokyo. Had the signature Tokushima Ramen and absolutely loved it! The broth is on the lighter side so it's not too overpowering like some of the others. The noodles texture is just right and compliments really well with the broth. Chashu and meat slices are well marinated and tender. I was the only customer during that time and had a really nice chat with the friendly Japanese staff/owner. Overall, a highly recommended place!“

“I may be mistaken, but surely Hana Ichimonme is the very last remaining name in the beloved Yohan Plaza that currently we know of as Little Tokyo Market Place. Gone is the original bowling alley, the Northface Flagship Store, and many other Japanese eateries however, I am very happy to see this traditional Japanese restaurant still serving many favorites.Their menu continues to deliver your classic Japanese affair with Ramen, Soba, Chanpon, Katsu, Curry, and many other staples. This is comfort food in a sense for many patrons and fans. The quality is good. It isn't the upscale or overly priced gourmet, and this is what makes the approachable nature of having an institution. The service is excellent.The handover of ownership vacated the charm. The pricing is about $5 more than the perceived value. Maybe this is the pricing required to maintain. Parking is validated for 90 minutes, and this shopping center continues to offer many other things to warrant an entertaining and worthy stop.“

“Solid ramen spot in South Pasadena, great, attentive, chill service on a stormof a Sunday, served food nearly after I placed my order, reasonable prices for portions given, generous on your chashu pork & kimchi for kimchi ramen, appreciate they saved me from overeating & just took the small portion of food I wasn’t able to finish. Broth & noodles were warm with good texture on the noodles. Didn’t even ask for a tip, pleasant surprise beyond the meal before I took off. Ambiance is definitely relaxed and they maintain a clean restroom if you need to use it of course. -would give business again“

“Been to the one in sawtelle before but it was my first time at this location -- the food was great as always. Loved the spicy tonkotsu ramen I had. The sides were available as an add on at $2.50 each. There wasn't too much of a wait as groups come and go fairly quickly. “such great tasting food here. we got the ramen combo with fried rice and an appetizer of pork on the side, which had such a delicious sauce on top that paired so well with the fried rice. ramen was pretty flavorful and had a great ratio of noodle, pork, and egg. rice by itself was nothing special, but had a lot of corn which I liked. we came at around 3:30, and there was a small line still to eat indoors, so we opted to sit outside so we could be seated quicker. we paid right after we ordered, so it was nice to just leave once we finished eating. waiters were nice.“

Ordered a three item bento box which also came with rice, salad, miso soup, sushi, and gyozo. All fresh and tasty. Ordered an additional roll at 1/2 off. I did not leave one morsel behind on my plate. And service is fast and attentive. It's a great lunch option.“
