“The food is exceptional! I ordered a catering order for a graduation party-The food arrived on time and was amazing. My father raved over the chicken tikka masala saying it surpassed his favorite restaurant in New York and my husband who travels to India for business thought the paneer was the best he's ever had. Additionally, my children have tree nut and peanut allergies and their food is nut free which is quite difficult to find. I highly recommend the food. You will not be disappointed.“

“The variety of Indian food was mainly focused on certain region and elevated it so well. I enjoyed every bit of the food. The desserts were different with a twist. Will be coming back here. They do not serve hard liquor but do have wine and beer. Parking is on the road.“

“Edited for recent visit on 2/7/24:Finally got to try the malai pasta. It did not disappoint in flavor and was fantastic. I think adding some meatballs would further elevate this dish with some protein. Lamb sliders were also super tasty. The pizza was fine but was made better by dipping it in the malai pasta sauce. The staff were gracious and helpful. Significantly improved from my previous visit. Would come back.Malai pasta: 4.5/5Lamb sliders: 4.5Green tikka pizza: 3.5Old review:I’ll admit we didn’t have the pasta. Between the pizza, wings, and something else we had we left feeling pretty underwhelmed. We asked a couple next to us about their wings which were different than ours and their response was a similar “meh”.Indian food and Italian food should be full of flavors, this fusion of flavors seemed to be meant for the palate of someone who had never had any ethnic food. I appreciate the attempt, but I felt it was poorly executed. I might give them a try again as it has been awhile.“

“Been there a few times and every single had a great experience. I have tried every single item on the vegetarian menu. Exceptional food, exotic cocktails suggested by Benjamin . Benjamin has familiarized the menu pretty well for being new to the Indian cuisine who could suggest every menu item like a pro..“

“Wow! This is such an amazing and unique concept! I love the frankies selection from the menu. I tried Chicken Tikka Masala Frankie and Crispy Frisch Frankie and I’m satisfied! The frankies are made from naan which was freshly baked and the fish and chicken were nicely cooked and overall it was amazing! Reasonable pricing for the size of the food. Amazing service from the business and highly recommended to try if your looking for something new!“

“I’ve had somewhat rough luck in finding an Indian restaurant that I like in Los Angeles. I’ve tried a handful around and I will say that Star of India has the best naan that I have personally found.Always will happily stop to pick up lunch by when I’m working in the area!“

“No frills, simple, and homey restaurant with incredibly generous portions of biryani. I ordered the lamb biryani, which is one of their most popular items, along with a samosa and chicken roll to try. There's a service fee for card transactions (I think 5%). The samosas and chicken rolls stay in a small food warmer box near the entrance and is self-service . They call your name to pick up the main entrees at the counter. Chicken roll was really savory and the samosa had a good crunchy fry to it. The complimentary chutneys go well with them. The biryani comes with its own special chutney (sauce?) that brings a much needed brightness (minty-herbaceous) flavor profile to the otherwise salty and filling biryani. It took me 3 days to finish and made for great leftovers. :)“

“Just adding my praise to the rest! Food is delicious. Our order: Vegetable Samosa Tikka Masala with chicken Chana Masala Side of Rice Side of Green Chutney Garlic Naan Mango Lassi Masala Chai My girlfriend and I wiped the Tikka Masala clean off the bowl. No joke. Spot is next to the liquor store. Parking across the alley, but it looks like people order to-go quite a bit. Sorry, no pics because we devoured the food.“

“Crown of India has excellent and delicious food, and the serving staff is friendly and helpful. I highly recommend eating here. They are very accepting of LGBT community. May I suggest their garlic/cheese naan. I don't know of any other Indian restaurant that makes this form of naan. I take all my friends there for a wonderful meal.“

“Abhiruchi is amazing! I've been going there for 2-3 years and I've never been disappointed. The Abhiruchi chicken curry, goat biryani, and the chili garlic naan are highlights, but everything I've tried has been excellent. The service is always kind and welcoming, and Omar in particular is the best. My girlfriend and I want Abhiruchi to cater our wedding!“

“The man there is exceptionally great at customer service. He Offered samples before I made my selections, and the taste was simple, just like home-cooked. I was almost the last customer; he made sure I left fully satisfied. While the garlic naan was a bit thick, I gulped the entire meal box satisfying. The atmosphere was simple, not too loud, and the food spoke volumes. I wholeheartedly recommend this place. Also, do not worry about the timings. He is almost open for another 35-40 mins after 10 Pm. I've seen him taking in more customers after me.The outside street didn't feel safe; that's the only thing that bothered me to walk to the restaurant from my hotel.“

“Wow. I liked Indimex before they changed management, now I love it! I wrote a review 7 years ago with a follow up 6 years ago pre covid. Remember when? During Covid and even more recently, I would order and have it delivered. But tonight I saw they were open and there was parking space right in front so I went in person. Wonderfully warm new owner, quaint dining room albeit small but remodeled and the new owner has plans for more. - feels more authentically Indian with a Mexican twist. Indian movie posters and music, colorful walls and tables. Their Chicken Tikka Masala sauce is the real deal as is the raita. Delicious. The chicken tikka masala quesadillas are reasonable and filling. I'm so glad they survived Covid and with this new management I'm excited to see what comes next. Have an adventure as I said in my original posting 7 years ago. Tired of the same old same old? Support local businesses. And enjoy!“

“Everything we had here was great, I got the lamb curry, and my friends got chicken tikka masala, both of which were fantastic. I do wish that rice came with these, but we were able to get some for not too much of an added cost. Great service!“

“Every time we eat there, we are impressed by the overall quality of the food and service. Chef Arango delivers high quality food in every dish. Each item is extremely fresh and well prepared. You can also tell that the family really appreciates every single customer. I can't say enough positive things about them. I am honestly thankful to have a such a solid Indian food option right in the neighborhood.“

“If only this place had consistency with their dishes, they'd have 5 stars from me. I get the chicken korma (I order spicy). Sometimes it's hardly spicy at all and sometimes it's so spicy it's almost inedible. Sometimes the color of the dish is pale and tastes bland, other times it's a deep red-orange full of flavor. Sometimes the consistency is watery and other times thick. I never know if I'll be disappointed or not until I get my order. I've never dined inside, but I have picked up my order and it seems like a nice place to have dinner. Looks clean, low lighting, and the service has always been very friendly.“

“I dined in this restaurant for the first time today. The rating of this restaurant is five out of five according to the quality of the food. High-quality restaurant service. The whole restaurant is very clean and I am very happy with the cleanliness and tidiness of the restaurant. When I entered the restaurant there was a nice aromatic smell inside this restaurant which made me want to write something about the restaurant.. Other Indian restaurants have a strong pungent smell of spices but in this restaurant, the only difference I got was a very nice aromatic smell which is used in various five-star hotels while stay. The ambiance of the restaurant is beautifully blended with the color of the walls of the restaurant under the light amber lights to create a dense romantic atmosphere.I am so happy with the organic food of this restaurant that I wish this restaurant all the best for the future and I look forward to seeing the success of this restaurant very high. I am happy with the food of today's restaurant and may your restaurant continue to use this type of organic and locally cut lamb, goat, and chicken in the future.I highly recommend this restaurant.Parking: Free Parking Lot.Kid-friendliness: Very kids Friendly. The owner of this restaurant gave my kid free kulfi.“

“Great hospitality and lovely atmosphere. There wasn’t overbearing music, and there are nice semi-private booths. The food was good! The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was because I thought there could have been more salt, and the medium spice here was very mild. If you like spicy, go for full heat.“

“Urban Masala consistently stays one of my favorite places to get Indian food in LA. I'm single, so ordering from most places and being able to try everything I want can easily put me back $80+ but Urban Masala's plates allow me to get a little bit of everything I like for less than $20 and it is always so so good. You can't go wrong here.“

“The service was good. We were treated with patience and was very respectful and helpful. It was very quiet and calm ambiance. The garlic chicken curry was 10/10 (medium spice) And well cooked. The vegetable masala was 8/10. Everything pretty good. The order of rice portion is good and enough for 2 ppl. Did take about about 15 minutes for food to come out.“

“Had one of their combo meals via delivery. Goat curry, saag paneer and a mixed veg dish with rice, naan and raita. Everything was delicious, certainly some of the best Indian food I've had close to mid city. Very much appreciate that they serve goat and have dishes on the menu that are outside the standard Indian menu you see at most places in the area. Looking forward to going in person and trying their balti dishes as well as the paya. "Very very spicy" here seems to mean mildly spicy, so if you're a chili head like me best to let them know you mean business. The cilantro mint chutney was probably the best I've ever had-so fresh. All around great food.“

“Ricky was lovely and very accommodating. The food was phenomenal, they essentially have a create your own section. You choose your protein, then the sauce. It comes with rice, naan, and two daily vegetables. Everything was so delicious. My boyfriend has some pretty severe food allergies and they worked with us and took it seriously. I really love how it looks in the restaurant, it is wonderfully decorated! Beautiful colors.“

“Service here was amazing this evening! My friend and I ordered the butter chicken and the tikka masala and there was so much chicken! It was a GREAT value for the price. Portions could not have been better. I don't think I've ever had better naan, and the ambiance was unmatched. Overall, it is sad that so many people order takeout instead of dining-in for Indian food. If you are going to dine-in somewhere, LET THIS BE THE PLACE!“

“We checked out this spot for the first time, and it was awesome! Their North Indian Punjabi food is amazing, and their prices are reasonable. We opted for a combo with three veg options, and let me tell you, each curry was bursting with flavor. It's got that spicy kick, but it's incredibly tasty. This place might not be fancy, but they've got everything from street food to Indian sweets and combo specials. Plus, they serve up some homemade Indian snacks too. We're definitely going back for more. If you're a fan of North Indian cuisine, this spot is a must-try!“

And man I tried the chicken tikka BBQ the other day it was sooooo juicy and full of flavor. Theres a reason this joint has been around for 3 decades“

“I was searching for a decent Indian restaurant just to have Pav Bhaji without keeping high hopes, since I’ve been here for a couple of weeks now and had no expectations regarding the quality of Indian food from local restaurants. However, let me tell you, when I reached there, I saw an option for an Indian Thali with 2 curries priced at just $14. Since a lot of Indian people were already having their dinner, I thought to give it a try, and I almost felt like I was having homemade food after such a long period. Everything was simple yet finger-licking tasty. Now it’s my favorite place, and I plan to order only from here whenever I’m in town.Value for money and amazing taste, do give it a try.“

“Went to grab dinner here before a Laker game and absolutely loved it. We ordered the Mekhani chicken, basmati rice, garlic naan, and vegetable samosas and it was all delicious. We also had a mango lassi and masala tea, which were fantastic. The service was great, super kind man who chatted with us a bit. He kindly gave us some free dessert at the end, which was also delicious (I forgot what it was called but it was shredded carrot in a sweet milk with nuts. So good!). It is cash/Venmo only, so be prepared with either.“

“It's been a month since I had the Chicken Tikka Poutine and I still think about it fondly. Not only was the food the best thing I had in my Los Angeles trip, it traveled WONDERFULLY, managing to still be in restaurant condition after about 30 minutes of stewing in a takeout container.Excellent ingredients, prep, and clear research done on the best to-go packaging necessary to make a star dish edible on receipt. Cannot recommend enough.“
“Breakfast and lunch are great at Tray. Everything on the menu is delicious!! Top notch staff as well. The Buttermilk Fried chicken is a Wednesday favorite. They also recently added an amazing Torta to the menu. This place is a DTLA hidden gem!“

“Delicious food, friendly people, tough parking. I had a Groupon and ordered for takeout. Super easy to redeem, but note that I had to pay the remaining balance in cash. Everything we ordered was tasty - saag paneer, chicken makhni, samosas, garlic naan. Good portions and packaged well. Parking might be tough. They don't have a parking lot, and you can't park at the former Westside Pavilion anymore since it closed. There's metered street parking right out in front on Pico, but there's no parking allowed during rush hour (4-7pm). There is a paid city parking lot across the street though, so it's just a short walk. I will definitely order again!“

“Pretty good food, I liked the Thali with Karahi Paneer, Vegetable Soup and Vegetable Biryani. The food is flavorful no doubt about it, goes to show how good Chef Patel is and he’s been in business for quite sometime now. Portions are good enough and I also liked that you could order the same Entrees as a “side” within reasonable amount. It’s right across of Whole Foods so parking would be validated if you happen to do grocery shopping after your meal, which you might like as an idea, given the food will appreciate some good walk after.Vegetarian options: Vegetable Soup, Vegetable thali with 1 Entree comes with Samosa, Dal, Rice, Salad, Gulab JamunParking: Nearest would be the road side parking spots, free after 8pm which also means it’ll be difficult to find those spots right after 8. Better option is the whole food parking lot, specially if you happen to do some groceries after mealsWheelchair accessibility: Accessible“

“My husband is from India, so we have eaten a lot of flavorful foods. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meal here. We ordered the five taco plate and sides of corn, mom‘s beans, the vegetarian beans, potatoes with chorizo, corn, and rice. We also tried the coconut rose milk lime drink, and the cucumber salad . My husband, especially like the jeera chicken and corn. I loved the Carne Asada and goat tacos. The green sauce is fabulous. The fresh house made corn tortillas also really take the tacos to the next level. We really enjoyed our meal here. Kudos to the owners for taking such an interesting fusion risk and executing it well.“
