“Worth the wait. I avoided the wait as I went before the lunch rush on a Saturday morning. Around 10:45am. Their broth is clean, light but flavorful. It was not overly sweet like some places. The eggrolls were the rice paper kind and not the wonton type. It was super crispy and right amt of chewy. Spring rolls were equally delicious. Found meter parking outside. Would definitely return.“

“Classic pho place that my parents brought us to when we were kids. I realized that my parents, especially my dad, was a true foodie of his time, before all the technology and online reviews were even available. He brought us to try so many different cuisines, and we have come to appreciate Vietnamese food since we were kids.“

“If you're interested in trying popular Vietnamese entrees outside of pho, head over to Be U! This woman-owned eatery is located in a prime hipster Echo Park neighborhood, and to me, it's a perfect blend of my culture superimposed on Los Angeles's colorful cityscape. The menu ranges from homey comfort-food entrees to popular street bites, and some new-age fusion items as well. Atmosphere: 2/5 As a take-out-only restaurant located on Hoover Street, there's no seating and it faces traffic. If only there were some colorful plastic chairs (like the ones you see in SE Asia) - the vibes would be immaculate. However, you're either standing and eating or taking the food back to your home. Service: 3/5 Wasn't bad but wasn't warm or friendly either - service was okay Flavors: 5/5 Highly recommend: -Banh mi trung op la (banh mi with fried egg): homemade mushroom pate is delicious, it inspired me to make some at home. The egg was crispy to the heavens. -Rau ma juice: in English known as pennyworth, extremely refreshing, herbal, and will cool you down on a hot day. -Tofu goi cuon (spring rolls): The peanut sauce offered with this was so yummy! The spring rolls were super fresh and all the herbs complemented the flavors. Parking: 2/5 Street parking only, very limited Pricing: 3/5 Definitely not cheap for Vietnamese food, however, LA is a high-cost-of-living area so I understand that the owner needs to maintain overhead costs and pay her employees a fair wage! Expect to pay $4-5 higher than what you're used to paying in the OC/SJ/SGV. The reason why I rate it low is because the portions are significantly smaller than what you'd get at a traditional sit down Vietnamese restaurant Overall I recommend Be U if you're unfamiliar with Vietnamese food outside of mainstream pho, but if you're willing to drive to SGV, Garden Grove/Westminster, you'll be truly immersed in the cuisine and culture“

“We almost drove right by the restaurant because there was no sign, but fortunately we found our way in to the cozy bungalow dining room. We ordered the turmeric fish hotpot which was full of flavor with crispy rice and soft flavor fish that was amazing. Everything else we ordered did not disappoint--the watercress salad with beef was fresh and tender, steamed rice cakes with shredded shrimp and taro root crispy rolls were unique spins on traditional dishes that were really shareable and delicious. Definitely will come back!“

“We wanted something healthy but flavorful for dinner and happened upon this place in the neighborhood, pretty no frills on the inside. Clearly a big focus on deliveries, but there's plenty of tables. We each got a steak banh mi and WOW was it good! So much flavor, and the bread was perfect; hard enough to hold it together, but easy to bite into. The crispy spring rolls were perfect as well, clearly freshly made and decently sized. We also split some noodles and were pleasantly surprised by the portion sizes. Definitely will be back.“

“The Pho is enough for 2 people and it's delicious! We have had both the chicken and the Wagu beef. Also, the rice plates with fried rice and either Wagu beef or spicy pork is really good. We get one of each (Pho and rice plate) and share. We are quite full and satisfied when we finish! And the prices are very reasonable.“

“I stopped by with friends it was a pretty solid spot for pho and other delicious Vietnamese menu items.I had the avocado drink, spicy fried soft shell crab, “Lady’s on fire” Spicy Lo Mein Noodles, beef combo pho & braised marinated pork belly with egg & rice. The avocado drink was good but too much ice overall that you only get a small few gulps of the drink. The soft shell crab appetizer was phenomenal and my favorite dish of the bunch. Perfect flavor and cooked just right. The lady on fire was an excellent noodle dish. Flavor and spice was on point and it was cooked perfectly. The beef combo pho was also good, the meats were great and the broth was pretty good. A descent bowl of pho.The braised pork belly was good but I made the mistake of thinking it was going to be fried. It was still a solid dish, the sauce was delicious and sweet. The pork was very tender and flavorful.Customer service is great but sometimes it can get crowded and there might be some delays due to only a few working, but still a great dining experience.I’d definitely come back to this spot again to try their other menu items. Parking is valet only or street parking if available.“

“Food was delicious, nutritious and audacious! Very much enjoyed the Bomb Bahn Mi and Build Your Own Bowl but what really STOODOUT was the customer service. Major shout-out to David for his absolute SUPERIOR service! What really motivated me to even post this was to give that man his flowers. He expertly guided us through the menu, gave us great recommendations and made us feel like we were guests at his home...what a professional! So when you stroll into My Lai Kitchen and the guy behind the counter is skillfully taking care of you, then you know you're talking to David. Get in there and say, "waddup dude, I heard you're the MAN"? and get ready to have a great dining experience.“

“Food was great. They have a weird charging thing though about extra meat (you don’t get much extra) there was a guy blasting music next to me. I couldn’t enjoy my date. As well as the server barely coming to ask if we want a refill(it’s tap water for people like me who HATE sink water) we had to like chase them down for the check. And that took forever to come. Good food and place, very homey and cozy, bad service.“

“I love this place so much!! The prices are reasonable. You can make your pho a large for a small price. The fried shrimp egg rolls came out hot and fresh.FYI - they put the rare steak into the pho rather than on the side. If you want your meat rare then ask for it on the side.“

“Tasty Banh Mis. I always get the sardine along with either the pork or chicken. All made fresh to order. They include a small au jus of the specific Banh Mi you order-nice touch. ? Parking is a challenge since it right on Hyperion so if you see a spot, take it.“

“I've been going to this place since it opened and it is as close to authentic Vietnamese cuisine. Apparently, they seem to have adjusted their flavor to make it acceptable to a majority,I still favor the touch of Vietnam more.Other, Vietnamese restaurants around like Glendale Pho or K5 Pho pales in comparison.“

“Downtown LA Pho stands out as the perfect spot if you crave authentic Vietnamese Pho right in the heart of the financial district of DTLA. The pho and soup base boast delightful flavors. The staff is exceptionally friendly, providing great service, and the portion sizes are satisfying. However, it's crucial to manage expectations and avoid comparing the food here to the offerings in San Gabriel Valley or Little Saigon area. -1 star for the pricing, but considering the prime location and convenience, it's understandable. I'll certainly return when in the financial district of DTLA and in the mood for Pho.Quick tip: You can find Downtown LA Pho inside the City National Plaza's food court, located on the bottom floor of the plaza.“

“Delicious papaya salad, lemon grass beef noodles and the rice rolls!! Freaking scrumptious! The chef at this restaurant is the BOMB! Whomever it is knows the art to cooking delicious meals. We promise to always keep you in business. Pleas stay the course during this nutty pandemic. We need food like Little Sisters to keep our souls alive! Ps- we miss their poppin music! And yes we are “down with the OPP and the BIG”“
“Than Huu makes an excellent Bahn Mi. The baguette is perfect, the ingredients are simple and fresh and there are basically two items on the menu. Bahn Mi and soup; the do have a drink and tea menu as well. The service is very kind, friendly and gracious. Than Huu does have little stools and tables in the middle of an asian bazaar in Chinatown.“

“This order was delivered by GrubHub and was delivered in appropriate time. The flavor of the pho broth was a little underwhelming and left me wanting a stronger taste. The restaurant does take the time to create an authentic broth but may cut the time short, leading to a lighter flavor. Since the broth can easily make or break a good bowl of Pho, this broth is 4 out of 5 stars, which is great for a regular location. While it's not the best in the area, it still has decent flavor. The chicken was a little chewy and did not soften after sitting in the broth for a while. The freshness of the chicken is questionable. As a frequent pho enthusiast, I was disappointed that this restaurant did not offer spring rolls, which is my go-to appetizer when judging a pho restaurant. This time I opted for the fried egg rolls and I was not impressed with the texture or flavor. Everything in the egg roll tasted old and lacked a desirable flavor. The pho broth container and the chicken &noodles container were both of good quality, as there were no spills in the bag, and kept everything warm during delivery. However, the pho ingredients and the egg rolls were delivered in Styrofoam packaging which is environmentally irresponsible. As seen in the pictures, the container with the egg rolls was either cut or melted in an unusual way. I suspect the restaurant cut the box to allow for venting and to prevent melting. Getting rid of the Styrofoam containers would yield a higher service rating.Overall, not too bad. I'd visit this restaurant again if I'm in the area.“

“First time at this restaurant. Will be back!! The warm friendly greeting was welcoming and appreciated. I ordered the pork chop special. It was beyond delicious and plentiful. The flavors and dipping sauce was magical. Pork chops grilled to perfection. The casual atmosphere was intimate though spacious tables and a fun art wall as a focal point. It was a hot day so I was grateful for the ac keeping me cool while awaiting my food. Street parking is easy. Worth the stop if you enjoy tasty Vietnamese food prepared to perfection. Trust me! #happygirl“
“Saw this restaurant on Door Dash. This is now my go to Vietbamese restaurant. Ingredients are fresh and everything is super flavorful. The spring rolls. Garlic noodles and shrimp fried rice are my fav. Looking forward to trying more items from their menu. I love the spice level of their food. That peanut dipping sauce is life. 10/10 would eat again.“

“Spacious pho restaurant in a little KTown plaza. Conveniently located right next to a bus stop. Valet parking in the lot, but you should be able to self park/street park. The takeout and ordering in experience is very fast, and staff is nice. They have the menu under a glass cover on every table, at every seat. I felt pho was better than average, but not the best I've had. I got the pho with meatballs, and the meatballs came quartered. I didn't enjoy the texture of the meatballs and it's possible they could have been frozen, which was regretful because I feel like a proper, handrolled meatball can really make a bowl of pho go to the next level. Good amount of noodles and the broth was also good. We also got the vermicelli and grilled pork, which was flavorful. Dish came with pho broth and a spicy/sour dipping sauce. I'll probably opt for a vermicelli/rice plate next time I come here. Overall, prices are very fair for LA. A bowl of pho will run you $12 here, and a combination pho (with varied meats like their brisket, tripe, meatball etc.) is just above $13. Hits the spot for pho, but not mindblowing to me. Still a solid spot to stop for a quick meal or conversation.“

“Last year during the writers strike when I was working for Uber eats during the big storm, someone ordered pho from here all the way to Altadena. Now I know why. Their pho ga is usually good. It's tender. And the vibe is just really cool. The prices are fair for Hollywood, too. Seems to be a local favorite. Never too busy but there are always orders coming in and eat in couples drifting through.“

“Came here with some friends and decided to have the Charboiled Beef With Rice (I'm not a fan of Phở, even though I've tried it countless of times in countless different places. The meat was seasoned to PERFECTION. I actually wanted to order a SECOND meal JUST like the one I had just finished having when I ate it. It was THAT good. Service was also great. It was around 12 of us and they handled our orders so quickly and efficiently. Definitely a place to check out for good Vietnamese food.“

“Very unfortunate rating I have to give, because I actually enjoyed the pho. I originally ordered the oxtail pho, but after like 10 minutes found out they were sold out.The broth was nicely seasoned, not as clean/clear as I’d like though, the rib eye was okay, but there were not enough noodles. Anyway, I ordered shrimp egg rolls as well. I was almost done with my pho before they came out. Yet and still? They came out FROZEN! Not cold, or old, FROZEN!“

“I came here for some phô with friends figuring I would find something on the menu, being LA. Turns out they have a whole vegan menu! The phô was great and I saw that they had bahn mi and knew that I'd have to come back. I did and will come back again too. Everything I had was great. Bahn mi was spicy and came with great taro fries. Updated from previous review on 2024-03-13“

“I've been coming here for so long. This might be the best Vietnamese Sandwich shop in town. It's authentic Vietnamese for sure. They also bake their bread in-house and I've overhead other customers raving about it, sometimes coming in just to buy the bread! Also, try their Vietnamese coffee with your sandwich! I love that they sell other items at the counter in addition to their sandwiches; banh gio, cha lua, banh bot loc, just to name a few. In gacy, I'm craving their food as I'm writing this review! There is indoor seating available, parking is limited but it seems like most customers get their food to go so parking doesn't seem to be an issue.“

Pad see ew with chicken - very good Vegetable fried rice with tofu no egg - very good. “Love their combination meal. It either comes with 1 spring roll or 2 egg rolls a bowl of brisket and rare steak pho, and a drink. For about $18 or so. You can add a Thai tea for an additional cost but definitely worth it. They also open at 9am which is convenient.“
“In my opinion, this is the best bowl of pho I've had in LA and I've tried them all. I think the reason I'm giving this business four stars has to do with both the ambience and the selections on the menu. For starters, they do not offer other traditional Vietnamese dishes, like spring rolls, or bun. It seems that it is very limited to Pho and some fried options. The ambience was very bright, and the music was a bit loud for my taste. I like something a little bit more subdued, but I understand that I'm being a bit picky. But the actual Pho itself? Unbelievably flavorful. Another complaint, they do not offer the nuc bro which is traditionally available at every pho place I've ever been to. On the plus side, they have what it is almost a salad bar type, set up where you can grab the sides for the Pho that you want: lime slices, basil, bean, sprouts, jalapeño slices, and onions. This is perfect for me because I like to have a little more basil and onion, but I don't care for the jalapeño and that way none gets wasted on me. If you're only interested in getting a bowl of pho, you are in the right place. I will be back here again for sure.“

“Ordered the combination pho and my husband ordered the house pho. Combination pho broth was more spice flavored vs the house pho. Combination pho had too much stringy tripe for my liking. They give a lot of meat and noodles in the bowl and love that they don't skimp on the sliced onions. Definitely will come back for pho when in the area.“

“One of the best pho spots in West LA! Per recs, I got chef's special and it was LOADED with tender ribs and tendon. They gave us a free bun thit - which they made accidentally and it was SO delicious too! Definitely recommend ordering the egg rolls as an appetizer. “A long time friend took me to this restaurant. It was the first time I ever had Vietnamese food. I had the Pho Chicken lunch special. The chicken breast was very good. What I liked about it is that you could add sliced jalapeno and lime slices for taste and add bean sprouts for substance. The mixture into the hearty broth made for a very tasty lunch. The restaurant was mostly simple in its design except for the fancier bar area and the decorated windows. I definitely wouldn't mind coming back to this restaurant.“

“For $6 it's a pretty great price for a Vietnamese Sandwich. The #1 seems to come with everything, but we happened to get the #4 this time. Crisp and flakey on the outside with a soft pillowiness on the inside. The flavors are fresh and the jalapeno just a bit spicy.Service wasn't that fast, but it's worth the short wait. Although the atmosphere is a little rundown, it still feels cozy“
