“Thanks to Christina, our friendly and efficient server, I can write a very positive review for Bungalow 44. A year ago my husband and I visited here and were shocked at the poor service. It marred any enjoyment of the meal. When my sister wanted to go here for her birthday dinner last night , I said yes with my fingers crossed. Our server Christina greeted us upon arrival and throughout the dinner was attentive without being intrusive. She was knowledgeable and made wonderful recommendations. We enjoyed the fig cheese flatbread, pork chop, steak frites and a delicious dessert. Eating under the tent has a wonderful ambiance. We received attention but never felt rushed. Give it a try and I hope you get Christina as your server!“

“We had friends coming to visit from Arizona and wanted to take them somewhere special for dinner. We heard about the newly reopened Paseo in Mill Valley and decided to try it. We were welcomed by the friendly manager Kevin as we entered. After giving us a tour we were seated in the main dining room by a cozy fireplace. We ordered cocktails along with a charcuterie board and roasted Brussels sprouts. At the recommendation of our knowledgeable waiter Will, my sister and I ordered the beet salad. One of our guests had the Market Green Salad and another raved about her Potato Leek Soup. Wanting to try different entrees we ordered California Halibut, Braised Osso Busco, Mary's Chicken Breast, Rib Eye Steak, and Roasted Duck Breast with orange glaze. The taste and presentation exceeded our expectations. As we were enjoying coffee along with Chocolate Indulgence, a (layered torte) and a Peanut Crunch Bar, Chef Branden approached our table to see how we enjoyed our meal. We all told him how much we enjoyed the food, his beautiful presentation, and the smiling staff. We had a great five star experience and will definitely be back!“

“Visited Tamalpie Sunday afternoon after a hike in Tiburon and was pleasantly surprised. They have a cozy outdoor seating area with a fire pit which is very nice. We ordered the calamari and Caesar salad to start. The Caesar was very good, but on the heavier side with dressing. We ordered the Tenderfoot and Railroad Grade pizzas, which balanced one another out perfectly. The Tenderfoot was a white sauce with mushrooms, while the Railroad Grade had your typical tomato sauce and provided the right amount of saltiness with the pepperoni. Loved that the pizza was super thin crust, yet held its form with a nice crisp. Would definitely come again if in the area!“

“I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. I am a business owner a few doors down and I wandered in with a friend after work one night about a month ago. We were met with such incredible warmth from the staff and the environment itself, even without a reservation. We sat at the bar and were greeted by Josh, only to find out later that he is the owner. He made excellent recommendations on everything from our drinks to dessert. The bar didn’t feel isolated from the rest of the restaurant and guests, but rather was lively hub frequented by kitchen and serving staff and warmed by a smoldering wood fire. The coziest. We swooned for the poke appetizer, complete with house-made toasted, but not crisp, blue corn tortillas. The pork shoulder tacos—also to die for. I have to say though, that the star on the sidelines was the beans. I honestly didn’t know I could feel this way about beans…but I digress. Josh bounced around from table to table all night, never letting a single ball drop, making every guest feel like *his* guest. A pot de crème sealed the evening in perfect bliss. I’m back a month later with the same friend, eating different and somehow even more incredible entrees: ribeye, halibut and a rhubarb crisp for dessert. I scarcely ever take the time to write a review as I prefer to vote with my $ and my feet, but I simply couldn’t eat here again without taking the time to sing it’s praises. Eat here.“

“A hidden gem for wine and dine in the downtown SF! Having previously enjoyed their sister wine bar of Bodega in North Beach, I was so excited to experience what the same owners had in store for us at Key Klub! The ambiance is dark and moody in the evening which makes it a perfect spot for a girls' get-together or a romantic date night. An ideal spot for conversations over a glass of wine. They have a great selection on natural wines which you can buy by the bottle or glass. Now, lets talk about the real star of the show - the food! my friends and I were pleasantly surprised at how delicious the plates are here. The mushroom fries were perfectly crispy despite the fact that they are drenched in a delicious mushroom cream sauce. The duck liver mousse french toast was a decadent and rich and the smash burger was perfectly cooked. Key Klub has definitely earned a spot on my list of go-to places in the cities and the mushroom fries alone are reason enough to have me coming back.“

“We enjoyed the most delicious meal. Authentic Italian cooking with wonderful attention to detail. I started with a salad of pear and radicchio. It's not pear season so I expected an unripe pear with minimal flavor to be honest. But I love radicchio so went for it. The pear was juicy and tender. What a delicious contrast to the crunchy radicchio and mustard vinaigrette. If that much care is given to the salad you can imagine how delicious the rest of the meal was. We left our plates scraped clean. ? They have a fabulous and affordable wine list and the staff make you feel like longtime friends. Our table was flanked by devoted regulars who were effusive in their love of Chef Valenti's talents. We could see why! We went on a busy weekend night and they never made us feel rushed to turn the table. For sure this is the best Italian food in san anselmo— but I'm just gonna call it. “First, the good: good wine, knowledgable and friendly staff, yummy snacks!I really want this place to succeed which is why I'm writing some constructive feedback! I recently moved to the neighborhood and have been looking for my cozy neighborhood wine bar to hang out with with a few friends or to read a book. I WANT this to be that place, but after going a few times there are just a few things that don't make me eager to go super often or recommend to friends, but I think they are easy to improve!Areas for improvement:-coziness and seating for smaller parties. The place is tiny and I get that! But the majority of the seating is 2 large tables that seat ~6 people. I guess in theory the tables could be communal but generally wind up seating 1 medium-larger group, so I feel weird grabbing a seat at them. When I show up on my own that means I have to sit at the bar or at one of the window high top stools (which have no back rest). Last time I was there I brought a book and after ~30 mins was getting back pain :( I would've stayed for a second glass of wine but decided to head home instead. A few comfier chairs or smaller tables that seat 2-4 (and could be pushed together for larger parties) would make me a lot more likely to go more often/stay for longer.-in a similar vein, the lighting inside at night is somewhat cold. A little bit warmer/cozier lighting would make the place feel more homey. Again, only sharing this in the hopes that this feedback is helpful! Would love to see this place continue to grow and succeed :)“

“First time. Waiter was very friendly and tentative. Drinks and food came out in a timely manner and it was yummy! All of it was really good but my favorite was the beet salad, the spaghetti pasta, As for the pizza, I think we tried 4-5 different ones. My favorite was the pepperoni and the mushroom. Dessert... we did try all 3 and they were all my favorite. Was a great experience.“

“This is the first place we ate on our trip, and it set the bar HIGH we absolutely loved it. They had some awesome gf options!I started with the house made lemonade and was absolutely in love. The perfect lemonade, I wish it had been free refills because I would’ve drank 7 cups at least. Then we had the tarp chips with siracha aioli and was pleasantly surprised how well the earthy chips with the tangy sauce went together. Yum!I had the steak frites with truffle fries and it was phenomenal! My husband had the fried chicken sandwich with fries and said it was one of the best he’d ever had! (And he has tried lots of chicken sandwiches!)10/10 would eat here again the staff was so friendly and accommodating and made us feel right at home. Dietary restrictions: They had awesome attitudes and were very knowledgeable and willing to make alterations to dishesKid-friendliness: While kids could definitely eat here, the vibe is much more geared towards adults.“

“Walked in and was met with a charming wine bar on Polk street that still has an aesthetic feel. Enjoyed the fun light fixtures and hanging neon banana a lot for the funky vibes. Tried a white wine and a natural wine here. The day was winding down so service was a bit slower, but totally makes sense because it was late and everyone was definitely starting to wrap up. Enjoyed my experience! Will definitely be back and hopefully get to try some bites as the kitchen was closed when I visited.“

“Solo diner experience at the newly opened and highly lauded on social media restaurant. It's very crowded and busy even at 10pm. The bar seating is a tight shoulder to shoulder situation, so if you are not comfortable with that or perhaps you are on the larger side, consider coming with friends so that you can secure table seating. I would suggest to the owners to put bag hooks under the bar counter in the future. Onto the food, you are treated to a complimentary amuse bouche of smashed cucumber and roasted salted peanuts. The drinks menu is lively and extensive, though I ended up just opting for water. I ordered the salted egg & squash croquette, salt&pepper squid skewer, fish fragrant eggplant, red bean shaved ice, "huckleberry" (it's blueberry)tofu hua, and mango pudding.Croquette: 4pcs. Freshly fried, molten creamy and sweet squash inside. Make sure you open it first and let the steam out. Helps you swallow the squid skewer if you ran out of water. 4/5Squid skewer: green onion, jalapeno?, squid, mala spice, not my favorite bite as a side from the numbing spicy seasoning and onion there wasn't much flavor to the squid 2/5?Eggplant: ? a whole clay pot of braised eggplant!!!! Generously portioned and seasoned. It's not heavy or greasy at all. They should just have this over rice as a default tbh. I ordered a $3 rice on the side. 5/5?Shave ice: Soft powder type shave ice, sweet milk, red bean, boba pearls, vanilla ice cream. Decent portion. 4/5"Huckleberry" tofu: Served warm. It's blueberry. If you get this combine it with the shaved ice trust me!! 3/5Mango pudding: The combination of flavors and texture was intense. Think gushers candy and those choking hazard jelly cups you ate as a kid and add nuts! Your Asian aunty would definitely say this dessert was too sweet. But it definitely was powerful. A bit syrupy for me. ? 2/5I'll come back with friends so I can feasibly try more dishes, and see if other people agree with me that the mango pudding is 厉害.. and to try the elusive fried bread. Very friendly service as well. See you again next time!“
