“I found out about this place through a corporate at home wine tasting event and was excited to try their other wines. Went a couple days after Valentine's day and got the cutest Vday wine and chocolate pairing for only $40! It came with 5 tastings and 5 different truffles. I know everyone has different wine taste but per my palette, I really like this place because no matter if you're drinking rose, red or white, all the wines are extremely smooth. That's because they remove the tannins in the process instead of letting them age. Their intention is to drink the wine now, hence serving and selling mini 187mL bottles. The tasting rooms is small and cozy, with a huge counter and a couple lounge areas around it, but it was classy and chic, a perfect place to drink wine. The Manager (I didn't catch her name) was also extremely nice and helpful while explaining each wine to make sure we enjoyed it to the fullest. I will definitely be coming back to taste their new wines!“

“So excellent food! The food didn't disappoint me and it was really fantastic. The overall quality was so good. Came here for dinner with my husband. Can't remember the name of the food we ordered but we actually have some pasta, salads, and meat too. Dessert was so superb and well-done. The appetizers were really delicious. They lots cocktails. The wines were taste so amazing. The service was so nice. The place has classy vibe inside. Great interior setting with a nice decor. Nice service.“

“I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. I am a business owner a few doors down and I wandered in with a friend after work one night about a month ago. We were met with such incredible warmth from the staff and the environment itself, even without a reservation. We sat at the bar and were greeted by Josh, only to find out later that he is the owner. He made excellent recommendations on everything from our drinks to dessert. The bar didn’t feel isolated from the rest of the restaurant and guests, but rather was lively hub frequented by kitchen and serving staff and warmed by a smoldering wood fire. The coziest. We swooned for the poke appetizer, complete with house-made toasted, but not crisp, blue corn tortillas. The pork shoulder tacos—also to die for. I have to say though, that the star on the sidelines was the beans. I honestly didn’t know I could feel this way about beans…but I digress. Josh bounced around from table to table all night, never letting a single ball drop, making every guest feel like *his* guest. A pot de crème sealed the evening in perfect bliss. I’m back a month later with the same friend, eating different and somehow even more incredible entrees: ribeye, halibut and a rhubarb crisp for dessert. I scarcely ever take the time to write a review as I prefer to vote with my $ and my feet, but I simply couldn’t eat here again without taking the time to sing it’s praises. Eat here.“

“It's a natural wine bar but I would come back just for the food--it was really excellent. I love the small plate format with many seafood and veggie options. Everything we had was good but the trumpet mushrooms in particular was salty, sweet, spicy, crunchy, umami, just so good. Also like the cozy, neighborhood vibe. They have sidewalk tables as well that I imagine would be nice on a warm evening.“

“I've been coming to Canela for years and it never disappoints. I've been with just one or two friends, and have been here in larger groups when celebrating a birthday or other occasion. The staff is always engaging and the service superb. I often go for some favorites, such as the chicken croquettes, but also try new dishes as well. I don't think I've ever had anything that wasn't flavorful. We got pretty stuffed on this last visit and sadly had to skip dessert. I recommend that everyone who goes here tries to save some room. They have wonderful desserts and their churros are a must!“

“What a lovely place! From the beautiful space with high ceilings and natural light to the delicious food, we had such a wonderful experience dining here. We had a Wednesday night reservation at 6:30pm and upon arrive the main dining room was fairly empty. With that being said, it gave us time to appreciate the space and all of the beautiful details. While I was wrapped up mostly in great conversations throughout out meal, everything we ate was so tasty! From our beautiful and vibrant amuse bouche to our final bites of dessert, not only did we leave full but also satisfied. Among my favorite bites ordered: Wood Fired Flower Bread, Crunchy Shrimps and the Manti dumplngs were among my favorite starters. As for the entrees, I could have done without the Wheatberry Risotto, but the Branzino and Lamb Chops are standout dishes I would definitely order again without hesitation! I don't have a huge sweet tooth, but as a group we ordered the Turkish Donuts which I had a taste of. The dessert was rich and decadent (and not overly sweet!) I'd recommend Taksim to just about anyone for a range of occasions and dietary accommodations. They have a little bit for everyone and with their excellent service and high quality of food, it's hard to go wrong!“

“Been here a few times for drinks or a happy hour and SF Wine Society is a gem. It has a fun bocce court, is well decorated with a sense of atmosphere, and the folks here really know a lot about wine. And as random a compliment as this is to give, the bathroom here is seriously decadent, beautifully designed and fancy??? I think that alone is a testament to the care put into this place. All the food is really delicious so I recommend getting something to go along with your drinks!“

“It’s been 4 years since we last ate at Heirloom and it’s just as good if not better than before. This little charming place with its tall ceilings and old timey aesthetics reminds me of New Orleans. The menu is constantly changing to reflect the season and has something for everyone. The wine menu also has many wines by the glass and are generous pours. The presentation and preparation of the food was a delight and delicious. Service was also great and was quick to offer tastes of wines when I wasn’t sure about which one to order. The 3 course tasting was $100 with excellent wine pairing and could be ordered even if others were ordering a la cart. I’m always surprised Heirloom doesn’t receive more accolades, but sometimes it’s nice to have a gem like this keep its neighborhood feel.“

“My first time here, everything was great. My only complaint was its very crowded meaning that the tables are very close together. Our waiter said he has been working there for 20 years. That's impressive. Overall, it's a great spot. The food is wonderful, the other 3 I was with got the roasted chicken and I went with the steelhead.“

“Stopped in with my buddy before a Warriors game. Place is open, spacious and well lit so it's very inviting. We quickly found a seat at the bar for two about 20-30 min before game time. Ordered a few beers (great beer selection) and were sipping on drinks within 10 minutes of waking in the door. People sitting next us at bar were friendly and bartender (also part owner) was extremely helpful and attentive while we're there. We had already eaten but food on menu and at people tables looked very good. “Small wine bar in the heart of Russian Hill. Perfect spot for 2-3 people, since most of the seating is bar seating or communal tables. All the servers are knowledgeable about the wine selection and always have great recommendations. I love their orange wines and all the food is amazing. They make beautiful cheese plates and pair the cheeses perfectly with jams and honey. If you can't decide what cheeses to order, tell them what you like/dislike and they will curate the perfect board for you!“

Butter chicken - chicken very tender and juicy, sauce tastes so good especially with the naan bread (they should bottle the sauce and sell it!) 2. “First, the good: good wine, knowledgable and friendly staff, yummy snacks!I really want this place to succeed which is why I'm writing some constructive feedback! I recently moved to the neighborhood and have been looking for my cozy neighborhood wine bar to hang out with with a few friends or to read a book. I WANT this to be that place, but after going a few times there are just a few things that don't make me eager to go super often or recommend to friends, but I think they are easy to improve!Areas for improvement:-coziness and seating for smaller parties. The place is tiny and I get that! But the majority of the seating is 2 large tables that seat ~6 people. I guess in theory the tables could be communal but generally wind up seating 1 medium-larger group, so I feel weird grabbing a seat at them.When I show up on my own that means I have to sit at the bar or at one of the window high top stools (which have no back rest). Last time I was there I brought a book and after ~30 mins was getting back pain :( I would've stayed for a second glass of wine but decided to head home instead. A few comfier chairs or smaller tables that seat 2-4 (and could be pushed together for larger parties) would make me a lot more likely to go more often/stay for longer.-in a similar vein, the lighting inside at night is somewhat cold. A little bit warmer/cozier lighting would make the place feel more homey. Again, only sharing this in the hopes that this feedback is helpful! Would love to see this place continue to grow and succeed :)“

“We enjoyed the most delicious meal. Authentic Italian cooking with wonderful attention to detail. I started with a salad of pear and radicchio. It's not pear season so I expected an unripe pear with minimal flavor to be honest. But I love radicchio so went for it. The pear was juicy and tender. What a delicious contrast to the crunchy radicchio and mustard vinaigrette. If that much care is given to the salad you can imagine how delicious the rest of the meal was. We left our plates scraped clean. ? They have a fabulous and affordable wine list and the staff make you feel like longtime friends. Our table was flanked by devoted regulars who were effusive in their love of Chef Valenti's talents. We could see why! We went on a busy weekend night and they never made us feel rushed to turn the table. For sure this is the best Italian food in san anselmo— but I'm just gonna call it. You can't get more delicious Italian food in all of Marin.“

“We went earlier this month. Food: It's world-class and absolutely lives up to the 3 stars. Everything from start to finish was superbly creative and delicious. That consistency is what sets Benu apart. Other restaurants can be hit or miss depending on the dish. I've personally noticed a trend of appetizers and dessert being great while the main courses can be lacking. Not the case at Benu. I really enjoyed everything. The kitchen showed off a mastery of flavors. Some were so subtle and delicate, while others packed the right punch at the right time. Service: Throughout the meal, Cindy (I hope I spelled that right) took such great care of us. She was so wonderful, friendly, and down to earth. She made us feel right at home. The food was already phenomenal, and she went above and beyond to make our experience at Benu even better. Cindy is a treasure. Ambiance: Cozy little location. You can see the kitchen walking in off the street. The courtyard in the front is picturesque. The dining room itself is a little simple, in my opinion, but the real show is on the plate, so itno big deal. One small gripe is that I thought the pacing of the meal was...not perfect. I tend to eat slower than my wife, but at a few points, I felt like I needed to hurry up a bit to not keep the next course waiting. Overall, an easy recommendation here. As soon we left, I knew I wanted to come back soon. Benu is 100% worth the price of admission.“
