“We ordered the oxtail stew which was VG, served over risotto with veggies. Two friends ordered the prefixed lunch for $20 which was bbq ribs, veggies, and mashed potatos. Not a big order but they were satisfied. We would definitely go back to try other dishes off the menu. Give this place a try.“

“The Refuge is known for its pastrami sandwiches and excellent rotating craft beer selection. Now, I’m from New York City, the land of Katz’s Deli pastrami sandwiches, so my bar is pretty high, and it would be blasphemy for me to even compare the two, but I have to hand it to them, it’s a pretty spectacular pastrami sandwich. Highly recommend.“

“I'm so happy we got to celebrate a family member's birthday at Rustic House! The staff is really attentive & friendly. The food was really good (aside from one menu item, but when we told them, they helped us remedy the issue immediately). We were really lucky & ate early enough that there weren't too many other patrons (which felt very safe from the perspective of trying to avoid unnecessary germs). The appetizers we ordered were delicious (we ordered the ceviche, the calamari, & the mussels & clams). The octopus salad was delightful, as was the beet salad with salmon & the fish tacos. The ice cream flight was the perfect birthday treat during Passover. Definitely happy we dined there & will hopefully be returning some time in the near future.“

“I've passed this place a few times and never really realized it,  until I actually went. I happened to find it on google and was surprised how close it was to my work.   On the outside, it looks simple, but once you enter, it's inviting.Upon walking in, the restaurant is divided in half. The right side is kind of an open outdoor seating area - it has a roof and walls but open where you feel a breeze. You can basically watch the cars coming by.  It's really comfy and cozy.  Some seating areas have a fire pit and old school ball park type seats.  Inside, they have booths, seating area at the bar, and high stools.  I can imagine this place being pretty packed on a Friday night. Watching a game or whatnot.For this visit, we ordered:1.  Firecracker shrimp - I was surprised the shrimp was huge.   It felt like a two- bite shrimp. Crunchy and flavorful.2.  Slider Trio w/ garlic tots -  Garlic tots are definitely the way to go.  They hold a lot of flavor in each bite.   For this, I chose the buffalo chicken, angus burger, whiskey pulled pork.  All were solid choices.3.  Corn Ribs -  Easy to eat, but oh, so messy.   It is like an elote but packs some heat.  It definitely had me able to breathe.. IYKYK4.  Pub club  -  Ginormous and meaty.  The chicken was juicy, and the bacon was thick.  As big as the sandwich was, you got a perfect bite each time.  The fries were surprisingly good as well, m5.  Fish tacos - Very flavorful. The fish was light and flaky. The coleslaw and pico de gallo gave it a refreshing and crisp crunch.  It's best to eat it right away.  Huge serving, and it is best to share with someone else.6.  Skirt steak -  The steak was tender and perfectly seasoned.  Veggies paired well.7.  Churros -  Surprisingly good.  It wasn't too sweet, but it was perfect for dipping in caramel sauce. It also went well with the ice cream.8.  Chocolate Brownie - Not your ordinary brownie.  When we got home, I warmed it up and added the chocolate drizzle and ice cream.. Yummy comfort dessert.Overall,  I highly recommend this place.   When I entered, the gentleman who worked there was super nice and helped me to pick the perfect items for our first visit.  I will definitely be back soon.“

“Limited shareable appetizers, but there are burgers and standard bar food. Draft list is decent but there's no cider. Fries were fresh, no seasoning? Wanted to order the fried mozzarella sticks but they were out. Happy hour was limited to just colors light when we visited on a Saturday. Plenty of seats inside. A bit dark, but old timey dive bar vibes.“

“As I mentioned on other reviews, our plans over the summer were changed at the last minute by wildfires in Canada. This resulted in us having to change plans on the hoof and for a number of reasons we ended up booking 3 nights here. The hotel is OK – I’d say it feels more like an upscale business hotel not a vacation spot (though it was very busy with families in July). For me, it didn’t feel luxurious enough in terms of the room product or location. Our first suite looked over a very busy road but we were then moved to overlook the pool which was better. The suite is more like a junior suite with the bedroom area separated by a partial wall. The sleeping area was small, however the bed was comfortable with very soft linens. There is a small hallway leading into the sitting area which is well stocked with coffee maker, kettle, fridge, cups etc. The bathroom - although it only had a single basin - had plenty of storage and had a large shower cubicle with rain-head as well as a good bath. The dressing room had very little short-hanging space but other than that was well planned. However, the staff in the restaurant are VERY good – several of them German, perfectly trained and on point. One of them recommended the excellent Village Pub for a meal one evening which we very much enjoyed. Also, if there on a Thursday do go to the bar - Thursday evenings are rather an entertaining “scene”.“

“Fast and friendly service by the amazing Joseph.Tasty food. I enjoyed the Cobb salad. Very fresh. My husband enjoyed a good burger.Comfy booth seating. Chairs standard. Clean tables. Overall dining area was nice. Bar seating available.Pricey tho. $30 for a Cobb salad! $24 for a burger. But then again. Prices are incredibly high everywhere!“

“We were weary travelers stopping by Scotty's in hope of a more chill vibe with some good food, and Scottys delivered! Our bartender, Sergio, was so friendly and fun! We got some inside knowledge about the town as we are from Oregon. The drinks were perfect and the food was top notch! I would have expected to pay a lot more for the quality of food and service we received at literally any of the surrounding places. We will visit Palo Alto again if only to go back to Scotty's as a new tradition! Thank you, Sergio, for making our anniversary dinner a great one! Someone give him a raise!“
