“Joe is great. After our Uber drive dropped us in the wrong place, Joe would tell us how to get there, he took us there. It was only at the end of the block, but meant the world to us. He wouldn’t accept a tip, so went back to have a beer after dinner. He remembered our name. He is the true meaning of customer service and I’ve told all of my friends to go see him at the Showdown. “Super cool bartenders. Even cooler patrons. Came here solo for a boilermaker and also an old colleague was womaning the food bar serving up mean Bette's chicken parm sandwiches so I had to show support for those delicious Italian American sandwiches on shokupan.The vibe is classic San Francisco punk. All walks of life come through here so don't be hater, drink, be merry and tip the bartenders.“

“I've had the good fortune of experiencing The Napper Tandy both as a patron as well as a music performer. As a patron, I can tell you that the food here is the BEST pub food you will ever find (I particularly recommend the reuben - the best I've ever had, hands down!)! As a performer, the staff as well as the crowd have always been extremely friendly, accommodating, and inviting. There's just something about the vibe of this place that seems to make people happy! The managers, Marissa and Nicola, are are absolute gems of human beings and their staff reflect their personal awesomeness! “There are so many great places in San Francisco and this is definitely one of them. Come as you are. Everyone who comes here is cool in their own way and I just love the overall vibe.Made a pit stop here after the big wheel race and there was an indie guitar singer doing her thing. A bit cramped but gotta appreciate that ambiance every now and then. Grungy bathroom, open patio area with sounds, loudness and again cool kids. Yummy snacks but the line can get hectic. Don't be rude, tip your bartenders and come here and just be.“

“The decor and ambience is very modern while still maintaining the original design and foundation. The staff is super friendly and attentive. Place gets busy even during baseball games. Went here before the giants game and was quite impressed. I’d love to come back next time I’m in town. The food and drinks were impressive and left me wanting more. Can’t wait to try the rest of the menu. You definitely won’t be disappointed if you decide to stop by.“
